EDIT: ...and suddenly it works again...
Anyone else got this strange issue?
Started yesterday, all of a sudden.
Any app using my Google account or Googles own apps are not working on WiFi, only on the mobile network.
Dropbox, Gmail, 500px, Chrome, feedly, Play Store, YouTube etc, not working.
But Facebook, Email...works.
Really strange. Haven't installed any new apps or made any changes to anything. I have rebooted several times.

I updated the facebook app and I noticed that it's not synching my contacts anymore. I tried to go on the account & sync section of the settings and it doesn't allow me to add a facebook account. The option is there but when I press it nothing happens.
Is anyone else having this problem? Is there a way to fix it?
I have had the same problem with CyanogenMod for a while.
I uninstalled Facebook, and installed it from market again. And voila!
However, to uninstall it i think you need to be rooted
no problem for that, I just installed cyanogenmod too thanks for the advice. this is a major problem though for whoever is not rooted....
I had the same problem. (search my threads).....
all I did was log off facebook app and log back into facebook app and it seems to be working fine now.
the facebook app isnt really consistent in general, maybe its just me, but it never alerts me even tho the notifications are ste to "on" and its not as robust as the iphone app but its all good it will happen sooner or later
I have a rooted KFHD7. SW is 7.4.3. I followed this thread to install Google Apps, and that thread essentially directed me to install these apps:
Account And Sync Settings-2.3.4.apk
Google Login Service-4.0.3-239410.apk
Google Play services-3.1.59 (736673-34) .apk
Google Play Store-4.1.10.apk
Google Services Framework-4.0.4-338691.apk
Vending.apk
I also installed Hangouts, Google+, etc.
Anyway, all my Google apps and Google push notifications are working fine. When I install the GMail apk (I just click it via ES File Explorer and I do not move anything to /system/app). it installs just fine. Upon launch of the app, it indicates that it is syncing, but never actually syncs. It just hangs (I waited several minutes).
I tried the latest GMail in the Play Store. I also tried version Gmail_4.5.2-714156.apk.
One I get GMail installed, my KFD will have all the GApps that I want on it. Any advice? Maybe I am using the wrong version or the wrong installation technique?
Thanks...
-T.
Have you tried it with notifications turned off? If it works then, then you're hitting a crash bug when Gmail tries to create notifications. There are a few fixes around the forums. If it still doesn't, I'm not sure what the deal is. It should sync fine.

Well, I installed the latest GMail from the Play store, then turned off notifications. Still looked like it was syncing... then... it worked. I see my email.
Thanks!

Have you tried to login in your gmail account in settings-my account-mail?

Yes, I did that too. So my GMail is now set to sync since I turned that on in the GMail settings.I also turned on notifications (within the Kindle App menu). Seems to be working just fine now and I have not experienced the issue with the notification bar... yet.
Since 5.1 I've had the Google Play Service batt drain issue. Last night I uninstalled updates and cleared data for Hangouts, Play Services, and the Play Store. I logged back in, updated everything, etc and things seemed fine at first.
Today however I noticed that my hangouts, Gmail messages, etc weren't sinking. If I open say, Hangouts, eventually I get all of my messages, but I had no idea there were any. Same with Gmail. Background data is not restricted however, no apps are disabled (aside from Spotlight, which has always been disabled), and sync is on. On the syn screen for Google there are no errors, and it always shows that things are have been recently synced.
Ideas?
Edit: Auto-sync data is always checked/enabled.
Edit 2: This happens on Wifi as well as mobile data.
Edit 3: Actually, it looks like the sync time is not updating (may have previously been triggered by opening other apps)
Hi everyone,
I'm on the latest available Android 5.1.1 firmware (L00C17B851)
When I got the phone it had no gapps at all. I installed Google Play Store from Huawei build-in market app, launched it and entered my google account.
After that I got GoogleContactsSyncAdapter to sync all my contacts from xda. It worked smoothly.
Until I installed Google Play Games. I logged in with one of my games, played a little and noticed that all my contacts are gone.
My Google account is gone as well. Play Store just wont start.
I removed Play Store, cleared cash on Google Play Services, rebooted the phone and set up everything one more time.
I have been living without Play Games app since. Until today when I noticed that "backup to google" function isn't enabled. I turned it on and my Google account disappeared again. Damn!
I know the workaround for this problem, but is there a way to fix this?
I can't seem to sign in to google chrome using my account. My bookmarks and etc. were showing but every time I try to sign it I get the message 'this account already exists on the phone' and my history wouldn't sync. So, I removed my google account and signed it back into my phone.
The google account signed in on my chrome app then it just went back by itself, now I've tried to log in again and it says the same message now with no bookmarks syncing either.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app updates too, not sure what to do from here.
Anybody have any ideas?
same here. deleting the google account or uninstalling chrome does not help.
i manage to auto sign in into all other google aps
This happened to me when I changed my Google password while still logged in on my phone. I backed up via Huawei desktop software and factory reset my phone through recovery and it's all good now. Nothing else seemed to fix it.

Finally managed to fix it! I made sure the app had all the permissions set then I uninstalled all the updates again, this time I signed in first and it ended up working as normal then I just updated the app again and it worked perfectly. Not sure if the apps permission effected it but definitely try uninstalling the updates then signing in first before updating again.

Uninstall Google play services & chrome update first (bring it back to factory pre installed version) then login using chrome first before updating anything.
happened to me before when i update before got chance to sign in
Uninstalling Google play services solved all my problems
thank you this issues solved for me with re-update google play services
Hi all. I also have this issue. Which Play Services do you have to uninstall?
Just give the Google apps permission to your contacts and it will work
Well done all. It worked perfectly. See there sad a bug in the last update
