hi guys
I tried to install a custom rom on my HTC One X PLUS. I am new to this and it looks like i kinda screwed up. i used "HTC One X+ AIO Kit By Hasoon2000 v2.3". I have now this "CWM-based Recovery v6.0.2.7" on my phone. i can't boot the normal OS anymore. everytime i reboot, this cwm recovery shows up. when i try to install cyanogenmod (cm-11-20140705-NIGHTLY-enrc2b.zip) by "install zip from sdcard => choose zip from sdcard ==> ..." i just receive:
Code:
set_metadata_recursive: some changes failed
E:Error in /sdcard/0/cm-11-20140705-NIGHTLY-enrc2b.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.
i have no idea what to do. can anyone pls help? is it still possible to reset everything to get my phone working again?

You might have better luck in the HTC One X + fourms, this forum is for the HTC One M7.

Now updated and working!
Note: The recommended install method for fake-flash is now 'ROM Manager' on the Android Market.
Koush and I have been working on / stumbling through getting recovery running on a Legend without using a PC for devices rooted with a test image. The same technique also applies to the Desire... and after a lot of work and debugging... presenting...
fake-flash!
Fake-flash using a similar concept to the original root method, it launches a recovery image from the test image recovery, but instead of pushing the files from a PC, the files are extracted from an update.zip on the SD card. Here's how it works...
Preperation
Download the fake-flash update zip from one of the links below
Copy the update.zip to the root of your SD card (the name MUST remain as update.zip)
When you want to launch the recovery image
Turn on your device with 'volume down' pressed and select 'Recovery'
When the exclamation mark appears, press and hold 'volume up' then press 'power'
Select the second option, 'Apply sdcard:update.zip
That's it, ClockworkMod recovery should launch!
Neat eh?
DOWNLOAD
Just to caveat this initial release, we've yet to carry out extensive testing and you are constrained somewhat by the limitations of the stock kernel (e.g. no support for EXT4).
That's it for now... enjoy... i'll update this post as further advances are made. If you'd like to support Koush's work, consider buying 'ROM Manager Premium' from the Android Market.

i got saem errĂ¥r Q.Q!
question
What does it really do excatly, i am a newbiee here. Sorry about that.
if your phone is rooted you can flash a new rom without connecting your phone to the computer
It works only on rom 1.22 i think...
you probably need a goldcard for that, so keep it in mind
still not working?
Thread disapeard on modaco :s
To someone this procedure works?
From that that I have understood it is not the FakeFlash of the Desire of the Legend?
And accordingly on the Legend it doesn't work (at least on my Device )
Would like us a FakeFlash I suit for the legend
I cannot make it work.
Just like other i receive this error:
E:Error in /sdcard/update.zip
(Status 0)
Installation aborted.
in the modaco topic (http://android.modaco.com/content/h...unching-recovery-on-your-device-without-a-pc/) is written in bold:
Note: The recommended install method for fake-flash is now 'ROM Manager' on the Android Market.
I tried but ROM Manager:
Clicked on "Flash ClockworkMod Recovery"
it pops up a selection Menu with "Confirm Phone Model" (the only option is HTC Legend)
then it downloads the fake-flash recovery e returns me "Successfully downloaded ClockworkMod recovery".
When i try to reboot in recovery (trough ROM MANAGER options) i receive a blackscreen with a device in background and a question mark. After some seconds it restarts.
Help!
I have the same error.
Anybody asked Koush?
May he works on it?

Great!
Installed with "Rom Manager" from market and it works perfectly!
Thank you very much!!
Nice!!
Backup works also
Super!!!
Now I can change between my favorite ROMs without computer.
I wanted to install latest cyanogen rom(SPQ Rom 0.6).
I went to recovery, have psf freedom recovery, and wipe data.
Then when I wanted to install zip, chose the rom and it wouldnt install.(error messege at bottom) Anyway now I can't go past the tattoo startup image before boot image. Can't do usb mass storage.
Is there a way to install new recovery image via fastboot, hboot.
Also tried the reset with phone turned off.
Nothing worked. Doesn't wipe correctly now also, "error mounting /sd-ext/!
Skipping format...
error message is as follow:
assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device") == "bahamas" l l getprop("ro.build.product") == "bahamas l l getprop(ro.product.board") == "bahams"

re:HELP
I am not an expert, but i think it could be from the SD card.
What partitions do you have on it?
Don't have any, because of the cyanogen rom. Do you think I have to format sd card?
If you did not partition the SD ,then in my opinion it is most likely from the recovery. But again that's only my opinion.
Sent from my HTC Tattoo using XDA App
I'm thinking the same, because I flashed that psf freedom recovery when it were in its developing stages. When I wanted to flash new rom with that recovery it messed up my phone.
Is there a way to install new recovery via hboot?
went through command prompt. This is what I have so far.
fastboot
fastboot flash recovery recovery.Tattoo.alpha2b.Mvx.img
<waiting for device>
Solved
I solved my problem by finding my backups of my sd-card om my computer. Luckily I had 1 nan backup and restored to that. Works like a charm again at last.
Also had to flash new recovery via adb, didn't want to work with recovery tattoo(from root tattoo in 1 click).
I have this problem too using the PSF recovery and I dont have any nandroid backups
Hello first,
I wanted to yesterday, the new update of CM7 make up the v40 version.
Well but every time I get an error message when CWM, if I make a "Wipe Dalvik" do
Error message: "E: unknown volume for path (/ sd-ext) ".
and if I want to update the instalation, so on "choose from sdcard zip" then stands as an error message

E: Can not open / sdcard/download/cm40.zip (bad) Installation aborted
I've really no idea which lies ahead. The updates before they all went without problems but now not any more why whatsoever.
Ignore the /sd-ext message, that's nothing.
My guess for the other error is that you just got a bad download.
I've downloaded twice and it came the same error. I've also tried to install the v39 and also did not work. And there is always the Android comes with a triangle where a !
Odd, that graphic sounds like the stock recovery, not Clockworkmod. What version are you using? I know 3.0.1.4 doesn't get on with CM7, but it should give an assert error, not that.
Okay the problem is removed. I've now downloaded the v41 and it worked. thanks again
do you have any idea how to back to optimus 2x official firmware?
clockworkmod, adb pull, or romdump

Long story short,
Purchased a Tmobile HTC One, Planned on taking it over to Straight Talk.
I have not asked any questions because I can usually figure this out.
Facts:
Unlocked using All In One
TWRP recovery
Issue:
Keep rebooting once it gets to the HTC One screen with Beats Audio
I am about 22 hours into this and very frustrated, it seems as though I do not have an O.S.

Use the ADB Sideload option(follow the directions carefully) in the All-in-One Toolkit to load a ROM.

Hmm. Have you attempted to format data while in TWRP recovery? Also a few more details please--once you had unlocked the bootloader and installed TWRP, did you attempt to install a ROM from that point or boot into stock? If it's the latter, have you attempted to fastboot flash a boot.img from a stock ROM/NAND backup?

I have always had better luck with CWM clockworkmod recovery than TWRP for these kind of situations. So you might want to use the all in one and put Clockwork on. Also when sideloading a rom make sure to rename the rom something nice and short like rom.zip no spaces no numbers just simple and short or it will fail.

1. Have NOT tried to format data
2. Originally tried to install cm touch, which at that time seemed like it didnt work (could not boot into rom) so I tried to install TWRP for some reason
3. I have attempted to boot stock rom, but always gets hung up on "beats audio" audio screen

1. Loaded ClockworkMod Recovery v6.0.3.1
2. Rebooted to recovery
Result:
Loaded CM Recovery and at the bottom it says:
"E: Cant mount /cache/recovery/command
E: Cant mount /cache/recovery/log
E: Cant open/cache/recovery/log
E: Cant mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E: Cant open/cache/recovery/last_log"
Q: Should I try formatting the drive

Two things here:
1) Clearing Cache fixes the cache issue you see...
2) To fix the boot loop, you need to `Format /data and /data/media` under `Mounts and Storage`.
That should fix you up.... side loading wont fix a bad /data partition.

It sounds like you have a ROM loaded if its cycling at the BeatsAudio screen. Yes, you can do the ROM now. Make sure you do a factory reset before installing the ROM (or after I suppose)

Are you using Mac OSX? What is the format of the external_sd card? Is it formatted FAT, FAT32, or EX_FAT?
Clockworkmod does not support EX_FAT, so you must format it to FAT in order for it to mount. OSX can't format FAT32, so you must format FAT.
