[Discussion] Android 4.4.3 Sense 6 update - Sprint HTC One (M7)

Hello all!
I just got in touch with a representative from HTC and apparently we are expecting an OTA this coming up week Pending approval.
Sent from my HTCONE using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

I also asked about WIFI Calling and apparently it is within the update

Cool I might come back to sense from aosp

I'm surprised they didn't jump straight to 4.4.4...

not sure, but 4.4.3 does have 4.4.4 fixes in it

Thank you for the insight! However, I don't see in your picture whether HTC is referring to the SPRINT M7. Does HTC know you are asking about Sprint?

I was told we (the m7) will be getting 4.4.4 and skipping 4.4.3??
Sent from my HTCONE using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

from what i see, we will be getting 4.4.3 but 4.4.4 fixes are in the 4.4.3 update. (don't ask me how that is possible lol) i do not know why the android version is still 4.4.3 but looks like we will be on par.

From what I understand most if not all 4.4.4 "fixes" were nexus specific with the exception of the security exploit. To save time HTC implemented the security exploit fix with the rest of the 4.4.3 code.

What's new in 4.4.3?

Not sure if this means the update is coming... I got the HTC Service Pack update via the Google Play Store. No listing of what changed.

I don't think the update referred to in the OP is for us. I keep seeing reports that the carrier M7s are staying in 4.4.2 until L is out.

Here, last paragraph. Not sure how reliable it is, but the only reference to the M7 being updated is the GPE, unlocked and Dev editions. Hope I'm wrong...

The few articles I read where a bit confusing because they say the M7 is getting updated to 4.4.3 but then say the M7 won't be updated until 5.0 is out. Too bad Mo isn't clarifying things either.
My guess in only the Dev and GPE will get updated due to their stock android while Sprint M7 misses out.

NEW SPRINT VVM for Andorid 4.3

Hey Guys. The New update of the HTC ONE came with a new SPRINT VVM (5.3.5.2 if I am not mistaking)
I extracted the .apk and .odex file from my stock rom but I am not a coder. I dont know how to compile it into a working APK for all roms. But I am sure someone in here is. so Here you go.

Well I checked for a Voicemail update and nothing came up, and I'm not going to switch to a stock ROM to check for a Software Update, so please provide screenshots showing that you're on Android 4.3 for Sprint.
That apk didn't work for me. I don't know if this is for real or what. I am sure we will know by the end of the day.

Hey guys, I actually work for Sprint, and the update hasn't even been announced. This is clearly a troll. He has now started two threads, and the other was closed.
I'm gonna quote this forum moderator, who really seems to have some smart things to say.

Meaning the international ROM's that support Sprint will be dropping us and no new ROM's will be adding us.

Why cant it be flashed to Sprint, Sense is just like a ROM isn't it? it wouldn't be like porting a version of android over, or am I wrong?

Its definitely much more than that buddy. Wish it was that simple tho.
One of the fine editors over at android central had heard, unofficially of course, to expect something in november. So while that may or may not be for the international One, we weren't that far behind for the 4.3 launch, and as this is a relatively minor update in comparison, I don't see why it would take any longer for this to go through the proper channels.

Yeah you're wrong.
However it could be ported. I'm sure it will be.
Guys this is 5.5 and it is ported to sprint! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2279766

U will get the official Sense update by end January. BTW official CM11 nightlies are available
Or you can unlock, flash custom recovery and use a sense based 4.4 custom rom.
The developer edition is Sense, Google Play edition is AOSP(mostly)

Personally i dont see any benefits. It gets updates a little bit sooner but nothing big. If you get an actual developer edition device though you get 64gb of storage and unlocked bootloader

A. Wrong section, should just go in the Q&A section.
B. Official update will be out sometime in June I believe.
Like the above poster said, this is the wrong section to ask such a question. Furthermore, there are plenty of Sense 6 roms available for you to flash right now! With all due respect, please read the rules and learn the etiquette of posting.

However I am glad that there are developers like mike who release a sense update few days after the release of the new htc one
