About Carbon
CarbonRom is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. We are dedicated to fast, stable, and feature-filled roms, honesty and communication with our users, and openness with our code. We like frequent builds, with the very latest and greatest hardware support and fixes. We strive to not only provide you with the best rom we can build, but also to give back to the Android community and our fellow developers. For us, this is about creating something we can be proud of and hope you will enjoy.
Please feel free to look at, build, and use our code on CarbonDev GitHub. and on our Gerrit CarbonDev Gerrit.
We would like to thank CyanogenMod for their device trees, framework/settings mods and their code that was incorporated into this project. We also extend our gratitude to the devs whose code that we have incorporated. Proper authorship has been maintained and can be viewed on our repository.
Special thanks also go to Slim Rom for some of their features, PA, AOKP, and anyone else we may have borrowed commits from that hasn't been mentioned here. If you feel you have been unfairly left out, please - let us know.
While we make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device, family, pets, or perception of reality. We ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash! If you have questions, ask your fellow users or ask us in #teamcarbon on freenode IRC.

Support
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our website. Carbon FAQ
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
Who is Team Carbon?
Find out here:
Carbon Team
Remember, every penny you send to us goes right back into the rom. It's used for hardware, server costs, etc - all the things that help us make Carbon better with every release. Your support means the world to us! If you've enjoyed Carbon, please consider a donation toward this goal. Thank you, and we hope you continue to enjoy Carbon!

Hey everyone, just wanted to make this thread for anyone interested in getting some custom work done for a signature, wallpaper, logo, app icon, etc. I'm a freelance artist with a degree and have 10+ years of combined "digital art" experience as I like to call it. I am not trying to sell anything here, just doing this out of fun and to give back to the community so DO NOT EXPECT DEADLINES! However, If you need work done for commercial use (app icon, etc.) and have a deadline, we can negotiate through G+ as far as pricing goes.
P.S. If you are an app developer and like my work I will be more than happy to make revisions or updates to work I do for you as needed.
IMPORTANT
I am not taking requests directly from this thread, I am making this thread to initially gauge some feedback on people's interest in getting some work done and will have a reserved section under this post where I will post a link to my G+ Community where you can join and make requests.
This will make it easier for me personally to keep track of everything and stay organized.
More info to come on the G+ Community page (pending feedback from the XDA community)
Thank you if you took time out of your day/schedule to read this!

Hi all developers, I wish I could port OmniRom 4.4.4 to the "bq Curie" tablet (from bq, spanish brand), but between all bq tablets, the "Curie" is the most difficult to work with. We (EngelProjektDroid) have ported this wonderful rom to almost all bq tablets, and we want "Curie" users to enjoy it too.
We ask you developers or computer engineers to help us with this hard "fight". "Curie" users are almost the most abandoned users in development,
and because of that I request your knowledge, because as I have understood, we all are one.
We will give access to the main sources of our git concerning the Curie and give directions that are needed or that I can best offer to you.
Here you have the dmesg and the logcat: https: //docs.google . com/file/d/0BwyzeSh2fR-oc3BSWlNPeDY4S00/edit (Join the parts of the link, sorry :S)
My sincere gratitude to all who help out and I think in this case I can speak for the whole community of this humble tablet.
Here are some links of our web and our work, thanks! (I'll post them better when the forum allow me, sorry :S, only join the parts of the link )

Since it sounds like you MIGHT be a developer asking general bringup questions, I'll refrain from reporting this one. (However, per the FAQ, Omni support requests are supposed to go to the device-specific community for your device.)
Since you haven't even been able to provide critical information about your device (such as exactly which CPU it has), we can't help you. Just as a warning: If it has a MediaTek CPU, there is basically no hope of support. If it's Rockchip, it's highly unlikely. If it's Allwinner, it's slightly more likely but Allwinner's media codecs have made supporting even that chip difficult.

Yes, we're a developing team (EngelProjektDroid), but we aren't asking for support for this device.
We are looking for developers to help us to port the Omnirom (unnoficcially) to this RockChip tablet.
If it isn't the place where I have to put this thread, tell me where it has to be and I'll move it.
The tablet is RockChip rk3066,with Mali-400
Is it easy to install a rom? I have that tablet (BQ Curie). Mine has 2 memories to install apps (a primary one with 2GB) and a second with 12GB...
..
Can you share only the front flash fix please and also the link that you share is not working thanks in advance

Man, you did not solve any problem, you are using third party material to gain advantage, In your YouTube video where you explain downgrade from oreo to nougat. the script and the rom that you are using are mine, because the error 11 I left on purpose. Be a man and take or give credit to devs.

It's true who did was Bode327.
First of all, the MAGISK module that you have published as your own was created by me, according to the rules, to be able to promote and use, you should have given credits and thanks to me!

May I remind everyone of the XDA RULES
12. Sharing
XDA-Developers is based on the principle of sharing to transmit knowledge. This is the cornerstone of our site. Our members and developers freely share their experience, knowledge, and finished works with the rest of the community to promote growth within the developer community, and to encourage those still learning to become better. There are those, however, who take advantage of this model and try to make personal gains from the hard work of others.
In order to preserve the delicate balance between sharing for the good of the community and blatant self-promotion, regular members and developers alike must understand (and agree) to the following:
12.1. Give credits where due - Credits and acknowledgements for using and releasing work which is based on someone else's work are an absolute must. Works reported to have no credits will be taken down until proper acknowledgements are added by the member in question;
12.2. Courtesy - While most of the work released on our site falls under the umbrella of open source, that is not the only license model being used by developers on xda-developers. In order to prevent problems, we ask that if you decide to base your work on someone else's that you check the license model being used (as it might not be as permissive as one may think);
12.3. Re-releasing other's works as your own is forbidden. The code that you release into the wild must have something beyond minor aesthetic changes that makes it better than the last. As this can be subjective, kang reports will be reviewed on a case by case basis. If you feel that your code has been kanged, please contact the Dev Relations team (listed below) if you cannot solve the issue amicably via PM. Please understand that you will be asked to provide evidence to substantiate your claim;
12.4. Developers can issue take down requests (by contacting the Dev Relations team) under the following circumstances:
- in-process builds start showing up on forums when the developer is not yet ready to release the work;
- cases in which another developer is too aggressively soliciting donations or misrepresenting the work (kanging);
- unofficial builds where an official build is already available;
In summary, we want people to have access to work and knowledge alike. Sharing is good and courtesy and ethics go a long way.
Developers with questions, comments, complaints, or concerns about our rules (or anything!) should send a PM to our Dev Relations team (efrant or sykopompos) or to a Moderator. We are here to help!
Please read these carefully.

Hello!
I have just noticed on their blog:
"Restructuring of repositories
Those who are following our GitHub might have noticed that we did set some of our repositories to private. As described here in this README.md this is not about hiding our code. Everyone can request to get access to the source code by sending us an email with his GitHub account or if you do not want to share that can even get a zip file with the sources. According to the license terms you are then also free to re-share or make them public on your own if you want. Furthermore all changes to those repositories will still also be public on our Gerrit. Our main motivation for this is to gather knowledge who is using our code and to improve the communication and teamwork with other fellow developers and interested people. And it would be awesome if this leads to more developers contributing their changes and building together better things in the future.
Posted by maxwen on 2020-04-18"
"The repositories in omni-private are only accessible to registered users So if you want to use those please contact us by email to [email protected] with a short description what you want to use them for. Send us your github account then we can add you to the group that has read access to those repositories.
Changes to those repositories are still accessible on gerrit"
How do you comment on this? I am quite new to the ROM world, so I do not know if this is a common and normal practice... Is it? I find it quite strange...
Do you guys think this could be somehow problematic transparency and trust -wise?
btw..
I am ex-Lineage user... How would you compare official Omni and official Lineage OSes and their team from the point of privacy, security and trustworthiness? I have read some comment about bad attitude of admins on Omni Telegram group. Cold this be a bad sign?
Thank you for help and great work
