This is my first time using XDA. I can't post this in development threads, so I'm putting it here.
I am rooted, bootloaded locked, and have been using Existenz. When I updated to Existenz 4.0, (cleared cache and dalvic cache) I got a bootloop. It says SONY then that fades away. If I charge it, the bottom light glows red. If I connect to computer in flashmode (volume down) the bottom glows green. I have TWRP and CWM but don't know how to boot into them, as the thing my xperia sp normally does (bottom cycles through three colors, during which you hit a button to boot into recovery) isn't happening. I need urgent help. Thanks in advance

Thanks, but what would I flash from flashtool (could you link me to a file??). I really have no idea how to get into a recovery. I can't even charge the phone without the bottom glowing green for a bit, then it getting stuck back into the bootloop.

select fastboot
than click on flash kernel to flash
specify the path for the file
click ok and your recovery will be installed..
(extract the file first)
all the best bro..!!! :good:
Do not flash this kernel if you are bootloader locked as you said you were.
Just download a full 205 FTF and start from scratch with towelroot and recovery from dev section. Then reflash existenz.
Thanks

Thanks, do I flash the .205 ftf through flashtool? Do I clear data or cache or dalvic or what? Sorry but I need the specifics . I also thought towelroot only worked for kitkat, are you sure it works for xperia sp .205?
Yes flash through flashtool, just make sure the TA partition isnt selected and then flash using default settings.
Yes towelroot works, ive used it loads of times myself.

can someone please help me, its an emergency. i have stock 4.3 with unlocked bootloader.
i wanted to root it so i used flashtool to flash boot.img like it says here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2573921
but when i flashed it i flashed it with the wrong seting, i chose select kernel to flash by accident then used that to flash the boot.img also i didnt put the superSU zip on my sd card before hand.
i then re flashed the boot.img with the "select system to flash" option and it installed the recovery fine.
so now i can boot into recovery but the phone will not come on as normal. i am just stuck at the sony screen.
i then went to try an re flash original stock ftf, but that is not being recognised by flashtool for some reason.
please help me
thank you

Power down the device for at least 10 minutes.
Get back in to recovery and tick "wipe cache partition" option and select it.
Go to the recovery main menu and reboot the device “reboot system now” option.
Try this..
I did that too. I also wiped dalvik and tried to reboot the phone. It was just staying on the sony logo. How long does the sony logo stay there after s boot like that? Also I dont understand why flashtool is not recognising the stock ftf files?

Before doing anything ... Remove your device's back cover and push the small button for 5 seconds...
Your device will vibrate 3 times.. After that wait 10 seconds and switch on your device...
Try installing a new recovery... Try the doomlord's advanced system recivery or doomkernel..
After installing the recovery try to flash the zip again..
If nothing happens ... Try a stock rom...
All the best !!! Hit thanks if it helped ...

Follow these steps... firstly copy the superuser zip file into your external SD card.. Be sure that your device is atleast 60-70% charged..
1. Flash a stock ROM via flashtool in flash mode.
2. when flashing is done... flash the recovery u want from flashtool in fastboot mode.
3. switch ON the device and enter into the recovery ... (CWM recovery)
4. install the zip ... wipe cache and dalvik cache.. and reboot..
try this recovery..

Hi guys!
I've wanted to install CM11 on my Xperia SP. I unlocked bootloader, flashed kernel and installed a zip from sd, but when I'm rebooting there's only CM logo. I was patient, but it didn't turned on after 7 hours. I made full wipe and format before installing. Could you help me?
Same problem here. I also unlocked the bootloader, did the wipe & format, then installed the zip. (I didn't flash a kernel.) If I remember correctly, there were some error messages during the wipe & format stage. I'll look it up when I'm home, haven't got the phone with me right now.
Come on guys, I know some of you can help me

Well if you are coming from stock directly, I would advise you to flash the kernel first and then flash the rom from the recovery.
Its about some mounts and partitions.

It turns off for me too,but It flashes the file.
OPEN Flashtool
Make sure that you have drivers installed.
Select the thunder icon.
Select Flashmode.
Select your firmware.
Wait for Flashtool to notify you that you must connect your device.
HOLD DOWN the Vol DOWN button and connect the phone(DONT RELEASE THE VOL DOWN BUTTON UNTIL FLASHTOOL STARTS FLASHING/DETECTS YOUR DEVICE AND READS ITS INFO)
You have a but more complex Soft brick,so try my method.
Sent from my Xperia SP using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

YES! Thank you! Flashing a kernel first (I used WilliamsKernel) solved this for me.
Ok so i got problems with using layers manager after applying a theme on my stock rom and later i thought that to go back i should restore my nandroid backup from my twrp so i tried to do that after wiping my cache system and data from twrp i connected my otg but for that moment it wasnt showing my backup but it was showing earlier before wiping so i thought i should reboot into recovery and try again and now its just not booting into recovery or the fastboot mode. Im so pissed its just the sony and xperia logo and after that is just a black screen without any input.
Guys please help me get out of this please its the only phone i have , please.
Thanks in advance and one more if you get me out of this,.
Your phone is soft bricked.. Try using flashtool to flash a new stock Rom on.. In general flashtool will recognize your phone when fastboot will not.. And don't use layers coz it doesn't work in stock Rom..

Put a stock ftf in the C/user/your name/.flashtool/firmware folder. Open flashtool and connect your phone holding vol down as you connect to usb.. Your led should turn green meaning you are in flasmode. Once that's done, click on the flash button in flashtool, select the ftf for your phone and select flash.. Once done, install dual recovery by NUT if your ftf isn't rooted etc yet.. Reboot and your done
If you want to flash CM, your bootloader must be unlocked bro.. Also you must have access to your ext SD card as CM need to go to that to flash onto your phone through recovery using fastboot..

Thanks my phone is booted after using flashtool but i wanted to know what is better stock or cm ?
That's always a matter of taste and an unlocked bootloader.. I personally couldn't care less about the few things that stop working ie bravia engine etc once bootloader is open.. My bootloader has been open from the day I got the phone leaving me free to flash anything a vailable.. But there are others who think stock is ok.. If your bootloader is open, you have the joy of testing all the marshmallow Roms as they are pretty stable.. If you like layers check out tesla or rro.. But please don't try layers on stock Rom again..
