Shows mtp initialization then mtp connected. And the battery shows an x it does seem to charge when shutdown. But never shows fully charged. Anyone have this problem? And sorry if you can't see the x I tried. It shows the same in an original dock and straight connected to usb in computer and charger.

Doesn't support USB charging... only using original charger from a wall outlet.
Kernel modifications can enable USB charging but idk how to do it.

That's what I'm using. The little cube that came with it and the black charger. Any other ideas? What kernels can I use? The part numbers are interesting on this thing.not the same as the p7500 etc..

It shouldn't show mtp when you wall charge.

Super stock straight from Samsung.

My friend had this. Samsung had him do a hard reset and that fixed it.
Just did a reset held power and volume and selected factory reset and wiped partition still mtp initialization and mtp connected.

Maybe Odin flash the stock?

Got a link to the Odin flash?

Any update on this? I'm having the same problem, stock kernal. Don't really want to start flashing things.
sammobile.com has your firmware.
something with the tab or the charger is making it think that it is plugged into the usb and not the wall charger, and since USB charging is disabled in the kernel, you are out of luck there.
Im having this issue on i957 on latest Rogers rom. Using a generic cable as my used tab didnt come with stock one. It doesnt indicate its charging but it does verrrry slowly.
Simple answer is likely to get a stock cable but im just waiting for my 7.7 to get here and ill try that stock cable.
Wonder if this app would work. USE AT OWN RISK. Will probably only work on the i957.

Im pretty sure my issue is a combo of something i installed and removed/still have or the fact none of my wall plugs for the generic usb cable put out more than 1.0A. I say it could be something i installed or an issue with the rom because when i hold the power button a few short seconds i get no power menu but it restarts.
May try that app tomorrow though so thanks for that. Really just wasting time since ill have to wipe everything to start fresh for cm10.
Hi... so recently I misplaced my phone. I have Avast installed on it and was texting the message to sound the alarm and nothing... because someone turned my phone off. So I was wondering... is there any app that requires a password to turn off the phone. Ive already googled and found nothing...
Even if there was, a dead battery would still turn off the phone.

Im aware of that... but while the battery lasted I could still track it.
If you're rooted and have Xposed framework installed, there is a module called advanced power menu, that restricts you, or other from power off the device without unlocking, unless however the theif knows the key combo for the simulated battery pull.

Im having an issue with charging while i watch a movie with my phone connected to the tv. Since the screen is on while its mirroring then the battery doesnt charge and always ends up dying before the movie ends
Anyway to make the screen turn off or at least dim.
Btw ive been using VLC and this is the cable:

Note 4 has been sitting in the closet for over 6 months with the battery dead. I bought an Anker replacement battery and external battery charger. Put in the new battery but the phone still won't power on. Any suggestions on how to get the Note 4 to power on?

No download mode or recovery...?
Nope. Tried but nothing comes up. Any way to do it connected to a computer? I don't mind losing the data.

When I plug in the USB into a computer and the phone, the computer makes a sound which somewhat acknowledges that something is connected. But the phone won't turn on. Tried ADB but it won't detect the Note 4 since it's off. Any ideas?
