If I recall correctly, Moto disabled/blocked it because they claimed it interfered with the built-in Motorola Touchless Controls.

The first answer is correct, and also, the launcher is only OFFICIALLY compatible with Nexus and GPE devices. Here's the apk if you still want it or if you haven't gotten it yet.

I didn't say that it does interfere, just that it was the explanation moto gave when they blocked it for the X. It USED to be installed by default, IIRC.

I know you didn't. I was just saying for anyone else that GNL doesn't interfere with touchless controls. In case someone else was thinking about installing it.

Motorola didn't block it, Google did. It is only available for Nexus devices, and it has never been the default on the Motorola X, or any other device that wasn't from the Play Store.

There's a reason for this. It's called Isis.

Yes, right. But I've had wallet running on a Verizon Galaxy Nexus since it came out, sideloaded, no root. So, maybe someone can figure out how to do this for the Moto X or the Maxx?? Hopefull
without Root it won't happen, period.
Wallet worked fine on my nexus 4 stock UN rooted on AT&T

Yes it did but you didn't buy it from at&t. It remains to be seen if wallet will be available on the dev edition moto x.

Any News/Rumors of 4.3 coming soon

title says it all. just wondering if anyone has seen new/rumors of android 4.3 coming for our moto x soon. i seen an article that said it would be sooner than later but that was the only thing i could find.
was wondering the same thing. with the N5 coming out soon though i'm wondering if they are looking to skip to kitkat
The only thing I can think of in 4.3 that would benefit users is TRIM support, but the Moto X already has that: http://www.anandtech.com/show/7235/moto-x-review/9
On other Moto devices we had an app that would check Moto dev servers for leaked builds. The Atrix got unlocked that way. Can't we try that on this device?

4.3 libs are much much better than 4.2 but they are probably just skipping to kitkat

I doubt they're skipping 4.3. There was a 4.3 leak.

Yes, you do. It's a minor inconvenience for me. I use the hotspot then clear the credentials out and take the lock away.

Maybe, but personally I'm not a fan of the idea of carrying around yet another device (no matter how small) just to help me unlock the phone.

Try that. I used to pay for hotspot on two unlimited lines but got tired of the price. Dropped those features and still have unlimited. Before I rooted and boot loader unlocked my Note 2 I tried widgetsoid on both a stock Verizon note 2 and stock galaxy s3 and it works for both of them.

That just provides toggles for hotspot off and on. On the Moto X you can't use hotspot without the VZW subscription. Alternates like Foxfi are the only options for us right now.

I tried everything I could find for my Verizon Moto X, including SVTP which I paid for and worked great on my GNEX but does not on the Moto X.
FoxFi does work, however the certificate and lock screen PIN or pattern thing is annoying. Since this is the only option, I have no choice and will go through the routine when I need it, for now.

I know that but I wasn't paying for the hotspot on my two unlimited lines with a Note 2 and S3 and the widget allowed bypass of entitlement check apparently, as I was tethering via stock verizon hotspot on two stock unrooted phones. Didn't know if it would work or not on the X.

After successfully registering my Moto X Developer edition to receive a bootloader unstill no response. I have emailed motorola but not heard anything back from customer support either. Any one else experience this? My last moto x DE received the code in a matter of hours.

Yes I know it wouldn't be a good idea but I know who he is and he has been providing support for us, he is Matt the forum admin from the Moto support forum. I have my device registered with Moto so I don't believe anyone can do anything with the IMEI anyway since it isn't registered with the carrier. Thanks for looking out though I appreciate it.

unlocked bootloader for my motox on attunlocked bootloader
Hi, I am totally blind, and it's really hard to navigate these forums, I tried to send a message to zat and the other motorola employee, but my screen reader doesn't read the imbeded objects very well. I understand in general that bootloaders are not unlocked for att devices, but with the overlay, my talkback screen reader doesn't work very well, so would like to gain root, to use a different rom or remove the overlay with titanium backup. If you guys could please make an exception, I love this phone and don't want to return it, or could you guys trade me for the developer adition or some way for me to resolve this problem. My email is [email protected], and I'd really appreciate you guys allowing me to unlock my bootloader or some resolution.
Thanks:
isaac

Wow, that was fast, I feel dumb.
Did you enjoy it overall despite any minor hiccups?
Info has a way of hiding itself just when you need it
I only used it a handful of time for small tasks, but having the functionality is definitely useful.
