Probably the same one may be due to you still having root the system may still think you need the update. Hence why it sends it over and over. Don't let that hurt your data allowance. AT&T did that to me a while back. 17 - 592 MB downloads I was on a 3gig plan. Had to fight like hell to get it removed.

Did a factory reset, took update and it finally installed. Ran towel root again and all is well.

He's talking about the native 4.3 update that was leaked to be released on 12/24 for the active. I haven't seen it on my phone as of yet. But I've checked so many times it's making me wait 23 hours to check again..
I fail. A customer came in best buy with an s4a and I did an upgrade check and it said he had an update so I assumed it was 4.3. It was probably mf3 4.2.2. I fail.
Sorry guys. ..

You can get around that by changing the date and time in your settings, if you wish. You can then just change it back after you've finished.

Except that the update will probably fail and you'll have to factory reset your phone to get it to take the update. At least that's what I had to do when the MF3 update came out. I tried all the tricks including changing the date. I went out 30+ days before I gave up. Once I set it back to the correct date it said I had to wait something like 800 hours to check again Once I factory reset it and left it overnight it did the auto-update.
The only noticeable difference between 4.2 and 4.3 that I've seen is Galaxy Gear compatibility for the S4. Maybe a couple things here an there but unless we can root it it's not really a big deal.
Oh, that's unfortunate. I did that last time and it worked for me with MF3...

If you used active root, install Titanium Backup and just clear the data from the AT&T Update package.
Presto! Check for updates as often as you clear the app data.

2014 will update S4 active
at new year i guess they will update this phone.....start of febuary....not even leak rom we can see now cause samsung want to skip 4.3 straight to 4.4........blast
I am done with the bulls**t and hassle of this active. I am going back to my S4 and maybe when they realize that us that are aware of the bootloader issue upon the next roll out, and wont re up on the newest device, they will let it go. I have 3 lines on my account. I use one. I pay 9.99 a month for the 2 just to have upgraded to the newest phone. I use 12- 20 gigs of data a month on just that one phone. Not including what I do in WIFI when I can. I honestly very rarely use tethering to run someone elses device which is the ONLY thing that would cost ATT anything by me rooting a phone and changing it to how I like. The fact of tracking the phone or my usage might be a reasoning but no other carrier locks their devices due to this. so guess what ATT. I'll pay your 250 contract default fee and roll on back to sprint. Should have never left but the Active was to enticing when I lost my s4 and had to buy another device anyway. Like sooooo many people say on this site. RESEARCH RESEARCH BACK UP BACK UP and for everything else...USE LOOKOUT tou find your lost or stolen phone
Besides what has been stated this phone is a piece of ****..I dropped my note like 20 times with no case and it was a trooper I traded it in for this toy and the first time I dropped it it cracked the screen from like less than waist high..wish I had my note back should have been called the not so active

Security Policy Updating Without Permission?

Every time I power on my phone I get notifications telling me, "Your security policy has been updated to the latest version. No further action is needed." It gives me this notification every couple hours for a few days then goes away. I have auto update turned off and I have it set to only update on Wi-Fi networks (I keep my phone on LTE at all times to prevent stuff like this). WTF is this?! Is AT&T trying to screw me again?
Go to settings and the last tab.
This is located in security.
Click it and uncheck automatic update.

Automatic updates is unchecked. I mentioned that in the OP.
Check it, reboot, uncheck and reboot again.

Gave that a shot, but I still get this every couple of hours
What exactly are these security policy updates? Are they just updates for whatever protects my phone against malware it may contract by visiting sketchy websites?
I'm not entirely sure. I never get those notifications.
I am using a custom ROM though... Try seeing what they are through a Google search.

It looks like it has something to do with Knox. If your ROM has Knox removed then that's probably why you don't get them.
I guess I'm stuck with it until I can root again

I think the 4.4.4 is a required prereq to lollipop. So we will get lollipop soon they just decided to stagger the two updates, someone said 2/4 as a rumor for lollpop in another thread

I'm sure it is too, except they won't release 5.0 for another 4-6 months. (Like the 4.4.2->4.4.4 upgrade)
Has anyone with an active gotten an update yet? Just curious
I got the update tonight on my active

Haven't gotten anything on my active yet..I checked Samsung firmware site also nothing on there either.

S5 active screwed again..

At least that's how I felt until I saw the multitude of problems everyone is having with the 5.0 update...

What do you mean "screwed"? Because we haven't gotten it yet?
Definitely better off. Now people who want root will know not to touch the ota and wait for muniz_ri to put something up. Not to mention that more will be done for it when you guys can use it.

OTA 6.0

My phone is completely stock and still has not updated to marshmallow. Is there a reason? It received an update a couple days ago, but nothing really changed that I could see, still on 5.1.1. I know I could sideload OTA but I'm just wondering why it has come?
Thanks

Because it has not yet been pushed to your phone?
That's my absolute best guess.
Thanks. Doesn't matter I guess anyways, I preordered the 6p anyways. I'll be selling this soon
