Hi,
I just installed the Xposed installer.
I'm trying to install the XPosed framework. Tried the classic way, but after reboot the framework is not installed; then tried with the recovery, but it says "installation aborted". The phone is rooted, of course.
Please help me
What phone do you have? What recovery? You need to have a custom recovery to flash it

Phone: huawei g700 (4.2). I don't have any custom recovery, I think, but in the instructions for the installation of Xposed this wasn't mentioned

How is your phone rooted, if not from a custom recovery? Or did you revert from the custom recovery to a stock recovery after rooting?
If you selected "Classic" install in Android, it tries to install directly via root methods. This fails if you do not have root.
If you selected recovery method, an installationfile is saved to your SD card, and that is then automatically installed when the phone reboots (into the custom recovery you installed). If no custom recovery is installed, then the recovery method is pointless as the means by which the installation takes place, is not there at all (the custom recovery).
Please download Root Checker ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.joeykrim.rootcheck ) - does it verify you have root?
Kind Regards

I used FRAMAROOT, which is the easiest way. The root is verified. And the system recovery is there, I also tried to manually flash the zip, but it says "installation aborted". If I choose the classic mode, it reboots but with no results, as the framework is not present, even if the two voices (app process and xposedbridge) are green and active.
I have z2 with rooted, I just installed xposed, but when I am trying to update framework work it shows me this error,.
Now I tried with a custom recovery, this time it flashed the zip and everything seemed alright, but then again when rebooted, in the Xposed launcher it seems like no framework has been installed, and there is still the red error :crying:

Which "red error" are you referring to? If it's just the red text on the welcome screen, but the version number is green, check the log section if there is any error message there. You might have run into the issue "ClassCastException" that is mentioned in the FAQ.

There is an old and a new way to install things in a recovery, and xposed uses the new way cannot remember the names or the difference), but your recovery must support it. What recovery did you flash, and what error do you get?

Yes, that's the error. So there's no way to get it working? In the settings I can't see any option to disable the resources API, as suggested in the FAQ.

AT&T HTC One m7 running ARHD 53.0 with TWRP. After I install the Xposed Installer apk I cannot Install/Update at all.
I press the Install/Update button, it asks me for SuperU permissions and when I grant it permission my phone reboots.
No updates are applied after the reboot, as my app_process and XposedBridge.jar are still "--" ...
I have tried countless times with different versions. My apologies if this thread was already created.
I've also tried every kind of installation process. (Recovery from zip auto, recovery from zip manual)
It just causes my phone to reboot every time with no updates. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Sounds like a function related to S-On, but if not even installation via recovery works (which doesn't write to /system), I'm afraid I can't help you.

I have a similar problem, only with the international version. Try soft rebooting the device, not fully rebooting. It also might not work if you use the Xposed app to soft reboot, try another if you have more problems.
I had the exact same problem after I installed the new Revolution HD 70.0 yesterday. I tried many times to reinstall and reboot but had no luck.
modules not working with xposed update
i have htc desire x rooted stock rom 4.1.1, i had gravity box and xblast module up an drunning however after upgrading xposed to 2.6 they bot stopped working, i tried reinstalling and rebooting modules are not working. is there any way around? please help.
Xposed log please. Also, are the version numbers in the install section green after rebooting?
I've been having the same issue with my m8. For me, XposedBridge.jar is green at version 54, but app_process is a red ---.
Here is my log.

When you tried manual installation, did the output in recovery show a message that the file was flashed successfully?
everyone here who has problem install the installer.apk, please check your device if it is rooted or s-off. the apk only work with rooted or s-off device. for those has s-on device, you need install the xposed from recovery with a zip file. I just flashed the ARHD 70.0, still looking for a xposed 2.6 zip file. please if anyone know where to get one, please post here.

Choose manual flashing as installation mode, then it will be written to your SD card. The zip itself doesn't work without prior installation with in this mode.
So is there no hope for us having the Xposed framework again? (HTC One M7 Same issue)
For some reason with 2.6.1 recovery loops without installing if you choose automatic recovery method. I was able to complete it manually. Note that I'm already S-OFF so technically I didn't have to go this route but I did anyways because I was using recovery before I went S-OFF.
Yes. Xposed will install via recovery if you are not S-OFF yet. Alternatively use a kernel that allows writing to /system when S-ON is active.
Anyways those looking for the zip to flash should pay attention to the location of the data storage for the zip. I guess it isn't being copied to the root of the sdcard anymore?
Location: /sdcard/Android/data/de.robv.android.xposed.installer/files
In there you should have Xposed-Installer-Recovery.zip that you need to flash in recovery mode.

Ahh, actually not. It just rebooted nearly right away when I confirmed the flash. I haven't flashed anything in awhile so I forgot that there was a screen after. So I guess it didn't actually flash. :\

Hi folks,
So I have a rooted HTC One with 4.4.2 + Sense 6 (stock) I have installed Xposed via the 2.6.1 apk but can't find which flashable zip to use to flash in CWM to get it working. I have searched for literally hours but can only find reference to version 2.4.1 or earlier. Is that the zip version I flash in CWM even though 2.6.1 apk was installed?
Thanks.

You have to "Full unroot" in SuperSU settings and restore the stock recovery. Otherwise OTA will fail. After the OTA is installed, You can easily return to TWRP and flash SuperSU.
okay thanks! also instead of twrp could I use chainfire again?
Unfortunately, i tried to install OTA and now every time i turn on my phone it reboots and tries to install 5.02 only to get an error and it stays at twrp menu. So what can i do now?
lol after many reboots phone decided to tell me that update was unsuccessful so it works again.
more details pls for a beginner
I made the same mistake trying to flash OTA 5.02 over rooted device 4.4.4 . I got out of the loop by moving the download zip from system/cache to external sd...
just wanting to make sure I do all the right things and in order:
so in Super SU I go the FULL UNROOT
how do I then restore stock recovery?
Once I I have restored it what are the steps for the zip and install via stock recovery?
sorry about the boring questions - it's still a bit of a jungle for a beginner

Sure. But why? Twrp is superior in every aspect. It's like deliberately crippling your toaster so that only one slice fits.
Will I be able to install ota updates with stock recovery and after unroot if I do changes to /system?

Nice imagination.
But why do I often read that TWRP will be overwritten by Lollipop with custom recovery when rebooting the phone? Some people therefore recommend the Chainfire CF-Auto-Root instead.
So after unlocking bootloader can I flash TWRP in fastboot mode and superSU afterwards without those kind of problems?

It's a "feature" introduced by google for their nexus. I will quote the twrp website:
The stock ROM will automatically replace TWRP with the stock recovery. To prevent the stock ROM from replacing TWRP, boot TWRP, go to the mount menu and mount system, press the home button, then press Advanced ->File Manager. Browse to /system and select the file named recovery-from-boot.p then choose to rename the file to recovery-from-boot.bak
Or you flash the SuperSU.zip. That will prevent the override too.

Thx a lot for your explantion.
This was one of the things that irritated me right from the start when I was checking out the possibilities of custom recovery/root within 5.0.
I heard about the file-renaming thing but didnĀ“t realize that superSu will do the job too and that it is a Nexus "feature" at all.
Helped me very much!
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 (verizon SCH-I545) running android 5.0.1
I have already rooted my device using KingRoot
I have been trying to flash the xposed zip file for several days now and I'm not having any luck. I've tried a few different tools to flash but they all kick me to bootloader but fail to flash the zip. I get the following error when bootloader is verifying the update package:
Code:
E:footer is wrong
E:signature verification failed
I've tried putting the zip file on my device and on SD to see if that might help, but still no dice. Does anyone have suggestions or know what I'm doing wrong? I'm using the most recent zip from XDA (xposed-v86-sdk21-arm.zip updated 08-Jul-2016 15:25... I've also tried arter97's package and dkcldark's package as well as Magisk v1)

Anyone have any suggestions?

I wasn't aware of the install twrp step which answers most of the questions I have about this.
I tried it and softbricked my device. Did a little more research and it looks like the kernel I have won't allow me to install TWRP. I'm trying to use verizion's recovery tool to downgrade/repair the device and I'll see if I can get this device rolled back and TWRP installed.
Thank you for the info, this gives me a launching point at least. I'll check back here if/when I get TWRP installed and I try to disable the validation.
This thread is probably your answer

Hola. i just did this on vz GS4 i545:
use FlashFire for everything. make sure you have a titanium backup of your apps and data for after you flash new ROM. here are the steps:
1. Flash Fire Zip or OTA stock of1 deodexed ROM from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...1-keeproot-t3182544/post62413212#post62413212
it will spend 10 to 15 minutes on the red Verizon splash screen.
2. reload from titanium at this point.
3. install xposed 3.0alpha4.apk from the xposed forum page.
4. flashfire zip or ota Arter97's xposed v65 sdk21 arm arter97 V5 krait.zip
this last step took about 35 minutes to upgrade all 260 plus apps i have.
make sure you have the proper uninstaller loaded too just in case. i put mine on the ext sd card in case i needed to load it from recovery. though that might not work because of the unsigned issue.
Hello, my name is Nathan. I recently have rooted my phone in order to make it more customizable. I would like to use the Xposed framework to create a fake wireless access point for my phone because I am doing reverse USB tethering.
Here are the specs and information about my rig:
Phone model: Asus Zenfone 2e
Android version: 5.0.1
andrion kernel version: 3.10.20-i386_ctp
Android build number: ATT_12.16.10.92
Andriod ROM: stock
rooted: yes
superSU installed: yes
Computer operating system: Windows 10 65-bit
Asus drivers installed on pc: yes
ADB installed: yes
Anything else?
My trouble is that I have a rooted phone, no backups, and would like to install the Xposed framework, but do not really understand the steps. YouTube videos have not been very helpful.
It would be very helpful if anyone could explain to me every single step needed to go from a phone that is not backed up, and only rooted, nothing else, to a rooted phone with the Xposed framework installed.
Thank you!

Most probably it's unlocked depends on the instructions you followed , I've listed the general steps for xposed thou.
Did you install any kind of custom recovery?
If you rooted your device with zip file that's mean you have the custom recovery and if that's the case then all you need is to flash xposed zip file (make sure of the right version)
I never installed a custom recovery.
