[Q] Galaxy note unbreak - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i have korean galaxy note and i tried to convert it to n7000. Using odin n7000 pit file was written on korean note after that phone turned off and never turned on again. Battery is charged. The phone is not turning on, not booting into recovery or download mode. .Pls help me. is there any solution? i know i did stupid thing.

Korean note is not equal to n7000. If there is no recovery or download mode, then you might have to give it to a repair shop. So try harder to get to any one of the modes..

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S i9000 still not booting

I'm still kinda new to the Android platform and I need some help on this one.
I have a Galaxy Vibrant on Bell I9000m that was freezing after the "Samsung S" start up animation. I put the phone in download mode and using Odin I reinstalled the stock firmware (T959UVJFD) with (vibrant_21_stock_s1_odin_20100512.pit) on the phone. Everything appeared to go ok and Odin indicated "pass." After this was complete the phone is supposed to start a reboot process. This didn't happen, instead the battery life indicator will come on the screen for about 1 sec then the phone will reboot and show the battery indicator again. This will not stop until I unplug it. When I try to turn the phone on it will show the Samsung screen and then totally shut off. I can get it back in download mode. I tried three times with the same result.
Any suggestions?
M
Can you get into recovery (VolumeUp+Home+Power)?
If yes you could try to wipe your data-partition.
Note that after a new flash (or factory reset) the phone can take 5-10 minutes to boot.
Did you use a full firmware to flash (pda+phone+csc) or just a pda-file?
Did you use a .pit-file?
First question did you use the correct firmware for your phone ??
Your battery fully charged ???
jje
:Thanks for your replies. I can't get into recovery mode any more...I could before I used Odin. I used the pda file (which is a .tar file) + the pit file. The battery had over half charge when I did it.
Please excuse the ignorance of this question but is there :different firware for each network. So does Tmobile have specific firmware that if I put it on my Bell Mobility phone it can screw it up?
Thanks
More importantly than recovery is download mode, can you get into download mode?
Vol down + power + menu with usb disconnected and phone off.
Yes. Download mode still works. I tried reloading the software 3 times and i got the same problem each time.
Even though its a "Vibrant" its actually I9000M model. Vibrant is the american model. I9000M (bell) is the international model. So use different firmware
Seems like your trying to flash another phone's firmware.

Did you try the below solution? Buy a JIG on eBay, it's a must have for flash-o-philes!

How do i check my phone, is it hardbricked or softbricked?
Hi there.
From what I've met with my G.N, when you got other message than the yellow triangle, you may flash your G.N with a custom rom with no problems within Download Mode.
If you got the yellow triangle, you may could go to download mode, too and flash a custom rom.
if no way to go to download mode, then I think the only answer is JIG.

I have tried the 3-bottom method, and no reaction! Keep turned off! (Dead)

Maybe the USB jig will help you to boot into the download mode.
Can you enter CWM?
How did you "bricked" your Note?
What have you flashed?
I would flash my Note with odin.
But it fails, i think it was the wrong PIT file.
And after that, it turns off, and now i cant turn it on again.
Usb Jig is only for 2.3.4 and earlier use?
Mine is 2.3.6

Their is nothing to do with version. JIG used for Put your device in Download mode and Clear your Custom binary Counter.
Before flashing ROM please read all instructions carefully.
As they said while flashing ROM using PC Odin you should not use Pit file and Not to Tick "Re-Partition".
Yes.. MY BAD..! Now im stuck here with a dead phone. But the Usb jig can wake it alive again??

The USB jig can boot your phone into the download mode, but only if the phone does response in any other way, I think. For example showing the battery icon, when plugged in for charging.
But you can try it anyways.
The download mode will work!
the only exception is a hardware defect.
you can't get an hardware defect by flashing.
the bootloader (3 button or jig) will work.
there is no way to kill the hardware during flashing or something else.
buy a jig and it will work.
you wrote you see the samsung logo - that means, that the bootloader is OK.
happy flashing ;-)

Yes. But if your phone totally does not response, it might be a dead bootloader too. thats what i meant.

My N7000 is totally dead, it wont start up, the screen keep turned off. No response.

Well you can try the usb jig anyways, but if there is still no response there is no way out and you have to bring it to your local service partner or samsung, I think.
But one fact is good for you:
It doesn't response on anything you do. So that means it can't be read out and they'll not see that you've flashed it. They'll just change the mainboard and resend it to you. This happened to me with my samsung galaxy s.
I totally destroyed the bootloader and it won't response. I directly send it to samsung and they just change the mainboard, as I said.
For sure you doesn't have to pay anything, assumed you are in warranty.
I'm gonna buy a jig immediately, however all of them are indicated as for Galaxy S2. Will it work with galaxy note too, or should I keep looking something specific for Galaxy Note ?
It will work for you SGNote, too. Just go get one, and let us know what happened.

Hm...no mate...sorry... I think this sort of is it for your device... Flashing S2 firmwares on the Note does have that effect.
You could try a JIG, although it's a longshot, but most certainly be ready to take it to Sammy's service center. Say something went wrong while updating through Kies, although they might figure it out.
If they do figure it out, you're probably looking at a new motherboard, in the area of 200$ from what other users in similar situations have reported.
Try jtag or riff box.. Works well for samsung skyrocket, captivate and the likes. Might work for the note as well..
It could be that it's just the screen that doesent work but you are actully in download mode.
this happend to me once with my Nexus S, i flashed wrong rom to phone.
try connecting phone to PC and open CMD and run "adb devices" and se if the computer recognize the phone even thow the screen is black.
like i said, i had this problem once when flashing I9020T rom on my I9023 Nexus S once.
the screen that doesent work but you are actully in download mode !!!!!!!!!
try it until you got there

hmm
usually flashing different roms do brick the phone
and phone do not turn on. But atleast you can power up your device.
You can use jig to force your device to boot into download mode.
It may not work, but I heard few people got theirs work.

did someone really told you to wall charged when you had dowload screen? that's so uncharacteristic of XDA users.
nothing on your screen is not necessarily bricked.
find and download rom/firmware for t-mobile on ur pc.
start odin on ur pc.
press the power button on ur tab for at least 5secs.
connect ur tab to ur pc.
see if odin can detect your tab
if you can detect your tab, go ahead flash with the rom you just downloaded. No need to do repartition.
once done, reboot and see if it is fixed.

Note 5 Stuck on boot screen and won't open Recovery mode !!

So I recently tried rooting my phone ( Samsung Galaxy Note 5 SM-N9208 ) using custom firmware through Odin but when it had finished installing on to my phone it was just froze on the boot screen (saying "SAMSUNG Galaxy Note5 ... POWERED BY android"). I tried all kinds of ways like try and turn it off and on using the reset method (Volume down + Power key) but that didn't work.
I even tried to put it in Recovery mode but it just just puts me on the same boot up screen (saying "SAMSUNG Galaxy Note5 ... POWERED BY android"). The phone can be put on downloading mode but I tried to install the stock (orginal) firmware for my phones model (SM-N9208 ( duos ) ) but in Odin it just says "Fail". My Phone is still stuck on the boot screen and I don't know how to fix it and I think that if I take to to a repair shop they might say that trying to root your phone damages warrenty and not try to fix it. PLEASE HELP !! :crying:
Hey mate.
This happened to me.
1st I downloaded the stock firmware zip for my country there is a thread in general for all firmwares.
2nd unzip and flash AP file in AP section of Odin.
Wait for it on flash then you'll be good to go.
Sent from my SM-N9208 using Tapatalk
Which country firmware did you use?

It worked ! Thanks
I actaully did finally use this method but I had to use Taiwan firmware as there is not English one but I don't think that matters, thanks :good:
