I have a telus HTC ONE M7 and trying to S-OFF.
Bootloader is unlocked. Custom Recovery TWRP 2.6.3.3. AHRD 71.1. HBOOT 1.56
Can't get S-OFF with firewater or rumrunner or moonshine.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Been reading and searching for a few days now, but no avail.

Then you will cannot s-off for now no matter what you try.
The message is very clear.
I get the same message.
We must wait for something new.
Only real hope is sunshine which is an app that can s off the m8. They keep talking about maybe supporting the m7 in the future

Use rumrunners for s-offing your phone.

My post wasn't referring to which s-off method to use. Yes revone only works on 1.44 but you are already s-off. No need to use rum runner if already s-off.
I was replying to OP when he asked if it was possible to root with stock recovery. IT is quite possible, I have done so myself.
I'm trying to s-off my HTC One hboot 1.56 . But I tried both firewater and rumrunner and both failed. Does anyone know a different way to s-off my HTC one?

If you got the whelp message in firewater without it even trying then you can't get s-off, there's a lot of us in the same boat, myself included.

There used to be moonshine and revone but they are for older hboots, they don't work on the newer ones, unfortunately we just have to wait and see, a friend of mine had a HTC one XL and in 2 years of having it never got s-off
Guys yesterday I tried to gain s-off on my International HTC One with hboot 1.57. I tried 3 methods including; Firewater, Rumrunner (no firewalls etc.) And revone. Any help? And btw revone says it's successful, but s-off doesn't show on the bootloader. Any help would be appreciated

Your hboot makes S-OFF difficult. You can try this method listed in this post if you are in the UK.
Yep I'm in the UK, but I'm not willing to pay as I'm only 14

Your best chance is with firewater. Go to the Guide on Firewater and review the last four or five pages to see what is working for people with hboot 1.57 and try the various combinations. Good luck!
Well I've gathered from this that sunshine is the only way?

If you get the whelp this sucks message on firewater then yes only sunshine will work. $25 isn't that much
You can try to flash an older FW, like 4.1.1 or 4.2. I also had problems to make my m7 4.4.2 S-Off, but it worked after I've flashed an older Maximus HD Rom.
Detail in my OLD post :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one/help/stuck-htc-screen-phone-kernel-t2863526/post55164999#post55164999
I would try bulletproof kernel see if that works. You can always use sunshine. It will cost $25 but it should work

I already try bulletproof, and I did not want to pay $ 25
Well. Either keep trying different combinations of Rom and kernel or use sunshine. No other options

Hi, any updates on the tests?
I was able to get S-off with firewater on my first attempt on HBOOT 1.57 on my HTC One m7 Sprint. Re download the file and try again maybe.

Your only option for s-off is Sunshine app which may not work with Viper. A stock or close to stock Rom is best. But there's certainly no harm in trying it with Viper first. It won't do any harm. It will either work or it won't. :good:
If it doesn't work with Viper. Make a nandroid backup of your viper Rom and flash something like ARHD OR maximums hd to get s-off then restore your nandroid to get back to where you were :good:

Just download the sunshine app. Install it and run it. It's that simple. The app will run some tests to ensure it can s-off your device. Then it will ask you to pay the fee. Once you've paid the device will reboot and be s-off ?

Not with hboot 1.61. Only method is sunshine app. Rumrunner only works for hboot 1.55 and below and Revone works with hboot 1.44. But HTC patched hboot 1.56 and above against both methods.
Sunshine costs money to support continued development to keep it updated against patching. That's why it's the only method that still works.
