Hey Jake!
Why are you posting ROMs in the General section?

No. Not unless someone figures out how to let you guys on safe strap use custom kernels.
that's the reason you guys can't use any aosp based roms

Yes I'm running this. Really nice so far. Highly recommend it
Massive kernel update (~100 commits) will be in the next build.
Also, afaik only thing not working is VOIP mic
is the kernel f2fs compatible or do I still have to use kt or alucard?
Thanks in advance

I already posted a problem at DU site from G+.
My problem is that, when i restart my phone, the theme i applied right before through ThemeChooser is getting reset, just the statusbar stays modded.
The System Settings, all of the themed apps, as well the lockscreen buttons look like non-themed (Holo standart) after restart.
After research on my phone i found out, that it has something to do with xposed framework, I 1st thought it's caused by an module, but i deactivated all of em step by step and rebooted every time and after deactivating the last one still nothing happens, BUT when i uninstall the xposed framework themes works fine after reboot
I post here also cause here is a huge range of people that can read that and maybe someone else has the same problem
Disable the framework and switch in developer options to Art. Runs very much smoother and more responsive

This is an issue across multiple ROMs with the theme chooser. It crept up in the past couple weeks.
It is *extremely* difficult for us to assess issues while xposed is installed.
Essentially, you use Xposed mods at your own risk.
There's no way I can adapt the ROM to work with xposed mods. The mod devs need to conform to the ROM

No worries, i just didn't know what the hell was goin on there, not using a lot of modules but some are just awesome ^^
Keep up your great work, maybe one day there will be a solution
EDIT:
After some more research i found this one here in THIS Thread:

Thank you.
I think I have tracked it down to this commit: https://github.com/CyanogenMod/andr...mmit/8fff544ec349593cfa61ae2f5ec59419fff666b6
The Xposed framework is calling getPackageInfo (actually getPackageInfoNoCheck, which calls it) in order to get an LoadedApk object, which it uses to get the resDir and (most important) the classLoader used by the application. This is called very early (in handleBindApplication). At this time, I assume the theme settings haven't been propagated to the app yet. Also, it's unlikely that this method has been called before.
Anyway, what the commit wants to change is that it can simply recreate the Resources object instead of the whole LoadedApk. That should work fine with Xposed. However, there is another change in logic that might be unwanted. The Resources object is created in any case now. That makes a big difference, because the handleInitPackageResources() hook fires before the handleLoadPackage(), and the Resources object is probably created without theming information.
If the lines were this instead, everything should work as before:
Code:
if (packageInfo.mResources [B][COLOR="Red"]!=[/COLOR][/B] null
[B][COLOR="Red"]&&[/COLOR][/B] !packageInfo.mResources.getAssets().isUpToDate()) {
packageInfo.mResources = null;
packageInfo.getResources(this);
}
It seems to be an oversight to me, because the commit message just says "Instead of creating a new LoadedApk when resources are not up to date, we use the existing LoadedApk but recreate mResources." If mResources == null, no Resources object hasn't been created yet, so it can't be outdated. It doesn't seem necessary to create the object in any case, even if the caller hasn't asked for it (yet).
I would have to go through major hoops to detect and hopefully handle this change. I'd much more prefer if this could be changed in CM. Does anyone know if Clark Scheff / Andy Mast are on XDA to provide some feedback on this? Otherwise, I guess I would have to check out the source to submit a change request, huh? Or if anyone else who could follow my explanations wants to submit this, feel free to do so.

Tried it out, and was really impressed with the rom.... Rock solid, with just those mods that really make it one good rom. Are there plans to include exfat support? Please say yes...

yes basically they are qcom media/display from cm with modified makefiles
with these flags in the BoardConfig.mk

Nice rom, thx.
I found one major bug so far: Nav bar is missing when screen is rotated with 270°. I hope you can fix that.
Smooth, fast and stable. My games are running better than ever. Rotation sticks after using in landscape mode sometimes, but really liking this. A few too many options, but mainly because I don't use all of that. I can learn to. Thanks for this.

Funnily enough BLN works
@Silesh.Nair
Many thanks for this rom it is my new favorite everything I've tried works, only issue at the moment is operator shows up as 23415 not Vodafone but I can live with that till it gets sorted.
I've decided I like not having the back and menu keys lighting up.
Once again thanks for all your time and effort especially as you don't even own this device.

Very nice, I'm looking forward to see an update with the button-light fix. Then I will flash this rom. Unfortunately I have to wait first for the 4.4.2 stock update to root with towelroot. (I'm from germany, but I have a device from Austria :/ )
@Silesh.Nair

No takers for the ROM ( very few downloads ) = no interest for me in building it.
Since you asked, I'll make an update for you today.

Dirty Unicorns is a custom ROM built with stability in mind and optional customization. The idea to start this ROM began out of pure boredom around 4.1.2 on the EVO 3D and later turned into a form of an addiction (a good one) to see where we could go from there. We have since expanded to more devices to include the HTC One, Nexus 5, SGS4 and many more. We quickly realize that users loved what we were doing as well as other developers because it was done the right way. We've always had fun doing it and take pride in knowing that we've done it without having to bug the end user for donations to pay for server costs and/or any of those sob stories you hear. This ROM is 100 percent free and will remain that way.
Those wanting to use our ROM as a base are more the welcomed to do so but please maintained the credits/thanks below, do not ask for donations as it wouldn't be fair to do so considering and let us know as we often like to contribute to other projects.
As stated above, we love to maintain authorship but we also like to publicly praise those that have helped us along the way with our wonderful project. With that said, this wouldn't be possible without the work and help of those listed below THANK YOU ALL!!

A small statement from my side:
I may not always have time to check my threads. I usually stay on top of things, but real life happens and real life is even more important to me than everything else, especially my family !
When reporting bug's, or requesting new features, the best way to make sure your heard, and a sure fire way to get things done is using our Jira site. There's always someone monitoring this, so if I'm tied up, there's a good chance that by reporting here, your issues will be resolved quickly. Remember, before you post anything, take into consideration what your issue is:
-- Could it be a gapps issue?
-- Are you running a different kernel than the one provided that could be causing problems?
-- Are you running any unsupported Xposed modules?
If not, use this tool to your advantage and make life easier for us all! You need to create a simple user name and password to access the site. It'll only take a few seconds, and Neither of these can be seen by us, it's just a security measure.
Here's a link to the site: http://jira.dirtyunicorns.com/browse/DU-60?filter=-3
Please make sure before posting a bug or/and a feature request in JIRA, that no one else has already posted it before.
And do all of us an favour and respect the following:
-- No asking for ETA's
-- No asking for integrating Hover, cause we will NEVER integrate Hover into the rom !
-- We don't accept any form of donations
-- Don't think you are an customer and we own you a thing, cause we don't own anything to you guys
-- Don't ask for ART support, yes you can use ART within the rom, but don't ask for support when running into any issues
-- When you're going to post an bug in JIRA, please provide us as much information as you can and grab a logcat if it's needed
I don't have the experience and the acknowledgement as Jake and others of our team, I will work hard to get into that stuff as soon as possible, but this will definitely take some time, also i'm doin graphics for Dirty Unicorns, have my real life & my family, so if you respect all those things we will be fine !!!
Uh maybe Im missing something but whats the difference between this and the one thats already been posted?

I have to say.... I haven't been running AOSP ROMs in about 6 months since I stopped doing Carbon builds and just came back to the aosp side and gotta say.... Really enjoying Dirty Unicorn. Nicely done to the DU team and maintainers. Keep it up :thumbup:
Otherwise a great rom. But it won't allow me to change lockscreen wallpaper no matter what I do.
Using 7.9

I just want to chime in and thank you and all the DU devs for the incredible work you're all doing.
I'm on v. 7.8 (a weekly build from August) and continue to follow the development but I'm so happy with the status quo I'm not in a hurry to take an update. I'll sit back and watch the fun!
This is truly an awesome ROM!

Got to Dirty Tweaks/Quick Settings and an QS tile for it.
Thank you for the quick response. I already did that but the tile says disabled. I tap it to turn it on but that doesn't do anything. Is there anything else I can do?

Correct, weeklies will start either tomorrow if not......next week for sure
I contacted our Jenkins guy and I let him know to add Falcon to it but he might not get the message until tomorrow which might be too late for him to do anything about it.
AND no, DU does not have multi-sim support.......sorry :/

Awesome ROM ! So many customisation. Just love it
I ve been using it for one hour.
Just have to make a reboot cause Google play didn t recover my apps.
But for now, no bug at all ! Rom is very smooth. Camera and GPS work great. No FC's... Will see for battery life in a while.
Very good job. Thanks DU Team. :thumbup:
Just one question : is there a way to change the tiles size ? (They look a little a bit too small). Thx

In the quick toggle settings, there should be an option for choosing how many tiles to be displayed. By default it will be set to 5. Just change it to 3.

About Us:
Dirty Unicorns is a project that started out with no name. It was a project that was first based off AOKP back in the early days of Jelly Bean. In the early days it was just a one man show on one device, the EVO 3D. Since then, many others have joined the project and it has grown exponentially.
We have seen a lot of talent contribute to this project of ours. Big or small, the focus was always on contributing to the community. That is ultimately why we do what we do. After Jelly Bean, we decided to move to a new base, OmniROM. While AOKP was fun, OmniROM proved to be even more exciting base because it challenged us to see what we could do with a project that had different goals in mind. We learned a lot and again, gain contributors. With Lollipop, we moved to an AOSP base with a lot of patches from CAF to make our older devices function as they should. We grew even more and learned a whole lot more.
It has been an awesome learning experience and is still not over! We are still learning every day and continue to move forward. Lastly, we DO NOT accept, nor ask, for donations. We don't believe in that. Everything that is necessary to keep this project going is out of our own pocket. Gerrit, Jenkins, Websites, Devices, etc. We will never ask for a dime. All we do ask, is that you have patience, search, read and try to enjoy the process with us!!

Are you coming from a ROM with Layers?
Make sure you remove your 'overlay' folders and perform a FULL WIPE
My battery stats are all messed and reporting the wrong percentage, what can I do?
Stop using another kernel. Do a FULL WIPE and flash the ROM again
Is this ROM CM based or AOSP based?
This ROM is based off AOSP
Does this ROM have layers or the CMTE?
This ROM uses the CM theme engine
Pulse doesn't work with [insert music app]
Check this thread out https://plus.google.com/101146731143...ts/TcSzc61xuVx
I'm getting a FC from the theme chooser, what gives?
This is due to restoring data/apps from Google. Go ahead and clear data and cache for theme chooser and theme provider then reboot you should be good moving forward.
I changed my LCD density and now the navbar looks weird, what gives?
This is currenly an issue that we are aware of and addressing. For now after you changed density reset navbar layout or stay on the stock density.

Awesome,
Thanks a lot.
Maybe redo original post. I was curious what does it contain and still have no clue. You start off with a history lesson. Its like opening movie credits. Everyone wants to fast forward to the actual movie. Then changelogs like that helps any. The Q and A is nice. Wish more people did that. Maybe remove cell phone pics and replace with a tablet since that is what we are using.
SM T179 Rom
Hi,
are you considering making a rom for the SM-T719 its the 8" with LTE.
Best
Are you using the CM device trees and kernels to build this rom? If not, could you link to your source tree?
Samsung is killing me..
I dont want complain, but I have reached a point of moral exhaustion with Samsung that is starting to take me to the idea of abandoning the brand forever. I have already had a streak of bad purchases and poor quality issues with several Samsung hardware in the past, and to say their repair centers are basically a waste of time, is an understatement. They do anything possible not to honor any warranties.
But that is the past and now, the present as it stands is that I am yet to use my Tab S2 T-815 because its still under 5.01 stock TouchWiz lollipop, and there is NO firmware upgrade path to Marshmallow. I bought the tab under the assumption to update it directly to AOSP 6.01, ONLY to find out I get told that I cant do the update unless my unit is already running stock Samsung 6.01 also to start with.
Folks, believe it or not Samsung is STILL not releasing stock 6.01 for my Hong Kong purchased Tab (version T-815C), only Lollipop updates. Ironically, Hong Kong was one of the very first locations where the Tab S2 line was first available for retail when it was launched and now, they dont even care to get it updated. Even the much older, original Tab S is already getting Marshmallow!!! But the S2 NOT! I really cant believe this neglect and lack of support. Its unacceptable.
Id like to recap and confirm if it is INDEED true that I CAN'T jump into this AOSP 60.1 ROM unless I am already on Marshmallow? Or is there a workaround and way to do it? The weeks and months are passing by and I am totally stuck with a Tab on Lollipop that cant get upgraded. If I had known about this, of course I would have NEVER bought the Tab. In my wildest dreams, Samsung would NOT update a current model hardware. This is inadmissible. I am so sick and tired this situation, I cant describe anymore. My frustration and disgust at Samsung has reached overboard levels.
Anyway, thanks for any advice or ideas on what I can try to do to get my Tab flashed and going with AOSP 6.01. There's gotta be away. Thanks again for the input and thumbs up to the developers for this ROM I cant wait to get my hand on
Moderator Edit:
A development thread is not the place for this...
Please use the appropriate sub-forum in future.
Thanks
In-call mic level is very low. I tested it with sound recorder app, and it required scaling the level x98 (98 times).
Is there a way to adjust /system/etc/mixer_paths.xml to deal with it?
Hi!
Just installed this ROM to my T815. Nice ROM & Good work!!
Anyway mostly my kid is using this ROM and for some reason our national TV broadcaster app Yle areena do not work. Is it anyhow possible that someone kindly check and tell me what might be wrong... Areena apps are:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yle.webtv
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yle.lastenareena
edit: I flashed stock ROM and now both of these apps are working. Video is visible and there is sound. There is something weird with this and Resurrection Remix ROMs??
No update?
Thanxx
