So i have been googling for hours trying to find a way to boost the volume on my s3 mini but so far no luck, i'm starting to think it's impossible but thinking this is a android phone there must be a way. Has anyone successfully managed to boost volume on your device?

Exactly what I was/am and will continue to search for until I find it I recently installed Viper4android for clearer audio, but I noticed that it also boosts the volume a bit (I think). Try it out. If it doesn't boost the volume, well, you're gonna have a better sounding phone, at least

There's a video player that can boost your volume while using it (VM Player i think), so it should be possible
try this work very good on my s3 Poweramp

Yeah V4A is a brilliant piece of software. It does boost the volume slightly making it more clearer and brighter but i'm still left wanting more. This is really annoying and i can't understand why google/samsung would do such a thing removing the ability to use the product just the way you want. I guess it's result of the bloody EU Volume limit that is beyond stupid imo.

Poweramp = best music player ever
You can also try setting PowerAmp to Phone Speaker (Loud) equalizer and enabling V4A. That way you'll get clearer, but at the same time louder volume.

Dear Whiz91
Use Volume+ 1.9.0.5 on rooted phone. It's improve the volume highly.
In Cyanogenmod (and it's goes the same for any custom rom I guess) you have that volume limit removed, you get just a warning when you pull the volume beyond that limit. Anyways, I found useful to boost the whole equalizer spectrum to +6db on a custom profile to enhance the volume.

I tried that and it only turns the volume down, guess it's the volume limit on my stock phone.

I used to run Maclaws CM 11 but that is just too buggy, but i have come to understand that 10.2 is fairly stable so i will try that rom
Tried CM and Volume+. CM does NOT remove the volume limit and Volume+ just makes the sound quality into a muddy mess and not really louder. It seems like the battle is lost. ****ing EU rules and regulations...
Still +1ing V4A and PowerAmp

Hey,
I am starting this thread to ask people about their x8 headset. The problem is the mine is quite soft in volume and even when cranked up to maximum I can't hear voices that well. Is this a shared issue or am I the only one with this problem. Input would be greatly appreciated. If I do not thank you today it is because I have reached my 8 thank limit. Is there any app people can recommend to help with this problem maybe a volume booster. I will be offline for a few days to sort out some coursework but will check back afterward.
Thankyou.
No i have not that kind of problem with my handset.
U can go and check for it if it consistently faced
Officially corp via W8
I never find this problem.may be you you must check up your headset...or install audio tweaks likes beats audio, xloud, srs trumedia and enable dsp manager. btw what rom is it ?[COLOR="Silver"

As it says in my sig. I am on the MiniCM9. I have DSP but have never used it. All it has is equalizers. It is not quality I want but volume. Thanks anyway.
On CM9 you have to lower the volume to set it higher... Yeah, it's a littlebit weird, but it is like this. So try lowering the volume to half of the maximum!

Yep lower the volume 3 to four times from the maximum. Thats quite a known bug on CM9 and 10
If it still exist using 2.3 ROMS then might have problem with you headset acessories

Thankyou very much, both of you.
Edit: I have tried this and can confirm that you are correct.
Just landed here tired of the low volume of my Nexus 7. It sucks. With the original software one could install apps that increased the volume (Volume+ etc.). After updating to 4.2.1, these apps don't work anymore (Is Google caring about my hearing habits and becoming more like Apple?). The thing is that for the use I give to my, otherwise lovely, Nexus 7 I need a higher volume !!!
My question is does anyone know here if rooting the device and installing CM10 will allow the old apps (Volume +, Volume booster) to be effective again into boosting the volume of the device?
Thanks
Valentin

I got a lot of good suggestions in my weather app app post.
Let's hear your thought on Volume apps ... ones that work well with Lollipop ... have new material design.
Thanks for your input
Not sure what volume app means. For better sound viper4android is the bomb. Havnt had it work right yet for this phone but I've seen other who have.

I have used viper prior for the nice boost.
What I need is app for controlling All the Volume levels as built in sound controls always leave something to be desired.
I've always used AudioManager, it continues to serve me well on lollipop. I mostly use it for volume profiles.
I really want something for the volume via Bluetooth. it's really low I can't stand it anymore
I remember an app named volume+ that worked well to higher the volume of the phone but not sure if it still works. I hope they come up with a flashable zip to boost the volume. My headphone volume is really low.

Is there a way to boost the volume without Root?
Thanks for any help!
need that too!
First make sure your media volume limiter is off, then go to equalizer and push all frequencies to max, that should give you about 10 dB extra.
Can't promise that it will work but they're is an app called SpeakerBoost that I've installed
..... Seems to work

how do you do that
settings/sounds and vibration/sound quality and effects
actually just go to settings, click on search functions (circle with with line on the bottom, top right corner) and type media volume limiter, or whatever function you're looking for
I try it, but continue with low volume. My previous Note 2 had louder audio.
ok
Just a comment, my 950F does not have a media volume limiter option
Download "Speaker Booster" on the Play Store. Hope this helps
I tried pretty much everything but nothing really actually worked. If you use the SoundAlive profiles or boost the EQ it just limits the two top volume levels from working.
I have now rooted and manually changed the mixer_gains.xml file and it's amazing now. super loud with no distortion at all.
Sadly rooting is really the only way to go. Dunno why Samsung limit the volume so much when the DAC is capable of a far better volume output. It's the one thing that really lets this handset down.

Can you link me the mixer paths you used?
All you need to do is change the values in mixer_gains.xml as per the screenshot. Root only of course.
This is only for the wired headphone volume.
After trying about 5 models of headphones and being ridiculously low volume in all of them (especially in Spotify and YouTube videos), I found a expensive solution, but that has solved the problem withoutroot, i have bought the Jaybird X3, very good quality, very good volume and good insulation, despite being in ear.
I still think that with normal headphones, such as those that come in the box of AKG, Xiaomi Piston 2, Sony STH32, Sony SBH24 or even the great AudioTechnica M40X the volume is ridiculously low on this mobile.
Greetings.
It is ridiculously low, and has been on Samsung mobiles for a while now. Seems they need to protect us from ourselves. sad.
As stated above, root and a simple change to a text file makes one hell of a difference.
Another good solution is an external DAC like the Creative E3. It works well too and no need to root.
Hey, I'm with you all ; the volume of the note 8 is low. Now I tried every GD volume app on the play store and none work. I kept looking and I found one that works: Music Equalizer and Bass Booster by Coocent. This app no **** will increase volume. I swear.

Could you please advice if this would work if you use Bluetooth devices, such as speakers or headphones? I mean it is so annoying that samsung actually achieve year over year to have worst volume... just when you think it couldn't get worst.
I would appreciate if you can let me know!

I followed your tip, but in my 950F, exynos, this app in fact decreases the volume! It may only work with snapdragons

I use this...works great but don't boost over 30-33%!
I have the Snapdragon/Sprint so no root available. My question is if there anyway to boost the volume of the audio as it sounds rather low for what's supposed to be a good device. I come from the LG V20 and I know it doesn't compare but if anyone knows a way to get a higher volume please help.
I have different earbuds and they all sound rather low. Even the ones that the phone came with.

for music you have stored locally you can use poweramp music player. it allows you to adjust the gain.
for streaming music there isn't a very good option without root.
your LG device has a quad-DAC (typical of LG devices) and that's what made it louder. your samsung does not have this feature so it's not going to be as loud.
