Has anyone experience with RUU? - HTC First

Hi all,
I believe I somehow messed up my HTC First. I ordered a new one for a friend and flashed jmz odexed 1.08.502.4. Even though my firmware was 1.15. I don't know if its because of that, but my camera doesnt work atm.
So all I want to do is flash stock radio firmware and software to get completely back to stock. Does anyone already used:
RUU_MYST_UL_Cingular_US_1.08.502.4_Radio_1.19.40.00.09_10.69.40.33IL_release_327090_signed_2.exe?
Did it work for you?

Ok, with RUU.exe you can restore your phone in 2 ways .... directly from. exe or extracting the rom.zip form the .exe and flash with fastboot, in either of the 2 cases you must install the stockrecovery and block the bootloader again .
your phone stay factory.
I find this guide very complete but it´'s in spanish.

mmm... before you try it, install a google camera and fix permisions, almost certainly fix the camera is just that!.

[Q] I need help on a specific rom. thanks

I have an unbranded HTC HD7, official unbranded. But I already updated post NoDo, 7392. Due to this, I can't jailbreak my phone using chevron wp7.
These are my questions:
1. What official rom should I flash to make my hd7 like it was on pre-NoDo?
2. In any case I feel I didn't like the flash. Could I always revert back?
( In relation to Sony Ericsson, when I didn't like the cooked rom I used, I always revert it back using SEUS. Somehow, can I do this on htc? I know htc has no update service of some sort. )
Thanks

or any original HTC rom.
Thanks!
uhm in case I don't like it, how do I get back to the original one? I mean, how would I know if the one I got even if it is original rom, would be the same as my current rom?
Thanks!

I'm actually curious about this as well.
I know there are some modified ROMs in the dev section, but aren't they all two-part installs (with an expected error on the first)?
Basically at this point, since we don't have HSPL, is any ROM that flashes (in one flash) without error guaranteed to be official? Is there another verification method?

Reboot loop

MOD: please feel free to move this to Q&A, my bad.
I've tried PACman, I've tried CM10, I've tried tried the Stock ish. CM10 and PACman get to the initial setup screen where I choose a language and when I hit start, or activate USB mass storage, it freezes for a moment then reboots. On the Stock ish one it gets to the Beats logo or AT&T and freezes, then reboots. I've tried the RUU executable and it errors out (but all it says is there's an error, try the correct one executable). Does anyone know what's likely the cause of my problems, and how to fix it so I can just get my phone working? I've been working on it for 18 hours straight, I haven't even eaten anything in nearly 24 hours, and it has been stuck and incapable of rebooting for nearly 12 hours.
Additional details: I was attempting to install PACman and I had some issues, then I used the RUU for Gingerbread (because I didn't realize it was Gingerbread) and got my phone working again. The Bootloader is JB, and it's S-OFF.
this should have been posted in the q&a section. but your bootloader is jb? if you used the RUU for gingerbread it should all be gingerbread. you now have to use the ics RUU to upgrade because it will give you problems like it is now. Use the ics RUU and then flash an ics/jb rom

Neither the ICS nor the GB RUU will work. It just says there was an error, and to please try the right RUU.
EDIT: So I'm guessing that basically I need to get the GB RUU to work, then OTA update to ICS, then continue with everything. How do I get the GB RUU to work? How do I even troubleshoot the fact that it's not working?
EDIT 2: I was wrong, it's giving ERROR [156]: IMAGE ERROR.
EDIT 3: I think I found the problem. The RUU is blank when it says what image ROM it's going to update the device to. Anyone know how to fix that?
EDIT 4: the RUU says its current version is the same as the ICS RUU.
have you tried downloading from a different source? try just using the ics RUU so you don't need to OTA update. maybe the download is just corrupted
Zero's got the right idea!
yup...that's exactly what I'd do, even if it were a stock AT$T RUU rom...better than nothing...

They both worked earlier today. The problem shouldn't be with the files.
EDIT: are JB HBOOT and WCX recovery both completely compatible with the stock ROM? Is there a way to replace WCX and JB HBOOT with the original versions of each just to try and get everything back to the way it was?
EDIT 2: That's weird. I downloaded a new copy of the ICS RUU and it worked. Thanks for all your help and time, everyone!

I had a sneaking suspicion your original RUU was corrupt...Glad it all turned out
just a heads up if you are using Chrome to download these files.. i personally have had TONS of issues downloading large files with Chrome and would recommend using FireFox to download files bigger than 200MB maybe even smaller.. and the RUU's if i remember correctly are around 400MB.. just for future reference since you've already fixed your issue..

[Q] reverting to stock - help needed

i had an issue with my newley purchased one and was advised to try flashing a non stock rom to see if the problem would go. it has not and i now need to put the phone back to standard htc sense 4.1 firmware.
I am ssuming that while the phone has bootloader unlocked still and rooted that i can download 4.1 firmware as a zip and put on the memory then flash from recovery? Once done i will use the tool-kit i used to unlock bootloader and root etc to take these off?
Can anyone link me to the correct firmware i need as there seems to be many listed and im not sure which it is.
At the moment i have Android rev 12 on there.
thanks
Come on a fair bag full of posts, but you haven't given the details of the phone.........
And if you have a nandroid backup of the original rom then restoring that returns the phone to how it was.
Or look here:

Can someone please clarify for me....
i used the Hanson - all in one tool kit to unlock bootloader, put on recovery and root the phone. I then installed Android rev 12 to my phone.
I now want to go back to stock and dont have any back up so....
do i just download the stock 4.1 htc rom (this one http://goo.gl/3YQED) then flash this to my phone using the recovery method i used to flash android rev?
do i then just use the Hanson tool kit to remove root and re-lock the bootloader?
Not worried about the phone being completely clean as long as the root has gone and its showing the standard htc firmware in the 'about phone' section....phone is going back to be exchanged due to a hardware fault.
thanks
ive been trying to follow this thread but i seem to get myself lost as i did most of what it says using the toolkit and not adb on computer.

Need help with my Sprint m7

[MANDATORY INTRODUCTORY SENTENCE DEPLOYED] Okay so as the title states I have an issue with my Sprint HTC One (m7) [MANDATORY INTRODUCTORY SENTENCE Complete].
The issue in question is lack of GPSability after flashing (you guessed it) Cyanogenmod 11 and currently CM12. I have tried multiple ROMs since then and all of them either don't fix the issue or wont install or work at all. So now I'm back to CM12 and everything works terrifically except for GPS...which I need...alot.
Now of all the research I've done on finding a fix for this infuriating problem has led me to believe that the only real way to fix this is to flash to a stock ROM, get a GPS fix/lock/signal/whathaveyou and then wipe and flash back over to your ROM of choice HOWEVER....heh heh I kinda un-acquired my backup, it somehow got erased during some blunder during the initial rooting process and I was dumb enough to not have saved a backup on my pc...oops.
Now I am aware that there are other ways of restoring my device to stock by other means such as RUU processes but I am not able to perform this process as my internet connection on my pc is dependent on my phone itself via tethering.
I also know that some have had luck by flashing new kernels however I have not been able to find one that worked for me.
So I guess what I'm asking is does anyone know of any other way I could restore my phone to stock using methods that don't require my pc to be connected to the internet, know of a place where I can find a flashable stock ROM or simply just fix my GPS issue outright?
I appreciate any assistance anyone can offer. Thank you in advance.

I forgot it was Rumrunner that needed internet conection to work, the RUU simply wouldn't work, again this time was no different. But, BUT, BUUUUUT, thanks to that link I WAS able to get access to answers that eventually solved my problem both primary AND secondary. Was able to get back to stock via a Stock Rooted Rom AND achieved GPS lock with CM12. You have my eternal thanks my friend. Your link opened the road to answers that two months of googling couldn't answer.

G800H Duos - CM13 / 12.1 / Clone from identical phone

Hi,
I took the plunge and rooted + flashed my phone last week after finding that the CM13 ROM is supposed to support a G800H dual sim. Unfortunately CM13 doesn't find either of my SIM cards.
So I spent a long time reflashing other custom ROMs to see if I could get one to work. I finally managed to find the CM12.1 ROM which finds my SIM cards but the recent and back button isn't functioning and when I try to uninstall an app the phone reboots and the app remains.
Can anyone help me get one of these ROMs to work properly?
Alternatively, my wife has exactly the same phone as me (unrooted and running everything as the it was out of the box), is there a way I can clone her device to mine then factory reset it?
Thanks in advance.
Flash the first Russian Lollipop twice. Yes, it's weird but if you downgrade sometimes you need to flash it twice to fully downgrade, then flash CM. If you still can't get SIMs to work on stock Lollipop, downgrade to KitKat then use OTA to go to Lollipop.
About cloning, to do a full clone you need to use TWRP as far as I know.
@lfom
Thank you for your reply my friend.
I have resorted to using Samsung Smart Switch and re initialised my phone back to stock. I think I am out of my depth as I don't even understand your reply lol!
Thanks again!

Sorry, I will try to explain. You've used Odin to root, right? You have to use Odin to flash any stock ROM that is not to the same country as your original ROM (different CSC code). All Marshmallow ROMs are based on the first Russian Lollipop ROM released by Samsung, that's why if you flash them over other ROMs you have problems like no SIM.
Ahhh I think that might be the problem! (Yes I used Odin.)
In the instructions it clearly says "1. Make sure you have updated to stock 5.1.1" - I didn't do that - what an idiot.
I take it when you say "flash any stock ROM" I need to get a 5.1.1 stock ROM - where would I get one of those from?
EDIT: would this be suitable? http://www.youmobile.org/blogs/entr...-Android-5-1-1-Lollipop-update-is-Rolling-out
Thanks for your persistence.

To avoid issues, if you want to run any my CM13 (Marshmallow) ROM, you need to flash through Odin the first 5.1.1 Russian version, for what I said before. The common and easiest place, although slow, is from SamMobile website:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/56934/G800HXXU1BOI2_G800HOXY1BOI2_SER/
@Ifom Thanks very much I will start the download when I get back from work and install it when it finishes (some time next week).
Thanks again.
