[Q] Gear (with NULL 23) BT tethering automation - Samsung Galaxy Gear

Hi all,
I am using the Gear 1 with Null 23 with an iPhone. I want to have an easy way to start BT tethering and even automatically have it turn on when the two connect.
Any ideas?
I have seen the Tasker/Tasgear threads but my phone is not an Android, therefore i cannot run tasker.
Thank you!

Bluetooth GPS & Internet at the same time.

Ok Gear owners. Who of you that DOES NOT have native Bluetooth Internet Tethering, have you been able to get both a GPS receiver and Internet receiver to work at the same time?
I have a Note 3 (T-Mobile) and I can only connect Internet or Bluetooth. not both at the same time.
I have tried several Bluetooth GPS services on my phone, but none of them will let the gear connect at the same time I have PdaNet+ running.
I have PdaNet+ & ShareGPS running on my phone
I have BlueGPS & PdaNet Tablet on the gear
Running (Null_9)
Also what map program are you running on the gear? does it provide audio navigation?

He/she observed that only 3 parallel Bluetooth connectionw are possible with the Gear. Pretty weird limitation. I planned to confirm (falsify) it but forgot to do so. The limitation could explain your issue.

Galaxy Gear 1 (Tizen OS) trouble connecting to phone

Hi people,
I am facing a problem that is driving me crazy and i need all the help i can get.
I have flashed my Gear 1 with TizenMod v2.0, but what i am saying also applies to stock Tizen versions NF1 and 700XXUCNE9.
I have set up the watch by connecting it with an HTC One running the GearManagerStub as we all as the Gear Manager according to the following thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2780493
Everything (that can work on an unrooted HTC One) is indeed working.
However, i want to use the Tizen Gear 1 with my iPhone 5S.
So i go to BT settings on the Gear, turn BT off (so that it disconnects from the HTC One) and then make it visible.
I then search (and find) the Gear from my 5S settings and when i try to pair the two the Gear pops up a message saying that it need to reset to factory defaults before it connects to another device. If i let that happen and then try to connect the iPhone, it does indeed connect as a Handsfree device but other than that i am locked in the video splash screen with directions on how to connect. That means that i cannot use the watch at all, apart from the basic handsfree functionality.
The odd thing is that i have been using the watch (stock Tizen 700XXUCNE9 ROM) with my iPhone 5 and a 5S in the past (meanwhile i downgraded to Android for some tests) and i cannot remember having that problem.
I also tried to connect the Gear (after being set up with the HTC One) with an iPhone 4 (no BLE support) and it DOES CONNECT without presenting that God damned "reset to factory defaults" message!!!
I know that the Gear (Tizen OS) does indeed work with the iPhone 5S. I have done it myself (see this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2789095) and there is a thread on the Gear 2 forum where member @skeamznz claims the same http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2722069), therefore i am not (completely) crazy and imagining things.
Can someone help regarding my issue? Could someone with a Tizen running Gear try to connect to an iPhone > 4S and get back?
All help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much in advance!!
Anyone?

Found it at last! I had installed the Air Blue Sharing Cydia tweak which is apparently somehow messing with the BT stack. After I uninstalled the tweak, I was immediately able to connect to the watch.
Just in case anyone is interested.

General Discussion on Galaxy Gear Bluetooth Connection with Headsets on Android

It seems Android development on G Gear has come to a halt and many Dev are working on Tizen .Ive been searching for a way to connect headsets to G Gear without losing android. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check with fomey. Had tried for ages with Bluetooth profiles, but couldn't get anything to work
I posted this in another thread but have you tried the following app together with null rom? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=es.qrr.android.btoolkit
I've had success getting this app to pair certain headsets to my MotoActv that wouldn't work natively. I haven't tried with my gear as I've had no need.

Thanks for your reply!
I gave this app a try but it lacks the files needed to establish a connection.
after looking into the matter ive notice that Galaxy Gear is missing connection files.
It allows to pair with headset the same way as phones but You can not tap on the device lables (even the phone) in the bluetooth menu to connect to the device the way normal bluetooth connection works .
I tried installing bluetooth fix app, the app gave me error message that the GGear is missing bluetooth folder.
I know alot of people would like to see this function working on Galaxy Gear without going to Tizen, if we could get a Dev to give us hand or if we get some insight on how the bluetooth connection works would be a step forward in getting this to work
Ive been looking around and trying a number of bluetooth apps, an l keep getting the error SPP communication failure
Im trying to find a solution to Serial Port Profile (SPP) error
if anyone has any ideas please post !

Gear manager should reconnect your phone without the need of Bluetooth auto connect..... the only thing I'm using that app for is a tasker profile to turn on Bluetooth tether on on the gear combined with a message to the phone to turn it on via secure settings.
Thanks, I should have mentioned I am not using gear manager. Is that the only way to reconnect when it gets out of range?
I use the app "Bluetooth Auto Connect". In the events section in it's setting I've got "Bluetooth On" and "Screen On" selected. In profiles I've got "Networking (PAN)" ticked and in Devices, if I select the phone I've paired it with I've got "Networking (PAN)" ticked in there as well
When my phone gets back in range of my phone it auto reconnects and I can get online from the watch.
I'm not using gear manager at all

as you discribe it, this is a very simple task and it would be too much effort to put in, to learn tasker just for this. There are much easier automation apps on the playstore where you can create such a task within minutes. Check out trigger, macro droid or, as I use, automate. The first two are very easy, automate is a bit more complex.
Good luck :good:
