I am using the latest Arrrghhhs anykernel along with ROM toolbox pro to underclock my min clock speed to 96MHz and overclock my max clock speed to 1890MHz. Im using ondemand as my cpu governor and row as my i/o scheduler. I have the option to overvolt and undervolt using ROM toolbox as well. I did some searching but cannot find any info specific to the Atrix HD. I was just curious if anyone has tinkered with this much and if so what have you found to be the best clock speeds/governor/scheduler/voltage combination. I've never really heard anything about overvolting, what if any benefits can come from this? Also what is the most you have been able to undervolt with causing a bootloop or other issues? On my old S3 I had a app that would test if your settings were stable by running different processes to put a heavy load on the device. You could run it as long as you wanted but I had learned if it reported no errors after 10 mins it was usually pretty stable at those settings. I cannot remember the name of the program and searching turned up nothing, I was hoping someone knew of it or knew of one that does the same thing. Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi all, I'm AWOL from the EVO forum while I get my wife's Hero set up.
I just loaded up DC 2.09 (latest / final release) and I'm working through SetCPU, but I saw one user at least who said DC automatically scales the CPU all by itself. So do I need SetCPU to get some battery benefits? The phone is screen-off a lot, mostly used for just calls, texts, and camera other than that, so if it will kick down to 245 automatically, that should save a lot of watts.
So do I need SetCPU, or will DC underclock out-of-the-box?
(Edit: I guess SetCPU gives me the OVERclock, doesn't it? Still, I'd like to know about DC's background so I know how to set up profiles, or even if I should.)
I haven't used DC in a while, but I'm fairly certain it doesn't come with the ability to underclock by default....I'm pretty sure it comes with a stock or very-similar-to-stock kernel that wouldn't have any different cpu speed settings. I could be wrong but nothing in the main OP of his post (here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=656690) suggests otherwise. That ability might be available in the DConfig settings somewhere, but I haven't used/seen it in a couple months to remember. Check there first.
If you don't see anything, you probably will want to use SetCPU or the OC widget to scale down. I'd also recommend using the Screen Off profile in SetCPU, to lower the max speed when the screen is off. Sounds like it would be a useful one for you.
This may not work with the included kernel, so if you don't see any results try a different kernel built specifically for use with OC/setcpu:
This one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=750170
or one of these: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=705074 for DC.
Hope this helps.
I searched but couldnt find a clear answer. Is there any reason my set cpu only goes up to 998 max?
That's the native clock speed of the CPU? I don't get your point
SetCPU isn't an over-clocking app, you want a higher speed, you have to flash a kernel that supports the speed you want.
I figured out my problem..I was running a sense rom on my G2 which let me overclock. Its been a while just got my nexus repaired and back from htc i just need a custom rom to overclock..sorry guys
Ok guys, what is this interactive governer and where do i access it? Is this something that was supposed to have been in the download or something I download in the market? I downloaded the latest emmc version and placed it on my sd card, flashed in CWR, then rebooted. I didnt clear any caches before doing this. Also this thing is super fast. Ran 3 quadrant scores, 1st- 1356, 2nd- 1568, 3rd- 1522, with an average of 1482. Wow
Thanks in advance
The interactive governor is under the Available Governors spot in the CPU Settings menu; you find it just above the Min/Max cpu speed selections.
Settings > CyanogenMod > Performance > CPU Settings > Available Governors.
ondemand works great for me
I've been using the interactive governor since it first started working on the Original Droid and I use it on my NC as well.
I find it makes things move just a bit quicker while having similar battery life.
First thing I do after a new rom is flash the oc kernel. Next thing is set the governor and oc.
If updates don't work with those things, I'd have to do a bug report and revert back to when they did.
Thanks to those who offered assistance. I got it figured out, and everything is working great.
Hey guys im new in this forum, I flash my galaxy tab P1000N with the new cm9 rom(ICS) with the new kernel of humberos (22/01/2012) and i never change the oc of the tab. i'm wondering if someone know recommend me set up the oc and how to. im root user.
with the voltage control app i saw these:
I/o Scheduler: sio CPU GOVERNOR: ondemand
MIN: 200Mhz
MAX: 1000Mhz
i hope learn more about my tab
I am using the setCPU app. It is free to XDA members do a search in the forums and you will find it. I found that I have crashes when I set it to 1.4 gHz though. So I keep it at 1.2gHz.
you have to set proper voltages,
somewhere in the cm9 thread you can find them
since the changes i had no problems with 1,4ghz
edit: i use "Cpu Master free"
tyyyy the new kernel fix the 1.4ghz freeze, run it and lagfree scaling... im flying with this, they fix the slowest browser and other things
Thanks l080.
Hi everyone!
I have one question, what is the most stable config. of your device including OC of the CPU and GPU, overvolting and undervolting, governors and VM heap size?
I have CM9 ICS 4.0.3. with devils kernel, in NSTools enabled deep sleep, OC-ed to 1350MHz CPU and 10% LiveOC GPU, Voltages are default, RAM is set to Hard gaming with 64Mb of VM in RAM Manager PRO. Governors are deadline and ondemand (I´ve had cfq and smartassv2 before).
What is most interesting to me is voltages..as I´ve read somewhere that that is the most important part in stability of system running OC-ed settings. How can you accomplish that? Tell me your examples.
Hi there, I use last nightly cm9, sgs is OC till 1,3 and i think it's perfect. Everything is open quick, all games are work stable and fast without freezes. I don't see difference between 1,3 and 1,5 OC. Regards !
Hi, thanks for your reply!
I would disagree, there is a huge difference between 1.3 and 1.5 as it is between 1.3 and 1GHz in the way of speed and handling heavy staff. What is different is that your device heat rises much faster on higher clocks than of those default.
My main concerns about this is because I want to be able to play all the new games (to be specific: Nova 3 , I can play multiplayer but single player allways crashes after few seconds)..and so that is why I wanted to share my settings with all of you, and you also share your settings.
The key to higher clocks speed is voltages, but I have no knowledge about it.
When I normal use phone I don't see any difference between 1,3 and 1,5 maybe it's my sgs charm It is as quickly as possible. When I oc to 1,5 it often freez
Well, that depends on what you mean by "normal use" ..but, no doubt that your phone or any other is much smother when OC-ed.
