Hello dear members of this forum, I do need your help.
I recently updated my samsung galaxy s3 mini to Cyanogen mod. So right now it's running on an Android Version of Maclaw ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2521593 )
Even before this, I've discovered a small error in my phone's camera. Or in combination with dropbox?
Well, here the story:
I've been taking pictures and I have the automatic picture upload to dropbox. This means, Dropbox will rename the pictures according to the date and time it was taken.
Unfortunately, all of my pictures are (according to dropbox) taken on january 1st, 1970, 1o'clock. All of them. Does anyone have the same problem or any idea how to fix this?
There is no "taken"-date in the exif data. Only the "created" and "changed" time.
Is there anybody who might be able to help me?
Thank you very much
It's fixed. With recent update from 4th of August it works perfectly fine.

Hi all,
I've updated my Galaxy Tab 10.1 (Wi-Fi) to a new version (the one with a custom Sumsung skin) and now the Calendar app (which I use quite heavily) is partially broken: setting a different "First day of week" does nothing in week view (the month few does appears to display correctly). It's quite a problem as in my region, Sunday is not only the first day of week formally - but also an actual first working day, and the half-sized space at the end of the calendar doesn't really help, even leaving along the fact that it does have to respect the setting and display it before Monday. If anyone curious - I've attached the screenshots to demonstrate the problem - one from week view and one from month view, both with Sunday set as the first day of week. I tried to report a bug to Sumsung but couldn't find any way to do so - Samsung Galaxy Tab support page appears lack any kind of feedback besides writing a review. Does anybody know a way to get a bug report report to them?
Anyway, the real problem is that I'm unable to replace the app with the previous one. I though it should be easy - found an stock Honeycomb Celendar.apk, but when I try to install it, after it asks for permissions and I click "Install" it just says "Application not installed" without any additional info. So how do I get the damn thing replaced with a working copy? Or maybe there is another way to fix the problem I have?
I've noticed that on my bionic the google+ instant upload feature will not work if the camera is set to save pictures to the sd card. Once I change the camera settings to save pictures internally, new pictures will upload just fine.
Anyone have the same issue? Is there a known fix for this other than saving internally?
Yes, I have exactly the same issue.
It might be related to the last update of google+.
In addition, my videos won't upload to google+, despite it worked some weeks ago .....
Known bug in latest version of Google Plus
It seems there is a bug in the latest version. Thay are aware of it and will fix it for the next update (hopefully).
I have found this in google plus forums (I am not allowed to post the link )
"Hi all, I wanted to clarify something that I think has become a little unclear regarding instant upload and the new app. I certainly take some blame for not being more explicit:
1. Instant upload of photos from SD card: our team is aware of a bug in the new app that is preventing this from being possible. We are committed to ensuring that instant upload does in fact work for photos from the SD card and are working on a fix for this issue as soon as possible.
2. Instant upload of videos (from SD card AND other storage): this functionality is not supported in the newest version of the app. But, we've heard many users asking for it to come back, so our team is talking about providing it again as soon as possible.
So, stay tuned for a fix to the photos-from-SD problem. And, let me know if there are other issues you're confronting with instant upload!"
I rooted my Z3C and everything is working just fine but suddenly Instagram won't let me upload videos. I can upload the same files via iPhone so it's not a matter of codecs.
I tried to empty app cache and erase data with no luck. I'm running the latest Instagram version. What else... oh yeah I have Instwogram installed. Any help would be appreciated. I really don't know what to do here.
Thanks
There are many people all around the internet with this issue and nobody solved it.
Little update on my side: I updated my device to the latest (rooted) android version and joined Instagram beta testing to get the latest version of the app. It still does not work, I can upload photos but not videos! Same account, same files work on other devices (iphone and android).
THIS IS NOT A "BUMP ONLY" POST. I'M NOT UPDATING PREVIOUS POSTS BECAUSE THIS ADDS INFORMATIONS TO THE THREAD.
I tried to fix permissions with lucky patcher, tried to move instagram in system apps... nothing. Uploading videos with InsTWOgram (Instagram clone) does not work either.
Can a dev tell me where the problem could be (see links below)?
Can anyone try these steps (I can't as I'm running a business account)?
- Open the Instagram app on your device
- Press the “Profile” icon
- Click “Edit Your Profile”
- Edit your name
- Edit your username (I know this is a bit of a bother to do!)
- Edit your e-mail address
- Change your password
- Click the blue check mark in the upper left hand corner to save your info

Not to mention all the comments in Play Store and threads I couldn't find because I do have a life. Please refrain from sending lulzy comments like "uninstall Instagram, problem fixed" and such, this is not about posting pictures, people have business account on Intagram.
I've switch to a Z3 since I made this post.
Still having similar issues, the last video I tried to upload (and it worked but it wasn't easy) was a short export from premier pro.
I can post the export details and video file later if needed.
Anyways the file is on my phone and I'm trying to upload it to instagram.
On wifi it starts uploading but stops at 50%, I retry multiple times then I forget about it.
Next day I'm on 4g/3g and I remember the instagram video, check the app and its still there trying to upload.
Now at this point my 4g/3g is speed limited cause I went over my data cap on tmobile. I don't remember if tmobile limits you to 3G or 2G speeds after you go over the data cap.
Anyways the entire day I keep hitting retry but at some point while I was driving to a friend's house the file had uploaded.
Weird...
Hi XDA!
I am a recent convert to Android from many years of iPhone usage. I made the plunge by investing in what like among the best if not the best Android phone available, the Note 8. So far I am a very happy camper!
That is until today. This is my fault and not the phones fault however. I forgot the password to the phone which I had written down IN THE PHONE ITSELF (facepalm). I actually bought a notebook to write the password down in last night for this very reason. Lovely coincident happened: My phone discharged during the night so now I need the password to get in. To my question of the day then:
How would i go about opening an .SNM file on a PC?
I have such a file stored in a backup of the phone: C:\Users\**\Documents\samsung\SmartSwitch\backup\SM-N950F\SM-N950F_\SM-N950F_20171104133032\SamsungNotes\SamsungNote.snm.
I am assuming this file contains the notes. Stupidly the passwords were jotted down with the (wonderful) S-Pen so I cannot simply go through it with a hex editor/text editor and look for my files. I need a proper extraction tool/process of some kind to get the images/notes out.
All i have found on the internet refers to opening the (older?) .SNB files which apparently are simply .zip-archives.
Any help would be greatly appreciated indeed!
Thanks in advance!
Best regards,
Andreas
Hi again!
Just wanted to share an update incase anyone else is googling after getting themselves into a similar situation or for any other reason need to open their samsung notes files.
What I ended up doing was restoring my backup using Smart Switch to another device I have access to. An S7 to be more precise. One problem that bogged me down however was that the Samsung Notes app on the S7 did not properly load or even recognize the notes it received from the backup, the notes originally made on the note 8. It turns out this was because the note 8 for some reason receives a newer version of samsung notes (2.XX instead of 1.4).
After fiddling around with the backup settings in the .xml files i managed to get it working by sideloading the newer version of Samsung Notes downloaded as an APK and installing that. Then the S7 would load the notes and I could access the info I needed
Silly me for getting into the issue but I am happy I managed to fix it!
Hi All - my first time posting here!
I got a new samsung watch 5 pro with a focus on the ability to upload gpx files for custom hikes. The issue I encountered is that if a path starts and ends at the same spot (like 90% of day hiking paths) - the hike auto completes. Is this a common issues with Samsung wearables/5 Pro? Any tips would be appreciated. Support went through the usual uninstall/install and now is trying to make me send the watch in.
Thank you in advance!
Hello,
I have the GW5 normal but I could try. How do you upload the gpx files?
