I want to create an app to emulate the touch in the screen virtually (like the Sixaxis Controller), but I don't know if this is possible. The OS allows me to do this? Can someone help me? I'm a noob
Well, some days ago I saw videos on YouTube showing the Moga Controller working on a Windows Phone device. So I was imagining that would can be something like the sixaxis controller for Android. I asked myself if something like this would be possible in the Microsoft OS. Would so cool make an app to connect a Xbox One or PS4 Controller on the phone through the USB port or bluetooth, configure the points in the screen where must touch, and play the game. Exactly like the Sixaxis Controller.
I have almost sure that I'm dreaming so much high, but would cool, wouldn't?
Not sure. You can query the object state for things under a pointer and raise their Clicked events, but I don't know a way to simply just simulate a click or gesture. Anybody else have any idea? This kind of thing is actually pretty common for automated testing, but I've never tried doing it on WP. Maybe see if there's some automation classes in WP and perhaps they can do it.
I can almost guarantee you wont be able to click on *other* apps, though. Just the one that is sending the touch events.
How Moga Controller can?

Ive seen some apps for iphone and the nokia n900 that turn them into a ps3 controller using bluetooth and the g-sensor and i was hoping this was possible on my fuze. it would make typing much easyer and i wouldnt haft to constantly re-charge my controller instead just bust out my phone
Agree
I would also love this app, i just want it for the typing. Using as a controller to me would just be something to show off and not really use. i know the anio can do this so its out there, im just not good with this stuff.
I can make a GUI for this. But not sure how to go about making a bluetooth driver for the PS3

im a bit of a noob but couldnt you use a computer with bluetooth to get ther drivers for the controller? i know the drivers are out there because you can get them to use the controller on a computer running on linux
A program called 'MobileRemote' will turn your phone into a bluetooth 'HID' with Keyboard and Mouse support. It works rather well, and WILL work with the PS3. Only hitch is that it won't work when the PS3 is in PS2 mode. No love for FFXI. ^^;
It won't emulate a CONTROLLER, but it's handy for firing off quick PSN messages or poking around in PS Home.
mobile remote
the problem with mobile remote is that it costs me money i dont have
i dont see the use of buying something for a phone im about to change to a tilt2
which that app doesnt support

Ah, well the support issue makes sense. The cost however - (It's on sale on the MS Marketplace for $2 right now) - is peanuts compared to the usefulness of the app.
Is it possible to get a wired 360 ontroller working with the Note 2? I've seen it working properly with other android devices and can get the pad to work with a custom IME app but not working as a proper gamepad.
Any ideas or is it not possible with this phone with stock rom?

It is not recognised as a native gamepad on stock software. You can use it mapped with USB/BT Joystick Centre (using an IME, as you say). I've used one that way with the Note II.
There was a mod on the XDA front page last week about a mod for the Nexus 7 that allows it to be recognised as a native gamepad, that may work with the Note II also (although it was in relation to another device the brief perusal of the thread that I had made it look like it would be widely applicable).
Are there any pads that are recognised without any messing? I've seen people mention the PS3 controller with an app that gives full analog support, maybe I'll have to get one of them instead.
I've seen some drivers for the 360 pad, xpad.ko and something but couldn't get them to work with my Note2.
How many games work with them anyway?

I used the PS3 controller on my OG EVO 4G with the SixAxis.apk and it works great! It is compatible with everything because as far as the phone is concerned it sees it as another keyboard. So you can even navigate your launcher/apps with it once its enabled. You just have to download an app to your PC to change the MAC Address on your PS3 controller (very easy and straight forward and takes all of 10 seconds) and your ready to go.
I didn't know until I saw this thread that a 360 controller could be used as well. Ill have to look into that. I would rather do something that was directly connected for games because even though the PS3 Bluetooth is cool, there is a slight lag with Bluetooth. I would be interested to see if a wired controller fixed that.
I think game controllers in Android is still very much in its infancy. So many game still don't support the things, and I HATE touch screen gaming with a passion.
Once released, the MOGA will be recognized as a native controller. I'm not a T-Mobile customer but I'm sure you could buy one from them without a plan. They are set to release for approx. $50.
New games will already be mapped to this controller, I would assume that software to make this usable with older games is not too far behind.

So does it just map to key presses like the way I can get the 360 controller to work? Or can it also be used analogically? Is that a word? On the Sixaxis Controleller info it says:
Support as a native gamepad in Android 3.1+ devices. Full support for analog sticks and analog triggers
Hmm, I don't think this is going to be as easy as I was expecting
PS3 controllers work as native gamepads, plug them in via USB OTG and they work without any additional software. Number of games they work in is limited however, only games that allow keymapping or that have inbuilt support for gamepads (like Shadowgun for example). If you use the Sixaxis Controller app then you can use PS3 controllers wirelessly, and also emulate touch as well, meaning the number of games that become playable with the PS3 controller increases massively - see here:

The reason I had to use the SixAxis.apk is because my phone only natively supports Gingerbread and so it needs the software. No OTG support.
I thought I was going to be able to use Joystick Center for some emulator goodness but it crashes every time I try to use it
I might have to try out my Wii remote, see if I can have some luck with that instead, although that doesn't have enough buttons for some games.

Strange, USB/BT Joystick Centre works fine for me.
You can use a Wii Classic Controller if you need more buttons for emulators (does require a WiiMote to plug into though, so cumbersome). If you can track one down the Datel Retro Wireless controller is better.
Strange. Wonder why it's not working for me. It works fine when I first run it and detects the controller but when I press back to save the settings the homescreen hangs and if I try going back to Joystick Center it displays a white screen and never does anything. I have to clear the app cache before it'll work again.
Please, I might be a little slow in understanding but just be patient with me. Just a simple question:
Is it possible to use either controller simply by connecting it with a usb without needing to root my phone? If so which one, if not both?

The Xbox 350 controller for Windows works without Root, but requires the paid app USB/BT Joystick Centre.
PS3 controller works without Root and without any additional apps.
Number of games that will work with either controller that way is quite limited though, only emulators, games with native gamepad support (Shadowgun, Riptide, a few others), and games that will allow control button mapping (like Meganoid). With Root you can do a lot more with PS3 controllers because you can use the Sixaxis Controller app to set up touch emulation, which makes many, many more games playable with the controller.
Well I finally got the controller working with joystick Center. I installed he Omega ROM and it's now working. Shame it won't work as a gamepad. My Bluetooth speakerphone isn't working perfectly with the new ROM though :S
Hmm, I tested it too and my xbox 360 wired usb controller works not the right way .....
I have the N2 smart dock station and the xbox 360 wired controller
Also I bought the BT/Joystick center, here the stick works fine but in gta 3 onlz the left stick to move and rotate works fine. no kezs to jump ......
I use wanam 1.5 rom Android 4.1.1 with redpill .10 kernel
I have tested other roms with 4.1.2 but theres the same problem.
Perhaps this is only a key mapping for the controller.
... the smart dock is awsome !
Has anyone been able to get the wireless USB dongle working via. an OTG cable? This is for a wireless 360 controller. I've seen it working on other android devices...
Moga lacks some buttons. Best hassle free controller out there right now is the onlive wireless controller. It like a cross between the ps3 and Xbox controller. Simple Bluetooth pairing. No rooting required. Downside is that it cost 50 dollars. I've bought scuf controllers though so price was OK to me.
Best controller that works out of the box via USB is a genuine Sony PS3 SixAxis controller. If you want to use PS3 controller's wireless capability you'll need to root and buy the SixAxis app which is well worth the few bucks for it.
My XBOX 360 controller works perfectly in conjunction with USB/BT Joystick Centre.
A great app and well worth the money. GTA vice city plays very well and on the Note II.
I haven't played Need for Speed™ Most Wanted yet but I expect it to change the game completely
Can anyone think of any other good uses for the controller on android as the buttons can be mapped to pretty much any keyboard stroke so im sure there some handy uses
Hey @ All
Simple Little Question.
Is it Possible to Connect the HTC ONE with the Playstation 3 for the Remote Play?!
I just want to get the Ps3 Screen on my ONE
Possible?!
There's no way... :/
Good idea though!
you need a video input card for your pc to view the ps3 screen on your pc... then use splashtop app to view your PC screen on your ONE
yeah this could be a joke sometime ago, but since splashtop uses your Lan to do the "mirroring" of you PC to you Android, if your pc can handle without problem the video input of ps3, and you have a VERY good router and conection, this joke is possible... the only and really problem are the controls, you can play in your house but only because the ps3 controller is wireless, and obviously not out of your house...
I have seen movies playing on my PC in my one, played zelda and borderlans 2 (installed on PC) on my ONE, Is not comfortable but possible, and if you manage low resolutions is a LOT more even possible XP
now imaginate someone make a virtual ps3 controller that could run from a PC, and using a bluetooth dongle can connect to the ps3 as a normal controller, then uses sixasis to asign common butons to the gamepad thru splashtop on the pc...then this joke could be even more possible... LOL i worked a lot today, I'm hella high xDDDD

i was thinking of Taking a closer look at the method of data transmission both through Wireshark ect... and DPI's i got at access to at work, not sure how feasible this idea will be, to Hi-Jack the data trasmission at a lower layer level to the ONE...... not sure the resolution would adjust the the One's screen though.
I searched and didn't see this anywhere else (my apologies in advance if I missed it).
Has anyone tested a PS3 controller with a TF701t yet? I have a TF101 and TF201 and with those, I could use the dock to sync up the controller (if unrooted) or Sixaxis when rooted (I went back and forth). I read in the TF700t forum that there were some major issues getting the PS3 controller to work on some of the newer firmware versions. I'd prefer to wait a few months to root and I'm willing to buy the new dock, but probably 1/2 of the reason for me to purchase the dock is to pair it with a PS3. I got much less use out of the dock with my older two tablets than I had expected.
Thanks.
Works GREAT with Dead trigger 2, with it connected to the keyboard of course.
Before 4.2.1 (I think), you used to be able to enable bluetooth, pair it, and then you could disconnect the cable and the dock altogether and as long as you didn't use the PS3 controller on a PS3 or other device, it would stay paired to the Transformer indefinitely. This didn't require root or any added applications, it worked native. Have you tried that? If you've never done it, check out some of the links for a Transformer Prime or similar.
By the way, I did order the dock this afternoon anyway, but I'd really like to know if they fixed this issue as I much prefer the PS3 controller to Moga. I am also looking very forward to Dead Trigger 2.
Will PS3 controller work with GTS series?
I'm not exactly sure what GTS series you are referring to. I know that there are a few GT Racing games around (Gameloft has some). You should be able to search by "game AND controller". Also, Nvidia's TegraZone app always lists which games it's featuring have controller support. They are mostly going to promote Tegra enhanced games, but since you have a Tegra 4 device, it's probably not a bad app to check out once in a while.
If you aren't rooted, then pretty much any game with built in controller support will work (there are a fair number of these and more all the time). Under this mode, you are at the mercy of the programmer's implementation. In some games, you can map your buttons, while in others, you will have to live with whatever mapping the dev's created.
If you are rooted, you have more flexibility. You can install the Sixaxis App which allows you to re-map buttons, but it also does a lot more than that. You can take a screenshot of a touch-based game and then pretty quickly create a layout in Sixaxis to activate the onscreen joystick and buttons. It works a lot better than it probably sounds. Most games virtual joysticks emulate an analog stick where movement is faster the further you move from center. The PS3 analog sticks can be mapped very well under most circumstances. Playing GTA3 on my tablet, the dev's gamepad support was decent, so at first I just needed to remap some buttons. There is a sequence where you need to defend someone with a sniper rifle and you don;t have a lot of margin for error. The default controller support was almost unusable in trying to control the sniper rifle. However, I created a custom profile using the GTA3 touch controls and sniping worked beautifully. Hopefully this helps you. Let me know which game you are referring to and I will try to test it for you once my dock arrives (hopefully by Friday).

Sorry, I want to mean GTA. Do GTA VC and GTA III support PS3 controller?
Both games have decent PS3 controller support. I played all of GTA3 on my tablet (a really tremendous gameplay value, based on number of hours). I had only made it about 1/2 way through the game on PC about 11 yrs earlier. I completed Vice City on PC so I haven't played the Android version. For GTA3, the stock control mapping is serviceable, although I used Sixaxis to change some of the buttons. The car and foot controls are pretty good once you spend a bit of time with it and shooting is fine too. However, zoomed in sniper rifles were broken (hopefully this has now been fixed in a patch). I got around it by doing a touch screen map in Sixaxis. If you aren't rooted, then just switch over to touch controls for the small number of places where this is required (it is forced in maybe 2 spots). Then switch back to PS3 controller afterwards. It was kind of an amazing feeling to play such a huge game, for so many hours on a tablet.
One kind of funny anecdote is that I was actually playing GTA3 on my laptop in the hospital room (11 yrs ago now) when my wife was delivering our daughter. This was during the long 10+ hour waiting period before (not during the actual delivery). That was actually the point where I stopped as I got too busy and then moved on to another game. 10 years later, and I finally finished the game on a tablet. Still married.
I don't have a New Infinity TF701, YET, but I have no issues whatsoever using a PS3 controller with my Infinity TF700. Not sure what/where you read that there were problems using a PS3 controller with the Infinity, but I've never had a single issue. I use PS3 controllers with my N7 FHD, Asus Infinity, Note 3, and Evo LTE. I've never had an issue with any of my Android devices. I'm really hoping the New Infinity works fine with a PS3 controller as well. What I like about my Infinity is hooking it up to my 55" TV via mini/micro HDMI, and playing games with my PS3 controller! If the New Infinity can't do that, then that would be a deal breaker for me!

So I know that this thread briefly touched on attaching a gamepad (I don't really care if it's Moga, PS3, xbox or whatever). My question is based on having no dock, and using CROMi-x.
The only input i have would be the power for this operation, and i'm assuming i'll use an otg on that usb cord to hook in my gamepad. Is that correct? Obviously i'd prefer to use BT so i can charge at the same time as I play, though i could forego that. Maybe i'm having a brain fart, but am i'm thinking i probably need a usb adapter huh?
Thanks,
Larry

Hello XDA Community!
I own a rooted Samsung Galaxy S3 i9305 (Android 4.4.4). When I connect my xbox 360 controller with an OTG cable, nothing happends. I've tried to connect it before I start a game and while in game. It only starts blinking and nothing else happends. I can connect a keyboard/mouse to my OTG cable and it works like a charm. Is this a common problem? Can I fix it somehow? I've tried to follow some post which led me to download .kl files which I put in /system/usr/keylayout but it didn't change anything. I really want this to work.
Is there noone with any knowledge about this problem?
Hello. Your phone may not be powerful enough like a tablet to be able to run Xbox 360 controller.
And most of the game will support this out of the box without configuring like on PC games.

Well, in this video you can see it works with the i9300, I have the i9305.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrZ-xnzYVLA
And I can see my controller show up and read button activity inside "USB/BT JoystickCenter GOLD".
Basicly I think the controller communicates with my phone, but my phone doesn't understand since it's missing something?
Yes it's funny as I also got the samr model as you. Did your controller flashed rapidly like mine did? Left/Right bumper should swipe to different pages and the d-pad should select the icons you work. This didn't work either.
Try a Bluetooth controller maybe?

Mine flashed rapidly (like they always do.) and my problem is also that my bumpers doesnt swipe pages or select any icons. I have no bluetooth controller and I can get x360 controller to work with apps, such as USB/BT Joystick Center GOLD. But I dont want that, I need "native support" or w/e you want to call it. I want it to work with limelight to play games.
