Not sure what it is, but the 2GB+ download is available via Kies.
Is that for the 8.4 or 10.5?

The T800 is the 10.5 inch. The T700 is the 8.4 inch.
Huh wonder what it is?
The OTA update I received was only a 36 MB File. We talking about the same thing? Because this is nowhere near 2 Gbs

I think the nf6 is an older build
The build number ended "NF8" on June 18th ( 4.4.2_0016). It's now "NFB" June 30th (4.4.2_18) The kernel also changed.
Well now that I'm rooted gonna wait on some roms before flashing an OTA that might lose root.

Perhaps it is via OTA. Via Kies it was 2GB.
What Is kies and where do I find it?
The OTA said it was for "platform and stability" improvements. Maybe they tweaked the TouchWiz, that some owners say, was causing some stutter/lag.
My 8.4 Just updated and its Build Number is ending in ANF9. Seems as though the performance has picked up a lot, no longer any lag when swiping left to the quick briefing page and calender page. It actually feels really nice right now. Good Job Sammy!
Also looks like RAM has been optimized quite a bit. with all default apps running im sitting at 1.3G free space. I never checked really until now, but hey whens the last time you used a samsung device and had more than 5-600MB of RAM free by default anyways lol!
No update on mine yet (BTU). Still on NF7. Least I have something to look forward too. Am hoping they tweak the battery to last longer with normal useage.

Can anyone, who download the 2GB file from KIES , screenshot their system info? I want to see if it differs from mine. Thank you..
I got the update today, I can confirm that touchwiz performance does seem improved. It also seemed to greatly improved my wifi, I am now able to stream full blue ray HD wireless with little to no hiccups.
Beyond that general system performance seems about the same and benchmarks have not changed.
Definitely a good update, not sure if I hosed myself in terms of root though.
Well considering the fact we have no idea when anyone will ever cook off a rom for us I went ahead and ran the update. Can't really notice any difference but then again I wasn't running TouchWiz anyway. Of course now I no longer have root.
Wondering if we need a brand new root with this update?

Yeah I hadn't rooted yet, but will want to eventually.
Definitely seems to be mostly around touchwiz, curious if others see the wifi streaming improvement. Before the update I needed bump plex down to 12mbit and bsplayer wouldn't stream anything smooth, now I have plex running at 20mbit and bsplayer can play compatible videos directly even full blue ray h.264 videos.
I can also confirm that memory usage in default state is considerably lower, though not sure that's of much import given how android allocates memory.
Was hoping the floating multi window for the pro would show up, but no luck
There may be something to the improved WiFi speeds and streaming. I notice that YouTube videos load pretty much instantaneously and stream without hiccup. Dunno, maybe placebo effect but does seem quite good.
Update: Confirmed improved streaming. Cranked up Star Trek Into Darkness on Netflix. It started much faster than previously and full HD quality resolved in about half the time. Pleased.

Just reflash the original cf auto root.
Update to the latest version via Kies. Lost root but the previous root method still work for the 10.5.
Touchwiz is so much better I've abandoned go launcher and gone back to touchwiz, my scrolling widgets are much faster in touchwiz than go launcher now.
Glad to hear root still works. I'll be rooting as soon as I'm past my 45 day return period

Figure it would be nice to have a thread of changes we have found in 5.1.1
For me the UI feels a LITTLE more responsive, nothing major. That's all I have seen.
What about others?
For me so far it has been better standby time. Battery.
I notice somewhat better performance in general, phone just feels a little snappier. Battery life obviously can't be judged yet, might factory reset later if it gets worse (stupid Google Play Music device limit).
This is super minor, but I notice that the time it takes for the phone to verify the encryption passphrase is about half of what it was. And most people will likely not care about this either, but the T-Mobile jingle aligns with the T-Mobile white screen during boot up now.
Agree it's very very early, but I had pretty bad battery drain for the first few hours after I updated. Cleared cache via the stock recovery and it seems to be much better.

I just cleared my cache with stock recovery too, and when it rebooted, it said the update failed, which is strange since I updated it 11 hours ago, and I'm definitely on 5.1.1.

I noticed that too. I had to reboot twice into recovery (had to go back into Android because I needed to decrypt my phone to clear cache). Both times it said "Installing system update". No ertror mesage, though.
Updated this morning. Played around with my phone for a bit and then did a factory reset for the heck of it. So far it's pretty decent. I like the new camera feature and the removable S Finder and Quick Connect boxes too. I've been running it with everything turned on for almost a month and was getting great battery life. So far the battery is doing pretty good as I'm using it quite heavily.

I got the update too. Only thing it says is update from OE2 to OF3. Still 5.0.2. I don't notice anything else.
I'm holding off taking this as I suspect it will break ping-pong root. Wife is taking it now on her 925.
Edit:
Kernel date on the OF3 ATT update is June 18, so well after the May 15 cutoff date for the patch. It should be assumed that the ping-pong exploit will NOT work on this update, unless proven otherwise.
I was holding off on this update because I was planning on rooting today. I woke up this morning to the phone updating on it's own. So much for rooting.

active is getting it too! hopefully this fixes the memory leak
Do we know if it does in fact wipe root?
This update seems faster. Well, it probably is because it's a newer kernel but it's not night and day.
The one change that is obvious is the signal. I have had no signal in my town for the past month, others have said the same and there are some threads about this issue.
I don't have any signal problems now (so far) so that's a good sign.

My first 30 minutes seems like it's much faster too. I only waited 30 minutes to post this cause I usually don't make it past 5 minutes before it slows down. So far so good. Going to hit the upgrade button on my wife's S6 now too.

Ya, nothing really important for me
I'm using stock unrooted now and (thus far) it has fixed some of my biggest annoyances. UI is much smoother (but I'm not using TouchWiz anymore), standby battery has been non-terrible, and I haven't had any huge memory issues. With that said, these things don't always crop up in the first few days.

Well I was getting huge battery drain from the HD Voice option being selected on OE2. I just checked and when I went back to stock it enabled the HD voice again without any big problems w/ battery life.
Update- the ear piece sound much better for calls, but a lot of people I talk to say I sound a lot worse. Wanted to see if anyone else has similar feedback?
I turned off "enhanced 4gLTE" for HD voice and everyone says I sound much better. I don't live in an HD voice area according to the coverage map, so I don't know if that matters

One of the kernel modifiers that works by altering setting in RAM. You can get improvements for sure but be careful.
I used to run a kernel modding app in KitKat ROM but now on Lollipop the phone runs nice without it so I don't use a kernel tuning app anymore.
I have Xposed but even then, only a minimal number of modules. You can create an unstable device by these types of mods.
Can you tell us which settings exactly you have in L Speed? A screenshot would be enough because when I tried it I didn't see any improvement

I'm probably as big of a skeptic as you get when it comes to these miracle "speed up your phone now!" kind of apps, but hear me out:
I installed this after it popped up whilst lazily scrolling through the Play Store. I remembered reading a post title about it somewhere and figured I might as well laugh at the massive scam when it starts asking for IAPs or something.
But wow, it really helps. I mean it has only been running for about 30 minutes, so I can't say much for the battery life improvements etc, but here's what has noticeably improved thus far:
- "Smoothness": Enabling the UI tweaks rewarded me with buttery smooth scrolling, window switching, even SwiftKey (which, whilst being a great keyboard for a multi-lingual, has always fallen behind others in terms of smoothness) is now on IOS levels of responsive, for now. I'm running 5.1.1 (B324), which is already a massive improvement over the choppy mess that was 4.4.4, but this made animation smoothness on-par with the latest flagships.
- App loading times: Vastly improved. The HAM7 isn't bad at this, but not exactly great either. I'm assuming it's the IO tweaks that 'fixes' this, as app loading times are way quicker. Even the app switching window, which is notoriously slow to load up on the HAM7, opens up very hastily (not instantly, but MUCH faster than usual), even when you have 3-5 pages of apps open. Hell, even the camera doesn't waste time opening.
And perhaps the most impressive improvement: Faster streaming. I know, this sounds like snake-oil, right? Wrong. I live in East Africa, our internet here is horrifically slow compared to European countries (my company has a 7mb/s line, which is one of the fastest lines available in our area). Streaming a video in 1080p is something one can only dream of. I took a quick look at YouTube, ramping the quality up to 1080p, and it plays! I mean I still have to leave it for around ten seconds to buffer a little, but after that I'm golden. I'm baffled, I honestly don't want to believe it, but yet it's happening right before my eyes. I will test this on other streaming services (Netflix and ShowBox) later and update this post with my findings.
So there you go. A totally skeptical non-believer converted in 30 minutes. I can't tell you how this works, all I can say is that it does, at least in my case. The HAM7 running 5.1.1 really isn't bad in terms of every day performance, but this makes it a lot more bearable (I hate EMUI).
I'll update this post with further findings tomorrow.

Lots of factors affect it. Rooting and modding can slow it down, for instance I can assure you installing ViPER4Android will slow it down, but sounds oh so good.
Don't use viper. But yes depending on the amount of apps etc does affect it. Using always on display now and love it and not really much of a battery hog, I love coming back to my phone and don't even touch it just glance to see if I have missed anything.

I'm waiting for the new batch of Notes to arrive and got me wondering if Samsung might or could do something to stop root. It doesn't seem like they could or really have the time to worry about it with all the problems currently. Also, with a bit of a bad stigma, do you think they will sweeten any deals to get people to buy these former bombs. Personally I love that Samsung is taking a hit and getting knocked down a peg. I still love these phone but all of the sudden the 1% rooting community has a little bigger effect on sales.
That tiny routing community... against the fees they can make from Samsung Pay. Think about it.

There are August and September Android security patches that the Note 7 didn't get. Anyone short of a Samsung project engineer that thinks they can answer that question is probably full of it.
I think a lot would have to change to make the kernel leak not work. And yes , I don't think Samsung will care about us tweakers still but I still like war ching Samsung squirm just a little.
I think the real question is will Samsung be updating this phone at all or will it become the unwanted step child

No I haven't took the update. I'll let somebody else be brave and try that one. Hopefully jovy puts out an updated rom with the new firmware.
The new update is not rootable and you won't be able to go back to PGC if you take the update. If you really want root i advise you to NOT let the rep power on/ setup your phone.....it will likely grab the update and you'll be doomed. Best practice: Do not place sim in device OR connect to wifi Until you have root.

Yup you'll lose Samsung Pay, Secure Folder and SHealth (if you update SHealth after rooting)
You can post what you feel about the update here .
For me

2) camera doesnt heat up the phone now
3) gaming also runs cooler
4) animations are better
5) expect an sot of 1h more than you got with april update.
Looking for more changes ..

I think samsung is doing a great job ,
I was about to trade off my s21 ultra with mi 11 ultra , but this update has stopped me doing so.
I can't wait until my phone recieve the update.
This is so promising that samsung still fixing and adding new features every month.
I would say a 10% better everything even though it might be a placebo. All running smooth. Used the camera a lot today for pics and videos. Youtube, browsing and etc, and now 3:33 SOT and battery at 46%. I guess that may be a tad better than before. Camera seems better too somehow.

I think they are moving towards apple kind of ecosystem and software.
And if they can do that , i am not leaving samsung for as long as they maintain that .
They still need to work on animations , accidental touches, and 60-120 hz management in some apps

Everything is running smoothly. Battery I think is maybe 5-10% better but have to give it a few days. Can't comment on the camera yet. Usage is on WiFi, 120Hz, FHD+.
Is it officially out for india?? I haven't got it yet!

It's officially out for India, however the OTA rollout seems to be taking some time.

Try Frija, its very fast to download it.
wise advice. I only use one time to install PHE before change CSC, then always wait for OTA
OKay, will wait it out then. Last month I received the update on April 9th; so this time I presume it will be similarly timed.
I'm able to achieve 10hours Sot (48 hours cycle) on this release, prior to that the sot was in the 8/9 hours. I mostly use browser, youtube, youtube music and ocasional gaming (Wild Rift)
On Vodafone model in UK so I expect it will be a couple of weeks before I get this but it sounds like it makes what is already one of the best phones money can buy even better.
Great to see Samsung get the Exynos up to near Snapdragon levels of quality at last.
Unlocked exynos UK here, no sign of the update yet. I've read it improves the shutter response, which would be great!

Photo processing seems better too.
Look at this photo I took today. It's sharp, detailed and HDR is awesome.
