I've seen a member reporting that x-reality is not working with unlocked bootloaders on 4.4.4. Is that true?
If x-reality is not working, maybe BIONZ is not working too :crying: Could someone test that?

Yeap...x-reality won't work, for bioniz I'm not sure but I think it's same.
Although, there is a way how to enable both on unlocked bootloader.
Google that, it's on XDA...

weird as they're working perfectly fine on stock 4.4.2 with unlocked bootloader =/ I'll try to find that thread!

when you open a pic on the album app, you'll note that the reds will oversaturate after a second.

just curious, if i unlocked bootloader, is BE2 and download music info not gonna working..? i read some thread says, if unlocked, these feature not working anynore..can anybody comfirm this..? and if its true, will relock bootloader fix this..? thanks..
Mine is unlocked and music info. download works.. Can't tell you about be2 though (i cant see any difference)

could you please confirm if i unlock sony V, apps like trackID will work ??, because i heard that if you unlock , you lose DRM , so some apps don't work, is it true ??

I have unlocked my T and track id still works.
Bravia and download music info will be lost, it's in the terms on Sony website.

it`s unlocked and rooted..
Once you unlock the bootloder you lose mobile bravia engine permanently. Thank me if I have helped

Obviously reading/searching forums is not your strong suit. You should always read all the details/warnings surrounding unlocking your phone, before doing so, which is why my phone is locked and I am only using root and CWM

KA04 Xperia Z revolution ROM has Bravia Engine 2 working on video playback without having to relock bootloader. Probably other ROMs too, but I haven't looked into it.
You really aren't missing much though, it just over-saturates everything. I think it's much worse.

Are you sure, this is not with locked boot loader? because if bravia is gone it's gone. I would imagine it is a emulation of BE2
I also do not see in the change log bravia engine even mentioned, I am sure it would if they have this

I have a xperia Z1. Initially i unlocked bootloader because that time I thought it was the only way to root it.
I flashed the 4.2 and rooted...boom camera didn't work. Seems it's the autofocus that jams the app.
then upgraded to Jelly bean and the camera started to work again. Perfectly.
I recently upgraded to kit kat and now the camera is back to not working again.
I tried to restore the individual camera app but it didn't work
I can't find any others who has the same issue about kit kat and I find that odd,
Any suggestions?

That's a known issue and is mentioned on the Sony website where you unlocked your bootloader
then upgraded to Jelly bean and the camera started to work again. Perfectly.

I suggest you get the FTF for the region, customisation and FW you are on now and flash it using PCCompanion. Find them in the mega collection thread.
If there is not one then you can make one by following the guide in the OP of the mega collection thread

Thank you very much guys. Now I have Kit Kat and functional camera by updating through sony companion.
Only thing I dont have now is root...But camera is more important.

I flashed back to stock using this
C6903_14.1.G.1.534_Generic DK 1276-1249-R5A.ftf
and then I upgraded through sony companion
Voila! As simple as that.
Now I dont have root.
The weird thing about the bootloader is... I had it unlocked. Then I relocked it using flashtool, cause I thought it might fix the camera...Now I cant unlock it again using flashtool. I hit the BLUE button. I reboot in fastboot and I get that window with the Imei and unlock code.
I then hit the unlock button but nothing happens. The program doesnt react at all.

Try flashtool and keep in trying... I had to get the unlock code again and then it worked... But it takes more than one try

I've read several threads about loosing the BIONZ after unlocking the bootloader. Some say it depends on DRM, some say it has nothing to do with. It's possible to regain it after relocking the BL?
What is truth about this?
Unlocking bootloader makes no change to software...just make sure u have a TA backup....

Actually it does make a lot of changes to the software. Just take a look at the stock rom logcat straight after booting. There's a check if bl is unlocked and if it is then it wipes some stuff.
TA backup is very important before unlocking it so u can go back to LB and send your phone in for a warranty. I can't tell what's up with the bionz as I've unlocked my BL and then restored it, but the camera doesn't seem to be as good as it was. That might be caused by 4.4 firmware though. Can't tell for sure.

some unlock bootloader guys confirm track ID work but they cant use update music info feature in walkman app, x-reality stop working, picture quality lower than lockbootloader

I unlocked lost drm keys forever. I relocked my phone using flashtool. Drm keys still not there according to what we know.
But all the functions you mention works. I've compared pictures with ones that comes from a locked bl with never was unlocked. They are the same quality. The other functions you mention works aswell.
And remember now, I don't have any drm keys. But I have relocked bl. I unlocked last night again. And I actually checked these things just to see and guess what. They all still worked.

As you put a Question Mark, I supposed you was asking and not confirming..
I tried an rooted and non rooted X performance and both do NOT have working EQ, Clear Audio, Sound effects etc. I do get sound fine but any change I make within the Audio settings menu does nothing.

IDK.. I had a Xperia Z1s and that thing worked fine. AUdio could easily be changed in setting on any app.

On my phones it had not worked since 4.4.4 in all music apps. But there might be something wrong with this, I don't use it as I want the pure sound

If yes, that mean DRM patch doesn't fully work on .297.
Because I confirm .238's clear audio is work.
On nougat it's functional
locked BL, no root (yet)

I have 2 of these F8132's.. One is fully rooted and I did unlock booloader.. That phone is the one I cant get clearaudio and a few other things to work.
I just updated the other phone to Nougat.. Im going to play with it and see if the clear audio works...
