This is a general discussion thread for "Cyanogen Mod 10 (CM10)" for the Sony Xperia T (LT30p) aka "Mint"
Original Dev Thread Here
This is NOT for cm10.1 (4.2+ JB). A discussion thread for 10.1 is HERE
Credit to FXP team Bin4ry, Defer, Kali, Jerpelea
Also credit is due to many other Devs for their tireless work on CM and specifically for Sony devices including but not limited to:
Codeworkx, Androxyde, DoomLord, tilal6991, Entropy512....This list could go on but I'll stop here for now - pm me if you think i should add specific people.! (I don't actually know who all these wonderful people are!!!)
I have mailed people from time to time and found everyone here at XDA to be very helpful, but I have also seen people asking the same questions as me, just in the wrong places or without searching.
So this thread, like any other of it's kind, is just to try and direct a bit of this traffic away from the Development thread.
Please use this thread to ask questions, share knowledge or just state an opinion - so long as you are not inconsiderate, condescending or outright rude - anything goes!
We would all welcome insights and advice from seasoned users or indeed veteran developers, although FXP will most likely not read this often, if ever - so please don't ask them direct questions here!
Personally I don't know much at all about CM10, I am only on my 2nd smartphone having come from an Xperia X10 running CM7.2 - so I hope to learn stuff here too!
Thread Basics:
~~can I install this rom with a locked Bootloader~~ ~~NO~~
~~can you tell me when **** will be fixed~~ ~~NO~~
~~slow download, can you mirror?~~ ~~NO~~
~~can i use sony launcher/timescape/fb intergration on this ROM~~ ~~NO~~
~~can I ask a question?~~ ~~YES~ as someone once told me "Posing a question per se is not stupid. Posing a stupid question is"
Always back-up your current ROM
Nobody here is responsible if you mess your bond phone up, all ROM's, even the best ones, are used at YOUR OWN RISK
Logs, Screen shots, ROM version, apps used or conditions underpinning any questions usually result in quicker answers!
Please comment or mail me with any ideas to improve this thread, it's my 1st real attempt at trying to contribute in some small way to this wonderful community
FAQ:
1 where can I download the latest FXP release? download page on FXP site
2 How do I install? FIRST TIME : Follow this instruction
information about flashtool, fastboot, cwm recovery are widely available. you could Start here
__ 2.a If you already have unlocked your bootloader (which you will need to have done to use CM10 Duh!) AND already have a working Recovery, you only need to use the "install from SD card" option in recovery to install this Rom - thanks to schaggo for pointing this out. However:
__ 2.b It is known that if you are coming from a Stock based ROM you will probably need to format your SD card(s), apart from being time consuming this is not a big deal - just have a back-up of your card contents on your computer, format your card(s) from within the rom or with recovery, then copy your contents back to your card(s)
3. Where do I get Gapps? Try here, you need a 4.1 apps file
4. What is CM, where can I find out about it? Start here and use google for further information.
5. Where can I find more info about FXP? Here is their homepage
6. Where is the Changelog? Here, lists current release and progress for all supported devices
7. How do I report a bug? Here, device, release and issue will be useful information
More to be added as and when...

Good initiative! I installed CM10 after one month of using original ROM and after almost 2 weeks of CM10 I can say it was a wise decision. I am on FXP 150 and most of the issues are fixed. Still waiting for NFC (though I don't have the tags yet) but everything else is OK. What I miss is the original Album app of Xperia T from latest firmware. I tried to install it but it's not working for me (run the installer, the app is not seing the sd card, through CWM or copy to /system/app and changing the permissions, the app stops). Anyone tried? Any hints on how to make it working?
Battery is OK but I am using Google maps that is eating 40-50% of it. Any hints on how to decrease this and still use Maps?

Thanks for getting things started!!
I will update posts 2&3 in the next couple of days, especially with any fixes that are found for things like album..
I would also suggest checking out other Xperia forums of cm10 for app ports, for example the S forum might have already managed it, I just haven't had time to check!!

Ok, If this is not answered soon i will re-flash cm and check - i suspect there is an option in CMsettings, also is possible with apps like titanium backup.

have you formatted your SD card for use with CM? I read that people were having problems with ext.sd card storage and that you needed to back-up your files, wipe and format card in cwmRecovery and then transfer your files back - then you should be able to move apps to SD

I hope that helps
Hello all.
Quick question about flashing the kernel.
When I first installed the rom I used the fastboot.exe in command prompt to install the boot.img file as per instruction on op.
Am I right in thinking if there's an update to the kernel I don't need to go through that process again because it will be flashed in cwm with the rom? Or will we be told to flash the new kernel using fastboot.exe in the changelog?
Cheers,
Lunar.
Sent from my Xperia T using xda app-developers app
You usually are told when there is a new kernel to flash, changelog will say something about kernel update.
Cwm does not flash kernel, only Rom

Thanks for the info.
I just thought I remembered when I had the x10 the fxp were trying to work out a way of flashing kernels without flash mode. It was quite a risky process though.
Also it looked like fxp151 had a different boot.img to the one included in fxp148 (the first one I flashed), so I flashed the boot.img again from the later release and it had 141212 as the date.
Maybe just me.
Cheers for the info.
Lunar.

No problem, I too came from x10, I remember I think fxp bricked one by trying it!

Auf few questions:
Fxp is not official Cm10 right?
Where is the official thread with a buglist / changelog of the stable Cm10 Version for example?
On get.cm I can download nightlies every day and the stable version too but I have no idea who is working on it and how the process is going...
I'm a bit confused since I thought codeworkx and others own this phone and are working in Cm10 support??
Gesendet von meinem LT30p mit Tapatalk 2
It's of course the best os because it's the newest..
But it's faster than official v20a
I didn't find any bugs (for my usage) at the nightly
So for a nightly I can use it.
Even gaming is better! (for me) GTA III runs faster in my opinion
So CyanogenMod i should suggest usig it!
can't agree more

I find using the AOSP 4.2 launcher to be MUCH smoother than the Trebuchet launcher in CM10.1 - I actually felt that Trebuchet was quite laggy.

battery drain so fast....device heated.....no custom kernel....
I'm not having this I can get a full day with CM10.1
My experience with latest build is awesome, everything is pretty stable! Now everything's working hopefully they start focusing on kernel features and performance

impressed by the 'vanillaness' of system and settings.
battery saving wise i'm not experiencing any.
That's weird... My battery is three times better than it was on stock. CyanogenMod is working out so much better. With future improvements and a new kernel we shall have a worthy contender to beat nexus 4.
Sent from my Koala via the XDA App.
on cm 10.1 i have a fast battery drain. with light usage, my battery died after 9 hours. maybe i should do a reset. other features are great. better performance and gaming ^^
PS: sorry for my english...
Hi guys,
I've managed to flash the latest cm11 nightly.
I find that the default camera app doesn't save to external sd card.
Are there any Sony Xperia z camera around I could install back my phone?
Or could someone recommend me another camera application?
One question, is this meant for XperiaZ?

Email the dev, he is fast with hotfixes
For moving games to my SD card I flashed the necessary zip files and installed xposed installer. Then I searched for obb on sd in the modules section, installed it and did a full reboot but before booting I cleared cache and Dalvik cache. Then I downloaded whichever game I want that uses obb. When It finishes I just move the folder containing the obb file to sdcard/android/obb/*here* ..... Did this using Titan prime rom 1.1.2 on xt1063 ....I have not been able to get link2sd to work either, it wouldn't mount the second partition of my sdcard

Hi,
I am running Neo's Homebuild of CM12.1
And right now I am running into space problems.
As you know the internal storage of the XV is formatted as 2GB and 4GB partitions. System and Apps are installed onto the 2GB partition. The 4GBs are mostly unused, since I save my pictures to en external SD-card.
Now I was wondering if it is possible to change the filesystem layout to have just one big internal storage to solve my space issue.
Kind Regards

this is more risky (if you do mistakes) then our method... also you can get even more space from your external-sdcard
