if you have a ta backup you can unlock and relock the bootloader without any problem like the first day. even the sony cant realize that.but if you dont want to unlock the bootloader i think iHackers and RomAur are best.fast and stable
but you may have some issues with Xposed Framework (which is really handy) in LB.
but these two i think are the best based on stock roms
for note,I'm using iHackers v4.1 with unlocked bootloader

Ya I have many ta backups. But I shud unlock only after 6th Oct,my lifestyle is too dangerous to ignore warranty (I KNOW SONY CANNOT IF I RELOCK,STILL.. As I have no personal pc..ll buy in Oct)o thanks anyway.. M downloading ihackers 4.1 minimal version now.

If you relock bootloader via TA backup, no one can notice that .means sony cannot realize it and your warranty stands.
and i think,i think,if i'm not wrong, rooting the phone will break the warranty .. ! again i'm saying, i think

Sorry, I just saw the rules..no best' rom thread allowed. I tried to edit but in vein! Sorry...
Hmm...m searching Sony.Co.in about this pal... "Does root void warranty? "

Sky go app and Xperia t

Hi I can't search specific forums on this app so excuse Me if this has been answered already.
Had anyone got sky go working on their Xperia t? They have a root check and doesn't let you view anything until root is removed. They also have a firmware signature check so you have to be on stock Rom.
I used supersu to fully un root like a dumbass and it still didn't work. Now super user won't install properly.
I'm on doom kernel with curiosity rom

You wont be able to use sky go with an unlocked bootloader because you are always rooted with that kernel, even if you uninstall supersu.
Flash the root package I have installed to get your supersu back.
RootPackage-gregbradley.zip - 1.75 MB
Ugh that is head wrecking.
Is there any script to spoof locked boot loader? Thanks Greg.
Sent from my LT30p using xda app-developers app
you can relock the bootloader. There is an ftf in the dev section, just search for it.
But then you will have to have a stock kernel.
Nah I'd feel like they won then and I'm waiting for JB Rom with decent battery life. I tried to remove the read phone state permission and it wouldn't start.
Edit: it blacklists and allows kernels by using the information like one would see in "about phone" right? Or does it go deeper?

Rooting and flashing roms

Hey,
Looking into flashing some custom roms onto my xperia z however I was wondering what I lose as soon as the rooting / flashing begins?
I remember when this phone out there were problems with flashing where you lost the brava engine and also the drm services. This still the case?
Also can you return things to stock with 100% of everything working again?
Cheers
Scott

You will not lose anything just from rooting.
You will however lose your drm keys and Bravia engine if you unlock your bootloader.
There's loads of info regarding this so search and read.

Root without pc!!?? HELP

.I want root my XZ with any app (without pc). Please help.
not possible
C6603 ?
I think it would be possible, if you ask me, but you would have to execute all the commands from your phone, by hand.
Very risky though. If you make a mistake you could brick your phone and have to reflash using a pc.
Not recommended!!
Also you would need some knowledge about how android works, before you try anything.
Just use a pc. That's a lot safer and way easier

Actually you need a PC anyway, actual rooting method implies downgrading the kernel, rooting, and upgrading the kernel. You need a PC to down/upgrade the kernel.
Well, you're right, in the case of newest firmware. Older firmware doesn't an need old kernel, so it would be possible.
But for .67 firmware, yes you really need a pc.
Didn't consider that since I'm on unlocked bootloader, so don't need difficult rooting processes

Well, you need a PC to unlock the bootloader and flash rooted kernels, and actually the last two firmwares need kernel downgrading on locked bootloaders, .244 and .67. Sorry i'm just beeing picky
Ask me how do it.If it will easy for me I do it.
Sent from my C6602 using xda app-developers app
Well he only wants root, so unlocked bootloader isn't the subject here, neither are the rooted kernels.
I thought 244 was rootable without kernel flash, but i believe you in that..

XPERIA SP - 12.0.A.1.257 (Rooting)

I recently got the XPERIA SP(C5303) and I've been wondering whether I should root it or not.
From the information I've gathered currently, I can see a lot of people are having issues.
My main question is..
Is it worth rooting?
What are the pro's and con's of rooting this specific device (Xperia Sp)?
For example, will rooting disable the offline charging features?
What other aspect of the phone will be unavailable if I root..?
I really want to root but these problems are holding me back.
Can anyone reassure me?
Thank you very much.:good:

Despite the issues some uses face I would say rooting has more in favour for than against.
Before rooting you can use flashtools to backup your ROM into a ftf file so you can use of you don't like it.

But my main concern is offline charging..

i dont see why not ROOT such a great piece of hardware...
I didnt know of any offline charging problems but from my experience ROOTed >>unRooted in every aspect.
And its really easy too if you dont undate to .254 version, just connect cable and use doomlords kit.
I have rooted and unlocked bootloader and everything works fine so dont be afraid and ROOT! :good:

repair with SEUS or PC compagnon
I have rooted my SP about 10 times give or take
The last 3 days i kept changing and trying roms and flashing kernels(i relocked and unlocked my bootloader 2 times) (most used program in my PC was flashtool )
But thats just extreme so i slowed down. Overall as zolaisugly said rooting helps you and dont mind about the small bugs that can be repaired easily
Also to make your decision easier you can use these apps : Titanium Backup , Greenify , Light Flow (helped me a lot) , Folder Mount , Link 2 SD !!!!
It just worth it !!!!
so i have a xperia sp with stock rom.id like to know what all problems can be caused by rooting the phone.and after rooting the phone, will the LED light strip stop working?

No ofcourse not (; don't worry. Nothing will be disabled, and for the offline charging bug, just make your own ftf from a repair with SEUS and you'll flash a bug free kernel when done rooting .254

Mere rooting of the phone does NOT give problems.
Unfortunately, with the advent of 4.3, "mere' rooting is not possible unless you install pre-rooted "custom" roms.
A few roms are simply "re-engineered" stock to allow root and recoveries - these give the least problems.
Other roms are modified, and thus have more chances of problems.
I installed this "near stock" rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2704312 and had no problem
Because I wanted more than stock, I am now on this (the longest I have been on one rom): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2658043
If you have your own stock in hand, try the above roms. If you encounter problems, it is easy to re-flash your stock.
Your greatest challenge would be to downgrade to 4.1.2 to root before you can install these roms.

[Q] Lost X-reality in Kitkat

I was installing iHackers 4 beta sometime before and had camera problem. Camera was not focussing. So i flashed the kitkat baseband separately and then camera worked fine.
Now im on iHackers 4.1 and observed that whenever i go to UB i lose the X-reality just like the jelly bean days !!
I tried restoring many unlocked TAs and failed restoring the engine. Whenever i lock with locked TA restore i get back the X-reality.
How to solve this problem
P.S I triedflashing Z2 x-realty and Z1 x-reality for JB and build prop tweaks! too
