What you mean by that "sony logo has disappeared"?
Have you unlocked bootloader and flash new kernel maybe?

This does not make sense.
Please tell us if you had installed a recovery, which one and if you have unlocked the bootloader

right bascially before the cyanogen mod boot sequence there used to be a stock sony one before it, now there is just a black screen then cyanogenmod one then the phone boots up fine but the if i try and boot into recovery it wont work and it just boots up the phone normally again, and yes unlocked boot loader and i have phillz clockwork mod recovery installed

If you have CM installed then the recovery is in the kernel, so you should still be able to get into it
Try using fastboot to flash just the kernel again
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img

Looks to me like android quick boot is enabled.

Is that even available on CM and if so, how would you disable it?
I'm having the exact same issue as the OP. I tried flashing a lot of boot.imgs via fastboot, but none of them seem to be working. The LED goes orange but the screen stays blank.

What ROM are you running?
Which kernels did you flash?

I don't know about the OP, but I am running CM11 from CyanogenMod.org and I have flashed their boot.img (which contains the kernel, for as far as I understand).

Look in developer options under root access to see if quick boot is enabled

There appears to be no such setting there.

I ended up using FlashTool to flash the official firmware, flashed DoomLord's recovery from there and rooted from that recovery. No more CM11 for me as it's just trouble. The lastest official firmware has more features than when this phone launched, so more than happy with this working setup!

I have a similar problem. I have installed cwm recovery and I checked that it is installed from the Rom manager app. I have stock firmware 4.4.4 . When I try to boot into recovery mode my phone boots as normal with the sony logo and then the xperia logo. I have tried many things,apps to boot it into recovery mode but it boots into normal mode. I want to install cyanogenmod. I tried to install it through rom manager but at boot it boots normally. What could be the reason?

How did you install cmw?
If you want to install cm, then fastboot the kernel from the update.zip then enter recovery and flash the update.zip

I installed it through one of the tutorials here on xda. It was dual recovery. When I check in rom manager it says cwm and twrp installed. The problem is entering into recovery. I tried to enter recovery mode by pressing the volume button, by using recovery boot option in rom manager but nothing seems to work. I have cwm and twrp installed.
I just want to boot into recovery mode.

Do you get the double vibration when you boot up?
If so keep pressing and letting go and pressing again the volume + button when the double vibration happens

Yes, I get the double vibration when the phone boots. I tried what you said ,it just vibrates and boots as normal. Isn't there some log or some info I can provide you to see what's messed up. I tried to repair my phone through sony companion but it says that your phone software is modified so can't go further.
I want to go into recovery mode so I can install cyanogen mod on my z1. I have rooted it, unlocked the bootloader, installed dual recovery but can't go into recovery mode.

Can you post the guide for me which you used to flash the phone?

Flash the boot.img from the update.zip for CM using fastboot. Then enter recovery and flash the update.zip

[Q] Stuck infintie boot loop of Teamwin

Hello in need of some serious help my xperia z was rooted but with locked bootloader i tried to flash a app thru Teamwin it sent me into a boot loop so now all the phone does is flash team win then turn off and on it has a solid purple light any help will be appreciated and i will make a donation thru paypal for anyone that can help!!
Seems can be fixed very easy:
Either fire up PCC and choose repair phone.
Else download Flashtool, disable force driver signing and install the following drivers from Flashtool:
- Xperia Z
- Fastboot
- Flash mode
Then download a ftf with stock firmware, and Flash it using Flashtool.
Et voilá, your phone is back with the livings.
If you can't find a ftf, just ask me, i'll upload mine tomorrow.

While phone is in usb bootloader mode, type in cmd "fastboot erase Cache" and it should return to normal.
Btw: have you flashed anything that would make this happen? Like kernal or mods?

Read the op on how to install whatever mod you want to flash and make sure it's a flashable zip through recovery. The sound mod might have done it if you didn't install it right. I don't think you need a flash tool to flash the mod and you could have done it through your phone's recovery.

Help. My device is stuck on boot animation - cwm and twrp will not load

The title says it all.
I went ahead and tried to install Paranoid android RC2, I flash it then subsequently the GApps using TWRP. Now, the device is stuck forever in the boot animation and neither TWRP or CWM (installed with DualZRecovery) will work.
Is there any way by which I can somehow revert what has happened here? This has never happened to me before.
Needless to say if I can avoid having a $400 paperweight, I have sworn to never risk custom roms on my main phone again.
Just flash some kernel with recovery and restore your backup. If you don't have backup, download some of stock or custom roms and flash via Flashtool or recovery......or just use search function

As I said, the main problem is that for some ungodly reason CWM is not working despite the fact that it is what i used to flash PA into the phone in the first place. I have never had a case where CWM itself failed. I need to be in Fastboot mode for flashtool right?
Well the phone wont even go into recovery so im not sure how to get it into fastboot.
1. Download some of newest stock ftf and put it to firmware folder in Flashtool
2. Start Flashtool, press flash btn and pick stock rom
3. Press vol- and connect usb simultaneously and wait about 3 min.
That's it.
Your phone is brand new stock :good:

I think it was because I forgot to wipe the dalvik cache after installation of the ROM - although why CWM itself stopped working I have no clue.
How did u unlock your bootloader? Flashing aosp base rom require u to unlocked your bootloader first bcos of the custom kernel..if u unlocked your bootloader, did u fastboot flash boot.img?

[Q] [Help] bootloop with no recovery

I tried to flash the new Kitkat ROM on my stock-rooted ROM but flashed it wrong (as my bootload is not unlocked as needed).
Now I'm stuck on bootloop when I see the new ROM's logo showing up for few seconds but reboot imediately..
My recovery is also gone.. I can't access it.. (I have my backup there, I only need to reach it)
I tried to use flashtool and adb but I can't control them..
How can I flash CWM recovery through any of them?
Please provide link and explain I'm freaking out here..
Thanks!

Use fastboot to flash... Just make sure your phone is in fastboot/flash mode first
If your on locked boot loader then you have to do a ftf/flash tool restore

[Recovery] and [Root] Galaxy Tab 3 Lite T110, CWM, TWRP, Philz Touch

Watch THIS VIDEO tutorial for a step by step visual guide for performing the instructions listed below (thanks @Tomsgt for the video).
Instructions:
1. Download ODIN on your computer.
2. Power off the device.
3. Restart in "Download Mode" by holding the "HOME" button, "Volume Down" and "Power" all at the same time (for about 5 seconds).
4. Hit the "Volume Up" to enter download mode.
5. Start the ODIN exe program. Un-check Auto Reboot. See notes about ODIN below.
6. Connect the device via USB to your computer. Verify the device shows as "Added" in the Message box. If it doesn't show then you need the Samsung USB drivers (just install KIES to get them). Also need to enable USB debugging.
7. Select "PDA" (or AP) then choose the recovery file you want to flash. (Unzip the file you downloaded so that you have a file named "recovery.tar.md5".)
8. Hit "START". Wait for Odin to finish (~10-15 seconds). The message area will display "RES OK" when finished.
9. Restart directly to recovery mode before rebooting into OS.(Hold POWER, Volume UP, and the HOME button all at the same time. When you see the Samsung Logo, let go of the POWER button, but keep holding the Volume UP and HOME until you see the recovery screen).
Notes about ODIN
--Make sure that "Re-Partition" is NOT checked.
--Auto Reboot can be un-checked if CWM doesn't flash correctly on your device. Some have reported that un-checking Auto Reboot fixes this issue. If you un-check Auto Reboot, you will need to reboot the device yourself (refer back to step 9).
After you get the custom recovery working, you can flash the latest SuperSu zip to get root.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Watch this video to learn about the navigation issues and Rainbow Mode: http://youtu.be/iCNdxlNzdBI
If the highlight doesn't move on the recovery menu, the selection actually does change. Go ahead and hit Power to select. If the menu goes blank, just hit Volume Up or Down to get it to reappear.
It appears that the menu navigation issue only happens when you use the button combination to boot into recovery. If you use the Quick Boot app or "adb reboot recovery", it seems to work properly. Only use the 3-button method to boot into recovery.
Flash at own risk!!!!
I do not have a T110, so this recovery has not been tested by me. Please report if it works for you.
Same install instructions as above.
After installation, you may experience slow behavior in recovery if you use the button combination to boot into recovery. Using Quick Boot from the play store or any other software method to boot into recovery will solve this problem.
Internal card gets mounted as "/data/media/0".
Please report any issues here in this thread and be sure to include which recovery you are using.
If you already have root, you can extract the recovery.img from this zip and flash it without Odin by using Flashify from the Play Store.
