Hi
Has anybody here succeeded in getting their Galaxy gear to work with their Oppo Find 7a?
I bought the Galaxy this afternoon and immediately updated to Tizen as I was told this would be easy to connect to non samsung-devices.
Since then I have been searching, trying and failing to get the Gear up and running for hours.
I can connect to the gear (both devices vibrate) but then the phone goes into the connecting part and gets stuck there...
Anybody who can help me?
Thanks in advance
Doesnt matter anymore. Got it to work after factory resetting my phone.

I have had my galaxy gear 2 paired and working with my nexus 5. No issues other than wanting to install some of the other tizen stuff.
Anyway, today my phone upgraded to lollipop. After that, any attempt to open gear manager was getting a "Unfortunately, gear manager has stopped". I've tried so much. I tried the newest gear manager I could find: 1.7.031004. It keeps crashing as soon as you try to open it. I've rebooted my phone a ton of times, I've reset my watch back to defaults. If I uninstall that and attempt gear manager 1.6.111801. The bluetooth will connect to my watch but the gear manager keeps failing. I've tried a few other older visions of gear manager with no luck.
Does anyone have anything I can try to fix this? Ha, damn this is really upsetting me that samsung didn't just make this damn watch open to all phones.
Good luck with that. Honestly. Samsung is slow to update gear manager. It's probably not compatible with the Android L framework yet. When I got the Note 4, I couldn't access settings. It crashed every time.
I emailed Samsung about my displeasure and they told me I just had to wait until an update came out to fix it. Go figure. I am sure it will be compatible soon. :good:
i! I have a issue with the samsung gear vr and my note 4. I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me over here. No matter how many times I update(or attempt to update) my phone software, the gear vr will simply not work. I always get a message that my phone needs a software update. I’m aware that this is a common problem for some users but I wonder if there's any alternative way to make it work. I’ve read that some carriers simply don’t support the software needed yet and that I should simply wait for the update to get here. I’ve also read that I will absolutely need the Lollipop 5.0 update before I can use my Samsung vr. Lastly, I’ve read that the model of Galaxy note 4 I have(SM-N910H) is not compatible with the gear vr because of the region I live in and that I should get an unblocked phone (SM-N910C, specifically) in order to successfully update my phone and plug it into my Gear Vr.
Is there anything at all I can do to either manually install the software? I hope you can help me with this, I’m extremely frustrated with this problem. Thanks in advanced!
Hi,
New here, and looking for some help from you all please.
I am in Ireland and bought the Note 5 N9200 it is Dual sim. I noticed that the Gear manager App is now pre installed as a system App and can not be removed.
My Gear s connects up no problem - on first connect it updated with no issue. Everything works fine, calls and notifications come through all normal. the only issue I now face is when I move out of Bluetooth range and wait for the remote connection to kick in , I get an error message " Failed to enable remote connection" and it tells me to connect via Bluetooth.
I did a factory reset on the phone and gear s , made no difference. I then tested the gear S with a friends galaxy S5 and it remote connected first time. My gear s also remote connected with my S6 with no issues.
I would really like to get this working with the Note 5 , soooo anyone out there have any ideas or fixes for this ??
Thanks for your help

I'm considering get the same model but before I committed I was wondering if you had any issues and where would you recommend buying this from?

Ebay.
Perhaps , some others with other versions of the Note 5 , could check and confirm if the Samsung gear app is now a system app ( or is this just the case for SM-N9200 )
Or even if anyone else has other versions of the note 5 that have connected with the gear s with no issue ?
Would be good to get some feedback.
I just upgraded from a Samsung S5 to a Nexus 6P and wanted to pair my Gear 2 Neo with my 6P for whatever limited functionality I could get from it. I went through the pairing process and the watch said that it would reset all user data and off it went.
It's been hours and the watch just boots up, shows the logo and goes blank... if I hold the home button again, it shows the logo plus "Rebooting..."
I tried getting into the boot menu and choose Recovery, but that does nothing. :crying:
Any way to salvage this?
Thanks!
I managed to finally get it to accept an older firmware download and now it's working, then Keis saw it and I upgraded it to the latest firmware but it Gear Manager won't see it (even though the bluetooth on the Nexus 6P will).
Any way to get Gear to recognize it?

I have this problem too. Did you managed to make it work?

Sadly no. Although the 6P and Gear 2 Neo can connect through Bluetooth, there seems to be no way to get the Gear app to recognize it, thus it is of limited usefulness.
Has anyone else had any issues getting their Gear Live to connect to a Galaxy S8+? I realize this is probably too early to ask, but wanted to get it out there anyway.
Any pairing attempts by the phone are listed as "rejected" and watch just says "Can't connect to the Android Wear app on your phone. Swipe for some tips." I've reinstalled AW, reset the watch a few times.
Thanks for any help.
