Is it possible on locked bootloader?? Developers should answer!

You can't just request anything here and expect it to be delivered on a plate.
Developers SHOULD answer? (With an exclamation mark)... Should, are you serious...
Might aswell ask for a new Porsche 911 as a little extra while you're at it... [\sarcasm mode off]
I get the feeling you guys are convinced it's only a matter of pushing a button and ... voila... a new ROM.
Try to behave and be grateful that allot of developers have already spent thousands of hours on the current available ROMS for our Xperia SP.
And for the love of god, stop asking this question in every single thread on the forum!!! It's ANNOYING!!!

The problem is that you're posting this question all over the forum, which is called spamming!
If you really want to have this ROM, try learning how to make them yourself instead of bothering everyone with your question like a little kid.
Don't think everything in life will be handed over to you just like that simply by asking for it.

Well, I tried but I failed, I got bootloop and logcat was not working and I spent 2 weeks trying to make it work, but it did not work. This is why I came here asking someone to port it

I'm sure most developers have spent allot more than 2 weeks on learning how to port or build a ROM.
Just keep trying and eventually I'm sure you'll succeed. Just don't give up that easily!
Good luck!

Even with school you can get far.
It took me 2 years to get as far as i am now.
Its all trial and error and persistence is what gets you further.
Even with limited time ( everyday i had school ) all nights i spent
Its all persistence
And do note htc sense roms needs more then just a system folder port
Modded kernel
Etc
Many things

maybe, next year I will try to learn more

Hey, bro, I had just tried it.
Now I likely finished editting the updater-script.
I can flash it and reboot, but not boot up.
It will get a black screen and not get into the second boot animation.
My work is based on CM11-nightly-1006 and ported from Liberty-V1 for One mini (M4).

Is there a full and stable Android ROM for topaz that can completely replace Windows Mobile and run as the main OS?

Yes I did and I have downloaded two versions that I already tried on my device. Both of them boot using an executable after windows mobile boot. And both of them do not response after 10 minutes of use when the device has gone to sleep mode (screen off).
I would really appreciate it if you could point the thread that answers my question.
Why did you buy Topaz with Windows if you will use Android?
Maybe it would be better to buy some device with Android ROM

If you DID read it, then you'd know that the NAND version is in development, and all you can use right now is HARET.
Oh, and you're setting it up wrong if it keeps freezing.
Guys take it easy! You don't have to be that arrogant!
@Tsubaki-San If my question is answered a million times, then I guess there is reason why people ask the same and same again. So I will not feel bad!
@zizkam I have my device for a year now and I was thinking to change it a little bit without giving any money. Maybe it's a bad idea. We will see...
@seargent007 I guess that I missed this part and this is way I'm asking. I didn't mean to cause any trouble!
Thanks for your help!!!

Sorry, I know what you mean. How about now?
I'd love for it to happen, and I've been following this forum for quite some time now. Still nothing.
I think we'll just have to buy a new phone... and not one with an OS by Microsoft (NEVER AGAIN!!!). Not to disrespect the great work done on this project...
A fully stable version would be great, but unfortunateley I don't see us seriously using Android on Topaz, other than just for testing and fun.

I disagree, the development team has done most of the work, it isn't out of the question to see a stable rom soon.
I'd really like this to work ! i've been using my htc desire for a few months now,
but i'm looking forward to using my diamond again for daily use - with android - !

Incredible s DEAD!!

I feel its time to move on isnt it?
what do you guys think, the development rate has declined steadily and also there's hardly any developer left!
I guess by november its will be moved to legacy devices on XDA!!
Hmm, jellybean roms, a new transformer promised, at least or 2 or 3 excellent developers rumours of viper mod, yeah nothing left here, bye..

Like what's happening now, people new to deving are releasing stuff
We learn a lot from xda, a year ago I would not have thought I would be in the possession on a new device ruu trying to port it

Would also love to try but I'm too busy right now to do anything... school, drivers licence, more school and also I just bought FIFA 13 yesterday This stuff keeps me away from being more active on xda, but I still do my part by making banners, sigs and stuff esp for Nik right now Good enough
Can't just some random dev rise up from us and port this Desire X ROM? Man you would be treated like Jesus! Or at least his little unknown brother
why not to ask NIK for help

I'm not a dev but I just would have given it a try if I had the time... Nik is actually busy by PX Transformer. Also his first One X ROM. And of course he has a life, too with personal stuff and he even goes to Milan soon So he has got enough work by now. And I guess he still didn't got his new IncS from our hero fjordell (sry if written wrong) since shipping can take time.

State of Development :)

For those of you that have been around these parts for a while, you may remember the State of Development updates that good ol' Gsleon3 used to update us with. These came for us at a time when development for the Vivid seemed to be at a standstill, and for those of you that were here, you remember why. For those of you who don't, let me catch you up a little (and I apologize for the bad feelings that this may drum up, but I don't want anything to get out of control again). So grab a beer and a snack, this may be a long one
It was about April, and development for the Holiday was still in its infancy. There were a few good ROMs being released, and generally, it was a good place to be. Then accusations of stealing other's work, accusations of corrupt moderators, and all around child-like behavior started, and it became the downfall of the Holiday forum at XDA. ROM threads started closing. Then came the bickering. Then the Devs left. Then the users began to play the blame game, and the "let me try to whine my way to what I want" game. All the best devs left and opened up shop in their own little corners of the internet (and I can't blame them one bit), and development for the device was no longer centralized. There were/are still AWESOME ROMs available for this device, just not on XDA. This always made me a little sad. As painful of a place as XDA (or any internet forum for that matter) can be at times, there's sooooo much good information crammed into one site that it has always been my one-stop shop, but that wasn't true any longer. I settled in, I found a home, but I kept a close eye on what else was happening across the interweb's Holiday community. I liked to keep my eye on one project specifically, synergy's CM10 project, because who wouldn't want JellyBean, right?
Now, a little more information for those of you who weren't around.. The original CM10 thread was opened at another site in July, where the project started. Syn put a lot of time and effort into it, but in the end, found it to be not worth his time to continue on a project he didn't see possible to ever be finished (mainly due to the ATT in-call mic issue and video issues), and again, who can blame him? He abandoned the project at the beginning of August. This is where mg picked the project up, and continued it with a few fixes himself, before somehow we caught the attention of h8rift. h8 has been awesome - cleaning up our trees, getting things in their proper home, and powering through anything that gets in his way It's so great to have him around.
Myself, up until October, had only ever had experience with things like making boot animations, icons, editing .xmls in .apks, and some slight .smali edits. Thanks to mg's excellent guide and a crapton of Googling, I learned out how to compile/build cm from source. Then I thought, "I wonder if I could do the same for other JB flavors?" So guess what? I tried, and it worked. Every single question I had along the way (with the exception of a few Ubuntu and git specific questions), were answered by a thread here at XDA. Cool, right?
I am very excited to see new ROMage out for this device...as I'm sure anyone who was here through the "Great Holiday Wars of 2012" would agree, I was pretty sure what we had was all we were ever going to see. Which again, would have been OK, cause there are some great ROMs out there, but I've never been the kind of dude to settle in on the same ROM for too long - that's why I came to XDA in the first place. Now as I'm sure everyone can see, through collaboration, this project is making HUGE progress! I cannot thank mg and h8 enough for keeping it going. This brings me to my last point...
I encourage everyone to participate, and offer suggestions, and share information - that is, after all, what a developer's forum should be about. The wealth of knowledge that's available at XDA is out of this world, but sometimes hiding deep within the threads, filled by off-topic chatter and users who have way to huge a sense of entitlement. Please always keep in mind that the things you're getting here are free. Hours upon hours upon hours of work go into these projects, just to be shared for very little asked in return. Wait, we ask for something in return? Yes - READ, SEARCH, and SEARCH AGAIN before posting. Like I said, there's already a wealth of knowledge here that's incomparable to other Android forums on the web, but yes, sometimes it can be trying to find that information. But it's not impossible. Also - keep an eye on the issues list. There are bugs. There will probably always be bugs. And as long as there are, they will continue to be squished to the best of our ability (though h8's ability is far beyond mine, so let's especially be nice to him )
In closing - PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do not let this place become what it was before. So far I feel like the atmosphere around here has been a lot better, but I know how easy it can be for it to slip back to where it was. So be respectful, don't ask for ETAs, and be thankful for what we have - cause what we now have is a TON more options that we had before.
I remember the "Great Holiday Wars of 2012"... it was ugly, didn't even want to visit the site half the time. But things are looking up and I'm glad I didn't return my vivid thirty days after the release date like so many did.

Well said homeslice. Although I haven't been as active in my participation I got the Vivid on day 1 and am really happy to see development where it is today. There were many points I thought the device was basically dead and time and time again it was revived with new life. Hopefully the few left can make sure not to repeat drama mistakes of the past.
And great job on going from a reader to a developer, very well done.
Why is my xda premium app only let me reply/post on certain sections of forums and not development??:banghead:

Sorry but we don't approve of the use of our work by non-team members and do not condone the porting of any of our roms to other devices for various reasons. One of those reasons is these roms will never meet the same level of quality and support our users have become accustomed to as such, these roms will never be allowed on xda and will also be refused Venom Hub access.

Btw, we're not trying to be the bad guys here... We're simply trying to protect our property. Perhaps the best way for you to achieve your objective is to reach out to the kangers to find out how they managed to port it over to your device...

That's exactly what I want but there is a language barrier, instead of releasing could you try to make it legit here with your team? Please I know there are really good developers and they can find how to make it legit is all I ask I do not want to make an issue out of trying to help others with this device, this device is capable of running this Rom flawless just like the one x or rezound which in fact is is the same device but cdma could you help us or assign this port to one of your team members?
Or if none of you has the vivid let a vivid developer take care of it please we have really good developers here to!!

This all sounds familiar...the point of this thread...
Let's just drop it. The villec2 should get its jellybean sense+ update soon, and maybe we can port it. Or maybe we can get the Koreans to share their secret. In the meantime, it appears to be elsewhere, so get it there if you must

So, the options are:
1. We remove all of our tweaks from the framework files of a kanged port of one of our roms so that you can use it as a base
2. You find a Korean translator to ask the one who got data working how he did it.
Let's not start more xda drama the vivid forum has already been thru this. Either find someone who speaks Korean to ask to translate or have them remove all of their tweaks like they ask. The vivid has come to far now to start drama over a sense 4 ROM

I'm not been sarcastic please help the vivid users to get a sense 4 Rom up and running if you can remove your framework from it that would be awesome to use it as a base I know you and your team are great developers I'm using your viper Rom on my wifes phone and I am really impressed with what you guys have done, I never wanted to start a war here or elsewhere all I want to do is give the sense 4 option to vivid owners like me!! I'm really sorry I have caused any issues.
Happy New year to everybody !!!! I hope this mess get resolved soon !!!

You don't understand the work effort in removing our tweaks from the framework so you'll need to follow up with the Koreans.
And I honestly hope we don't see any more links to this kang roms, either here or on rootzwiki.

Obtaining Root

Searched for two days before asking this so if I missed this-my apologies in advance. Is there or is there not a working root tool/utility if I currently have 4.3 on the device (I was sent a new one and it was updated already)-and what/where is it? Please point me in the right direction and I really, really appreciate the help here.

Some context since I have a moment: I Used some type of tool/program to root this thing when I got launch day. I finally broke it on a business trip in Japan last week and I have honestly fell off the forums completely since my son was born about the same time as I originally rooted this thing. That, combined with a partnership I have taken on in business- has essentially taken all free time away and, when my replacement arrived yesterday, I felt completely inept and without any reference point in my head to work from. Sad, I really miss having the time to mess around with my gadgets and I've learned so much here, but I'm really hoping to find some balance soon enough. So on lunch, after a day and a half of searching, I gave up and indeed made a very clumsy post, absent of any real thought-clearly showing some frustration. I Still have no idea where this all in one that I know I used to root this originally went and I certainly posted in the wrong section-no excuse for that- the gentleman has every right to react how he sees fit although after 7 years here I never found any productivity come out of commenting in that manor-so I choose to conduct myself differently from the outset. Appreciate the time and help.

I hear you; five kids, a full time job, and full time school and I try to build ROMs for this device. I understand where your coming from. Not the end of the world. But, as I have said in my threads before, if you make a really silly request, I reserve the right to mess with you about it. That's just me. But, I do it in playfulness, not actual meanness. Be cool, and if you need any help with anything, look me up.

No doubt you have that right and I'm all for bustin chops as well-to a point of course and yours was constructive. But some of the rage that I regularly see come out in comments here really bewilders me-I mean a paragraph about what a blanking idiot someone is or details about what they can go do to themselves- all because they are having trouble with something or even made a thoughtless post (like I did) -makes me want to say- "dude what happened in your day/life to react that strongly over something so insignificant?". Who knows. Anyway, I really appreciate you reaching out and relating to my situation a bit- especially since you clearly have a very busy life yourself-to say the least.

bootloader locked bs....

I think this is bs. No roms,no nothing for this damn phone still. Its been months and no progress. I am not a developer and yes i complaining. Nobody can say that the bootloader is locked down or its because of kitkat... look at the g2 the g3 its insane with how much roms there is. I dont believe anything or anyone saying the bootloader is locked....A BUNCH OF BS!!!. I am going to look into developing for this phone because we are at a standstill for far too long. Gonna install linux on my computer when i have free time and atart putting in work.

Feel exactly the same.
This phone is like a king among phones, but a king who is in exile
Even with stock this phone is simply outstanding and I'm sure LG will update it to lollipop
But it needs lots of developer love for sure
I'm also learning how to develop, just for the love of this device

Not by any means a developer, but I'm pretty tech savvy and know a few languages, so if i can help in any way let me know. I want to get this ball rolling!
We are gonna need some help from mattwheat also. Busy this weekend but will check out some things soon....
Guys the bootloader is definitely locked down tighter than sh#!. But there is a work around. I.e. "BUMP"
With the Flex 2 now out I figured all hope WS gone for this device. If I knew more or had the time to learn like I used to have we would be rockin some AOKP, RESERECTION, OR some CM-12 based ROM.
I used to be on night shift for years and had all the time in the world after work (hence my 3am and 4am post). But I've left that company to start a new job that is now day shift. Which allows me more time with my son. But cuts into the amount of time I used to have. But I wouldn't change it for the world. But I will help anytime I can. But I think by summer I may move to either the Nexus 6 or the Flex 2 <--- only if the boot loader is unlockable like the LG G3 is.
It is a shame about the boot loader. Gave the flex to my daughter and moved on to the
Nexus 6 and have no regrets.

It's about as old as this thread. This phone needs a developer willing to spend some time. Start a CM bounty thread and see where that goes

Since it is rootable and a custom recovery can be installed. It should be a near walk in the park for the devs.
