I've updated my Nexus 7 FLO to version 4.4.4-20140704-flo-NIGHTLY
After reboot the WLAN dies not work.
Is there an Kernel/driver issue?

Problem is we're in the process of getting a new maintainer fully spooled up. There are various techniques device maintainers have available to them that need to be used for certain device maintenance tasks (like a full upstream merge) which aren't normally available to gerrit users.
Andre hasn't quite yet learned how to properly wield his newly-given powers. Specifically, the kernel tree really shouldn't be a fully squashed merge, but individual commits. He reverted the squash but the push of the individual commits failed last time he tried it. He went away for a few days around the same time pulser sorted his access, so the kernel is still backleveled.
I could fix this myself, but I want Andre to do this on his own so he knows how to do it going forward.

Sorry but I didn't understand this in detail. Only that some merges die not work.
Workaround for me was to install Franco Kernel.
Now WLAN works again.
May there are some more quality tests required before merge into nightlies?

No, the issue is that we have a new maintainer that needs to learn some new maintenance techniques. Rather than push the fixes ourselves, we want him to do it, but he's on vacation for a few days.

I just tried to install OmniRom on my Nexus 7 2013 (flo)
Once installed, it is not able to do wireless internet, which is a fatal error.
Will it be posted in this thread, or where should I look to know when this is corrected?

When I last tried this about the 20th July wifi was still not working can anyone confirm its safe to update - I had to fall back to a month old image as I wasn't sure when the issue appeared..

Answering my own question I downloaded a Franco kernal as a precaution and tested it, happy to say the new maintainer has it well in hand by the looks as its all working OK
Okay there's something else going on, quite an odd one this...
After playing with some kernels WiFi stopped working - no great surprise, so I reinstalled the latest nightly that *was* working and now it doesn't ! Even after wipe of data / system install of month old (or latest) and I can't get anything from WiFi...
I've had to restort to using CyanogenMod as I can't seem to work out what's going on here !!!
Any ideas and I'm up for investigating - the only wrinkle is I'm currently using a multirom version of twrp but I'm not injecting it, so that shouldn't matter ?

There's a fixed_wifi_boot.img that needs to be downloaded and flashed in the bootloader. If you've flashed a recovery before, it's similar. Just do "fastboot flash boot fixed_wifi_boot.img" in the right directory.

What does this file actually do?
Will it prevent other ROMs such as CyanogenMod or kernels using googles official binary blobs from working?
Can it be undone ?

The file is in the same location where you downloaded the OmniROM nightly. As for conflicts between other ROMs/kernels, I'm not sure. I imagine there's an official boot image somewhere that can be flashed, maybe Google's stock images install it.

There are a set of rules that every user has to follow, regardless of their contributions to the community. That being said, when I was a newer member, I accidentally broke the rules a couple of times (nothing major) and didn't want the same to happen to someone else. (I never contacted @Divine_Madcat about your other thread, in case you were thinking I did.)

Yep i was tinking to that... so I'm also sorry. The thing is i spent a lot, lot of time on this port, and Divine_Madcat didn't even give me the time to update the first thread with the needed files/informations and ignore my pm which was an offense to me. Well i have to complies to the rules too but was a little chocked on how the thread got mad. Well, let's hope it won't be the same here. So that said i have no problem with you !

While i am sorry you are upset, it was not a slight at you at all. While i do try to keep an eye on XDA while at work, my job does come first and foremost, and i was unable to handle anything here yesterday (what can i say, 12 hour work days suck). As it was, i have literally nothing against you; to be frank, the report on the thread was the first i had even seen.
From my perspective, we had a placeholder thread, which is not allowed, so it was closed. I fully intended to reopen it, but gave my reasons above...

Nobody knows. But there are a few people working on "unlocks" (at least booting an unsigned kernel). Maybe also jcase releases his unlock (which I doubt because of legal issues).

There are a few Users which do have an unlocked Bootloader, this Rom is only for these Users, as stated in the first Post.
I decided to make the rom available in case i loose interest in this device (or if i ever die soon). This way when (if) a root exploit is available then you'll be ready to use it.
Ok... So if there IS a possibility to unlock the actual fireos, please give some hints, instead of publishings Roms that one or two users can install, the rest is completely helpless...

What openweb said was that maybe we should concentrate our efforts in unlocking the bootloader so even greater support can come.
Unfortunately we, the rest of us common mortals (with locked bootloaders) cannot use it.
As you said, this would work if somebody would release the bootloader-unlock , so lets play the waiting game...
The thing is I'm a common mortal like you :/ Like its said on first post, unfortunately, I do not have the tools nor the knowledge to reproduce the unlock, so I share what I can.
I really have to say sorry, if you dont know how to reproduce the hack... Mea culpa. It sounded like the hack is known, but cant be made public because of copyright issues or something like that... Then we have to wait. Nothing is secure when the right person gets a hdx... I have to say, that my actual hdx was rooted with towelroot, even easier than the nexus (less button combinations ) so i didnt expect amazon to be such a **** with newer firmwares.

I just confused myself. Should i be flashing the bootloader, radio, etc from a nexus factory image and then flash omni? I have been using 20150605 build without doing this. Should i do this for the nightlies?

Honestly, I've never used zip verification for all the years I've been flashing ROMs and have never had any issues.
I'm probably wrong but.. My theory is that packed somewhere inside the zip you are trying to flash lies a key, which is compared next a second key once extracted. If they don't match it throws an error and aborts the operation.

I've never used zip verification for this exact reason, and therefore have never looked into it. This sounds like something for the TWRP thread that @Dees_Troy could answer maybe.

Off the top of my head... battery icon customization, volume match orientation, volume wake, screenshot delete, advanced reboot menu, hide usb debugging icon, ambient display customization. Also, Omni is the only AOSP ROM where I don't get force closes when taking multiple HDR+ pictures in a row without pause.

Not sure if feature requests are allowed or not, if not then just ignore this..
But I was wondering if the 5 second home button delay on app launchers (such as Swipepad) is something that may be removed? That'd make navigating the phone much quicker for those of us who do use app launchers.
I saw opendelta mentioned in the main thread but I haven't seen any indication it exists within the ROM. Am I just missing it?

First, I'm attempting to download the Omni 5.1.1 20150725 Nightly (newest as of this writing) and the download is going exceptionally slow (20-30KB/s) on the official dl.omnirom.org mirror. Is there an issue with the server at current or an up to date mirror?
Next, is there an overall feature list for Omni (on Nexus 6)? Many ROMs place a list of their main features as well as any other ROMs/kernels they incorporate (ie based on CyanogenMod 12.1, with latest CM12.1 commits added on every update etc..)).

The server is probably being slow. They just upgraded storage/cleaned it up a few days ago and it has been significantly faster, it might be your connection to the server or something else.
As far as a list of features, there isn't one to my knowledge but you can certainly check on gerrit to see what's been merged recently. Just flash it and see for yourself: highfive:

Omnirom 5.1.1 nightly sudden reboot+supersu freeze+bluetooth headset bugs
I installed Omnirom 3days ago and have to say; nice stuff. runs fluid, batterie's fine and overall i like user experience. BUT
I'm experiencing some bugs.
first of all sometimes there just are random sudden reboots. On stock rom this happened from time to time when battery was below 30% or something so i thought there has to be a powersaving feature or something in kernel that don't works correct.
Then i flashed TWRP+Omnirom and those sudden reboots started happening randomly; regardless of battery.
I googled and found that could be some setting that adapt display brightness(???) and/or some apps bugging/conflicting. and, from previous experience, i know that this could also be a hardware/battery failure(please not; can't send my phone back right now as i need it daily for work and my N5 has a broken touch )
i tried disabling that display feature and also installed and tested if 'Lux' has any impact on that as it, basically, does the same but no change.
i factory reseted my device multiple times and tried to find out what APP could force this but... right now there's only the bare minimum(contacts+ / messages+ / aquamail / maildroid / todoist /calengoo /business calender pro and google stock apps)and still same problem. sometimes even while calling what's very embarassing when having an important customer on phone ...
I gonna try Zen Kernel next just to see if different kernel with different cpu scheduler COULD make any difference.
Then the second bug is my bluetooth headset(Plantronics M165). Can't get it to pair. Before Omnirom this worked very well as it should. Now, most of time he finds nothing and sometimes he finds a mac address of the headset but not the name. Other bluetooth devices are working fine and the headset's still working perfectly well on my gf's HTC M8. Anyone any ideas?
Last bug i experienced is SuperSU. Always an app needs root i can't get SuperSU intercept my choice. I click on allow or deny but nothing happens and after 10seconds superSu autodenies(or allows; depends on settings )right after factory reset supersu just works fine but suddenly stops working. root's still there as i can perfectly tell supersu what to do in its settings. Only the on demand root question can't be answered. uninstalling/reinstalling supersu didn't change anything. It doesn't matter if i install supersu by playstore or by zip through recovery. also unrooting and rerooting doesn't help. only a factory reset helps; for a while.
I don't want to change my Superuser managment as i paid for the pro version ...
Hope to find some help here as it's one of my fav places for everything smartphone related since back in my tytn days
so much knowledge in here.

Some days ago is builded a cm13 ZIP, but it doesnt even pass bootloader.
Here are my commits for device tree. I disabled most likely everthong what causes building errors like Audio and CameraWrapper.

@fritzcola, just got home from work, gonna check out those commits now. Thanks for posting them. ffmpeg has been a pain for me this past week trying to compile CM13 :-/. Gotta love a fresh brunch out the kitchen lol.
edit: eh, those commits have already been merged so problem still persists.

Just run "make clean" and "repo sync". Commits are already merged in source apart from one.
@laufersteppenwolf Can you upload the fixes to a " cm-13.0" branch?
And do you already go further than BL?

Yea, just verified I already have them in the source. Stagefright still being an issue. Need to look at gerrit and see if there is a commit on standby that may resolve my problem. codecs_utils.cpp fails to compile over at external/stagefright-plugins/utils/.

I got passed it finally. Seemed it was just a fluke with no explanation. Got to deal with this problem now. Take note of line 232 specifically. Haven't had time to mess with it yet.

No sir I am not. For another device, forgive me if that caused any confusion. My initial post on here was with regards to ffmpeg. A hunt for an unofficial build on xda brought up a few links and so wanted to make contact with the dev(s) to see if they had the same problem and/or fix so I may compare and possibly adapt if applicable my previous outcome. As for my current issue I do not expect any answer or results from here since its completely off topic from this device. I merely shared it in response with no intention or expectations for a solution. . I did take a look at your repo and saw ffmpeg is obsolete so I removed it from my tree as well since it was most definitely causing my builds to break.

WOW! This is the first build of Lineage that works great on my tab! Didn't test fingerprint but autobrightness and camera is working great. Thank a lot. On T710 by the way.

I flash pico on my phone and tablet, but even stock or higher should work if the builds are from official sources. I also recommend Magisk if you wish to root. If these builds have su root, Magisk simply uninstalls it before installing itself.
bonuzzz, you did what most (self proclaimed) devs failed to achieve and deliver for the T710/715 in the last months! i just installed the ROM and tried it out the last few hours. finally got a clean and reliable android for my T710.
it's working really smooth, no issues so far. everything - including bluetooth and fingerprint - is working perfectly [edit: haven't tried it, since not needed: according to some posts in this thread stock camera doesn't seem to be working properly]. i am really anstonished and amazed by this great initial release, thanks a lot. i hope you keep on delivering such a good work.

For me on my T710 the microphone did not work. So it isn't in perfect working order yet and the battery drains quite fast, but it's miles better than the previously shared builds here on XDA, and most certainly usable.
I also had issues with certain apps not working properly, so I ended up going back to stock for now. (more precisely: the Antutu 3D part and the Focus gallery application).

If you use a third party app like open camera, it actually works really well.
Either way, the microphone doesn't work at all, as in all roms for this device, and sadly it is a deal breaker for me since I use my tablet for video calls all the time.

My twrp recovery is old. I update this and I will try again
Having used this ROM for the last few days on a T710, I experienced a very stable system. UI was always smooth, no serious issues so far. :good:
However, I observed some strange behaviours/minor issues:
Fingerprint unlock isn't always working reliably. Sometimes, when trying to unlock the lockscreen, the finger on the fingerprint sensor doesn't seem to be detected and the PIN has to be entered manually.
LiveDisplay is not always active when the device comes from sleep and has to be unlocked. Upon the next sleep/active via short press on the power button iteration, the LiveDisplay mostly works as expected.
Once, presumably a wakelock drained the battery throughout the day until it was empty and the device turned itself off. I don't know why this happened and can't reproduce it.
Altogether a very successful start for this ROM, I will keep it on my device and hope the dev keeps on working on it to further improve it or even update to Lineage 15.x...

The point is,..
If your building it, wouldn't you want it all together so you could track it easier? Now you'll need to read all the threads that you've posted this into to find the results.
I know we all appreciate you doing this. But please make your own thread for it so we can all see what's going on. Without having to read through the 4+ threads this is in.

- Actually I've already fixed that(or know what's the issue atleast). There are files that are missing from the directories that are listed in the updater script. They cannot be deleted as the original base ROM I compiled was from UA(unlegacy android) that are based on the newer sources.
- Some files that are required for MIUI are also missing.
- Boot.img is incomplete. Which will result in bootloop even if I upload the error 7 fixed ROM.
- I am giving my board exams that are one of the biggest exams in India. And I cannot afford to score less in these.
- All I need is a older base ROM ,CyanogenMod 11 made around may of 2016. And also it must support init.d because the port ROM requires that.
- I've taken permissions from the maker of the port ROM. He has allowed me to proceed.
- All I need is permission from Android-Andi, as only he has older CM ROMs.
- I cannot compile because older sources are not available or maybe I am not known to them

I just saw deltadroid's thread, the title clearly says that the ROM is for p3110. I want to make a unified one. I need a ROM made with unified device tree.
If I do port, it will only work on p3110 and maybe on every 7" device. I don't want do this.

Or I must say it an update. 75 percent of the work is done. Somehow I managed to get a base ROM(only I know how). Only build.prop editing and Updater script editing work left(these are the most difficult BTW).

It should be, "ro.build.version.security_patch=2018-03-01"
or,
"ro.build.version.security_patch=2018-03-05"
And this, hardly doubt this will work, but idk.

You, sir, definitely have a lot to offer. I am afraid that this is not the actual problem. By now, I surely understand the importance of logs. Would be very helpful if someone could arrange me them.
And about your post it seemed really rude, raw, insulting and manipulating to me. But however, helpful. It makes it really hard to continue developing for a 6 years old Tab, with hardware that has nothing to offer in 2018. At least, I am trying.
Since, this was an Alpha build(because I moved sources) these problems are sure to arise. I did the same(build.prop things) with my kinda successful ROM MIUI 5(see it in the 7" forums).
I guess you haven't tasted port ROMs yet. They are hard to build. Alike your compiling ones, you have source, type some commands, turn your computer on for about 5 hours, when done upload it.
I am sure you must have did trail and error (in chemistry and math) porting ROMs is just the same. I am sure, that as a developer, you must know what logs actually mean.

FYI, I port ROMs. It was pointers what to fix, if you wanted to get this ROM better, than it is already.

Sorry, I won't give permissions after different people used my ROMs as base in the past without permissions. Hope there is a learning affect....
Since i love OpenSource: Sources are available on every official GitHub (slim, Omni, Lineage, UA) and up to date (note: I wouldn't have to do this, I could keep all device trees private but I am updating them for everyone - always). You'll have to compile your own base ROM to use for such port ROMs (I am not a fan of).
