To start, let me say that I feel like a complete idiot browsing the forums looking for an solution to this problem.
Situation:
- Bought rooted G1 from friend with CyanogenMod with included 2GB SD card. Installed EnochX custom theme.
- Wanted more room for apps/music/videos, bought a Class 6 8GB ADATA microSDHC card.
- Partitioned 8GB card as follows: 1.3 GB EXT2, the rest as FAT32. Copied data from 2GB card to 8GB card (in FAT32 partition).
What happens:
- Powered off phone, removed 2GB and insert 8GB.
- Phone powers up, shows the Enoch splash screen briefly, then the screen goes blank - it's backlit, but only black. Nothing. Waited a few minutes, no progress.
For kicks, I re-inserted my 2GB with all my apps ... none of which work, of course. Most of what I installed is gone, but my custom wallpaper and desktop shortcuts remain.
I would like to revert to what I had previously installed. Re-downloading the apps isn't a problem, but did I do something wrong in the upgrade process? From what I understand the 8GB should be working fine with CyanogenMod...
Again, please forgive my n00bishness ... 20 years experience with computers, very little with cell phones ..
EDIT - nvm, problem fixed itself ...

Everything you need to know and more. Remember to have AMON Recovery 1.5.2 so that the ext partition actually restores properly. Granted this method really isn't full proof. When I did it, I had to re-install half of my apps, which is a huge deal really.
Another simple method you could try is this, go to Recovery > Console > type "utility", then select the option to move apps to SD. Then backup all your stuff, then put in new SD, partition, then do the same thing, but restore apps from SD.
So I actually switched to a smaller SD card (so I can use my 16GB in my Nexus One - coming tomorrow!!). What I did was this.
1. Partition replacement card.
2. Copy files from the Fat32 partition of current card to replacement card.
3. Boot into recovery with current card.
4. Create a Nandroid + Ext backup.
5. Power off.
6. Swap cards.
7. Boot into recovery with replacement card.
8. Restore Nandroid + Ext backup.
9. Boot normally.
100% success, no FC's, no problems, all apps present and working.
Hey!
Just quick question, will this script swap internal/external sd correctly on my rooted Smasung S plus? I'm running out of space for games(especially those, as data for it is saved on internal sd) and applications.
If it won't, can you suggest anything better?
I've got 32gb microSD class 4(should be enough fast), in case it matters.
Thanks for anyhelp.
I have bought a 32Gb MicroSD card for my Mini, I only have 30Mb of internal memory left, can i use part of the MicroSd card as Internal memory, i found a howto but have since unfound it

You should partition your sdcard through CWM. After that, you have to move apps to sdcard.
Also, make sure you have higher class sd card, otherwise it may lag.
U can also use link 2 SD app to link apps to SD
Yo can also create partition using mini tool partition wizard...
Or u can also use s2e on custom rom..

WOW. So Galaxy mini supports 32GB sd cards?
I went to a store and asked for a 8GB sd card but they said that the phone doesnt support it and it will not work. Maximum was 4GB they said.
Damn, I should go and buy a 8GB sd card. But why would you need a 32GB SDCard for Galaxy Mini. It will make your phone so laggy and it will take years to 'Media Scan" to complete.
Cheers anyways.

I recently purchased a nook hd+, went through leapinlar's tutorial on how to boot into cwm, root, and modify my stock nook with a custum rom(carbon) on a 1gb sd card. I just purchased a 32db sd card and I want to know the process or is there a process to put twrp recovery on my nook and be able to boot into it without having to put the 1gb sd card in every time I want to get into recovery. I've searched some but get more confused the more I look and I don't feel like bricking my nook. Can I also boot into recovery with carbon rom? I've tried by going through the power menu, reboot and by turning off the nook and hitting power and the "n" key and neither will get me into recovery. From what I've read I think I have to put the "ovation-sdcard-twrp-files.zip" file on the 32gb sd card but not sure on the procedure. So if any one can give me a dumb down version of what I have to do to be able to keep my 32gb sd card in the nook at all times and still get into recovery like any other nexus or android phone would do, I would greatly appreciate it.
P.S. I have formatted the 32gb sd card with sdformatter but was unsure if I was supposed to use partition software or the zip file for sd cards larger than 4gb.
Thanks again.......

Never mind, I figured out that I never added the 6028 internal cwm zip and that was my problem, now I can boot into recovery.

You'd have to move apps over depending on setup.
Other options, Can clear cache.. And/ or do a titanium backup, wipe phone, fresh flash, reinstall apps+ data ( removes all the old app layered updates and only keeps the most recent )
Last idea, I just did it with an old S5, a 256gb card ( Now 128gb internal + 128gb external running ) Running aosp microg , With plenty of space for dragon raja, ect..
Use apps2sd pro with root and you can partition an SD card to be both internal/external storage at the same time
Hope spit balling some ideas helps ya.. Personally waiting on my new 1tb card, filled up my 512gb already ;(
