[Q] SMS on Lockscreen - HTC One Mini 2

Hi,
i just wonder why there are no sms shown on my lockscreen. I checked all options in security->Notification. (sms and telefone)
But nothing is shown -.-
A friend has the HTC One M7 with the Sense 6 update and for him it works.
Also i have no "extreme energie save mod" so i wrote to the HTC support. But he needed about 10 min to find out i have a Telekom branded Smartphone and that the update that brings the "extreme energie save mod" is no released for me yet.
Is the Lockscreen thing the same problem?? But i have this option in the settings and i checked it.
I hope you can help me

There should be no SMS on screen on stock dense, just notification on status bar... If you need it there are a lot of apps that can do it!
Mini 2 has sense 6 native, so there must be extreme power save mod...

I had feared that the support has not that notion.
So anyone an idea why there is no extreme power save mod??
About the SMS. Why has an friend of me (HTC One M7 with Sense 6.0) the notification at the lockscreen?? He has no app for it and it's defently Sense 6.0.

he is. He never rooted

I also have HTC One m7, but SMS don't show up in lockscreen, only missed calls an events... same as on HTC One mini 2, both sense 6

i think i'll have a look at my friend's phone again....

One m7 and one mini 2 have now the same sense version, so they should look identical, the changes are inside (camera, processor, sensors...) but the interface is exactly the same - if you're on stock rom - see also if you can find the extreme power save mode, if he has it you should have it too and find it in the same place
(settings > battery > then you have "power save mode" and after it "extreme power save mode")
I looked again and in the sms settings there's no option to see it on lockscreen

can you have a look at Security-> Notification there are two for me (telephone and sms). My friend also has calender and things like that.

Actually you really don't have Extreme power save mode... It thought every sense 6 had it... I have it under my options, but we're running two different versions

At the first pic my friend has some more options. The second looks just like hims. but i don't know what version he has.
But it looks like you have a custom mod. the softkeys and icons look a bit different from my once.

Changing HTC to display clock only?

Does anyone know if its possible to change the HTC to display the clock and status diplay only?
I dont really need to see the favourite persons or settings display and its wasting space so is it possbile to change it?
Ive looked at the HTC settings but there doesnt seem to be an option..
Any help would be appreciated.

go to the today settings and click htc home and uncheck what you dont want

That's what Im saying there isnt any such option I go to Start>Settings>Home then theres only an option to untick HTC home or tick it the options is greyed out...
If I untick HTC Home it removes everything including the clock but MSN and appointments are still displayed...
what rom are you using?
The factory ROM from T-Mobile UK
depending upon which version of HTC HOme is installed will determine the way to do this. Version 2.1 added a third tab under Settings > Today that allows the add/del of tabs. Otherwise you will have to use HTC Home Customer by pocketemu.com. It allows you to pick and choose which tabs you want to show.

OK, Ive managed to install the latest HTC Home but if I select None in menu then it disaplys all the tabs and if I display only it still comes up with a bih home icon with the same menu...
Is it possible to remove everything and just leave the clock to keep it simple?

Is it with ICS? Coz if there are some options in development menu in settings, which you must untick and they will disappear

Tray, power, and other misc questions

So I've been reading through here for quite awhile before release, and after release. Because I was out of town I only got my Developer Edition today. Got it rooted and loaded recovery with no issues (thanks to Hasoon2000!).
I am coming from a One X+ that was running the viper ROM and wanting to not load a custom ROM right away if I can avoid it.
So as I sit here and play with it I have a couple of questions:
1) It appears that I can't remove the stock camera and browser icons from the tray? Is the a MOD to allow this to be changed?
2) It appears that I can't select to keep the screen on when connected to power? This is a feature that I like to use when I am plugged into power, is it there somewhere else and I missed it?
3) Wasn't sure that I'd like blinkfeed but I've decided I do like it but don't like that there are only a few options (most of which I don't like) for what appears in blinkfeed. Not certain how this gets corrected but thought I'd mention it here.
I know there was a thread going for blinkfeed but I didn't see that anyone had figured out how to get more there yet but I could have missed it.
I did search on these and didn't see anything on 1 & 2 but if I missed it my apologies.

On #2 the stay awake function isn't in the dev options on the developer edition unit it seems.

Wake for SMS?

Hi, I have came from an iPhone 5, and I flashed maximus rom etc, i love the phone without the sense ui thank god.. But my question is, How can I set it up so it would light up the screen when a text message or whatsapp message arrived without having to open the screen to see it, Like how can i make the screen light up for a few secs to show preview JUST like on the iphone?, This is the only nuisance i had with the phone, otherwise AMAZING...

Use a third party messaging app...chompsms is a good one...go sms is another good one. I believe both will give you this option.

If you don't want a 3rd pary app, since I hear those can mess with lockscreens, try trickdroid rom. That has it as a mod(might load into Maximus as a mod too) to do wake4sms and can also wipe out all the senseui on install.

Do remember when you creat a widget in the setting part to keck the last item.
Be aware if you use it yoi can not drag 4 icons in lock screen to quick access those APP you can only unlock the screen.

Widget Locker Lockscreen

Hey all ....
I am having some extremely frustrating problems with Widget Locker Lockscreen here on my HTC One.
First, I can't seem to get the homehelper to work correctly as it doesn't even look like its saving my settings when I switch launchers or anything for testing. I don't need a PIN or security on my phone as deep as setting that, I just don't want the home button to take me to the home screen when on the lockscreen. GO locker did this beautifully for me, and didn't have the second issue below.
Second, when it does work for like 10 seconds, I get an annoying flicker of it trying to paint the homescreen then going back to the lockscreen.
Anyone else experiencing any of these issues or know how to fix them? I have emailed the created of WL a couple of times stating the problems I was having within the app and got nothing back, so its time to ask the XDA Community.

I experienced the same problems as you. It was an amazing app when it was on my Nexus one, still is used. But on the Htc One its pretty lackluster. I know I have nothing to contribute but I just uninstalled it...

Your HTC One is running ARHD as well (well from your signature it says it is) ... I am on 11.5.
Can someone on a different ROM check to see if they are having these issues as well? I know a lot of people are using the app so someone on a different ROM shouldnt be hard to find

Hey, I'm on fully converted GE. I use nova/widgetlocker religiously. Unfortunately, I have the same problems when I try to use homehelper. Its like an inefficient workaround, shows the "redraw" of home but tries to maintain WL. This isn't a working solution. I've disabled it and for the time being, I've just tried to ignore the home button while lock screen. Its always just power button or swipe (if i'm using custom kernel) then unlock using lockscreen. I've looked for other lockscreen alternatives but in terms of features, nothing compares to WL. I hope the devs bring out an update in the near future to address these issues.

Awesome. Thanks for the update. I have been extremely frustrated with this app but nothing compares to the customizing that can be done with it. Lets hope for a speedy update to fix this or hopefully the devs actually come on XDA and see this thread starting and address it
I was able to get rid of the flicker by turning on "HomeHelper ondemand via root" in Advanced > Root Helper (in addition to enabling HopeHelper). I'm currently on TrickDroid 8.00 and WidgetLocker 2.4beta8.

Turned on HomeHelper ondemand via root .... it stopped the home button bypass of the lockscreen but I still have the flicker
Crazy observation ....
I cleared all my settings, defaults, etc this morning before I posted about the homehelper with root .... and still had the flicker
Just playing around with my phone now I changed my lockscreen to have an alternate background from my home screen .... no more flicker on my device ...
Do you guys have alternate backgrounds? If not, can you try switch to one and see if you still get the flicker?

TrickDroid, as posted above, seems to not have any issues either. Is there anyone else on TrickDroid or ViperRom that has had issues?
I can't see why it would be limited to ARHD and GE Roms on the One, but since I don't know much about how these are put together, I guess anything is possible.
Also to note, after my change yesterday, I haven't had an issue since.
just installed app again after update. works like a charm and the dashclock is in "fullscreen" unlike when it was on the sense lockscreen!

can you explain the procedure you followed to do it.i am on IC ROM...when i select Dashclock lockscreen it gets shown on the lockscreen but the default lockscreen is still there...kinda looks odd...two clocks on one lockscreen...

I dont get it? you installed Lockscreen widget and it doesnt enable? make sure you go to settings of lockscreen widget and enable it! tick that box see if that works...
after that it should be simple from there!

the only two possibilities that I found is to either have no lockscreen or you don't see who's calling you (because you need to unlock widget locker first) - both not ideal if you ask me

Well I dunno about you. But I am not having any issue for when someone calls me. but then again I didn't put any sort of security on my phone.
I just have Widget Locker Lockscreen enabled. someone calls me goes straight to answer/decline for me
Using default lockscreen, there is this cool feature (widget?) that shows controls and info of music that is currently playing, no matter what is the player you are using (I use both Spotify and Poweramp). Is there similar widget available that could be used with Widget Locker? I have found some that has support for Poweramp, but for spotify none. I'd rather not add both player's own widget to Widget Locker, it would be just spending space (and Spotify's widget is quite ugly).

me too, but that's the problem: you don't have to swipe up to answer or decline the call, the phone is unlocked so you only have to tap answer or decline... this may cause you to accept/decline calls by accident
I would like to have the default incoming call screen where you have to swipe up to accept the call together with widget locker, but I didn't find a way yet to achieve that
