The latest firmware update (July 2014) to Samsung Galaxy s5 has a horrible persistent notification in and above the notifcation bar.
When power saving mode is enabled and when restrict backround data is enabled in the power savings mode, they are both siting there unremovable. "Power savings mode enabled" and "Restricted bakground data".
It takes up half the notification panel and can not be removed.
its so ugly and stupid!
Please can someone make a mod to remove this
anyone?
Module requests belong here.
Having said that, GravityBox (and maybe other modules) can already hide persistent notifications. The module states it's for AOSP roms only, but a lot of features do work on unsupported devices. Give it a try, but don't report issues for your device in the module's thread as it's not supported.

I wanted to start a thread to give and gather information with the community on what works and doesn't with XPosed framework and Wanam XPosed. Please add any other information on what works and doesn't if you have been able to verify.
So far I've verified a few things work on the T-Mobile Note 4.
XPosed Torch
YouTube AdAway
XPosed Torch
In Wanam XPosed I have verified the following working for me.
Hide SFinder bar
Hid Battery icon
Change/Hide Carrier Label
Enable 4 way reboot menu
Screenshot / Power menu
Fake System Status
Themes (make sure you turn each on that you use)
Disable Secure Storage
Raise SMS and MMS limit
Wanam XPosed Setting that are not Working (that I've tried).
Lockscreen Flashlight
Home button long press
Disable SEAndroid
I have actually removed XTether and gone with Wifi Tether Router, as it seems to be working smoother.
Here a Link for Wifi Tether Router:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.snclab.wifitetherrouter&hl=en
A lot of the theme color changes work, though i can't seem to get the handle to change color when selected (the bar when you pull the notifications open).
The following ones not previously mentioned works for me:
AudioPrivacy
DisableBatteryFullAlert
Network Speed
NotifyClean
Wanam Lockscreen ==> "Turn on screen when unplugged" does not seem to work properly.
"Hide WiFi notification" is not working
I've been playing with the Theme colors this morning and found the little 'ON' button hiding at the top right. I am working out which panel/icon/text is what exactly as it's a little overwhelming trying to do it all at once. I recommend only changing one or two at a time and then rebooting to see how the changes work for you.
Hi. Thanks for this thread. I was wondering if you could modify your OP to include what modules are not working as well and encourage others to verify. This might be useful for checking.
Am using CM11 on a LG Optimus e970. Tried to use hangout and lost mobile network tube killed connection and erased apn settings.
Sent from my LG-E970 using XDA Free mobile app

I've been gathering some information on what is and isn't working. I will update the post once I get a few more things confirmed.
Now that we're seeing the first release of Xposed for Lollipop, one of the first mods I'd like to see is disabling Heads Up notifications and going back to putting them all in the tray. Anyone know if any modules will be implementing this functionality soon? It's one of the strongest reasons my N5 is still on Kitkat.
I hate it too. Stays on screen way too long and no way to dismiss it without dismissing the notification. I've read that the module "notification ticker on lollipop" disables heads up but its done nothing for me on my OnePlus running cm12.

Hoping to see a module specifically for this soon.
You shouldn't expect mods written for stock to have a predictable effect on CM12. That's ultimately a functionality that CM12 needs to implement for themselves.
Me too. I really hate it when whatsapp notifications appear while I'm watching my videos or playing my games.
the "notification ticker on lollipop" module doesn't work well from what I've experienced.. works partially
EDIT: it does work
the thing is the module inside the xposed framework is 1.0 which is not good
but here is the 1.1 version which works good but from some reason is not shown in the xposed framework itself.. so youl have to download it and install it manually by yourself
I hate it too, but it looks very nice.. and after few weeks with Lollipop I feel that heads up notifications will be the worst when it shows on a full screen app ( MX Player, YouTube, Game ) and blocks 1/4 to even 3/4 the screen !!
So I would rather have an options to
1- set auto hide time for the notification.
2- option to hide the notification all times or only in full screen apps, or hide for/in specific list of apps
But I guess this will be too much for a mod. to do.
I would like to see a mod where you can slide *up* the notification and it disappears into the tray without being dismissed.
The Xposed General is not the correct section for module related questions/requests. Please read the guidelines of this section, as well as the forum rules. You're looking for this thread for module requests.
Hy to every one!!
On my Galaxy S4, I'm using the Avast Battery saver to save battery life.
But when I switch on the battery saver and switch on my phone screen, I have always a Mobile Data warning popup
(see the picture below)
So, I have try to use Xposed to avoid it, but I didn't find any module witch can disable this popup warning.
I have find a lot of to disable the popup warning when the data are switched off but not switched on !
I have try the module "Remove Restrict Background Data Notification" by @Adam77Root , but it didn't work on my phone.
My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S4 (GT-I9508) and his Android version is 4.4.2
If any one have the same problem or if any one have find a module witch can disable this popup warning, please let me know!
Thanks !!

It did, but that module does something completely different. Try Wanam Xposed, it might have a corresponding setting.
Hy,
I have already install Wanam Xposed, but with it, I can only disable the warning message when I switch the mobile data off, but not when I switch the mobile data on.
I have look all the option proposed by Wanam, he propose only to disable the airplane toggle popup and the Bluetooth toggle popup.
No one have this kind of problem with the Avast Battery Saver APP?
It happen only with this application, when I turn on the data by the parameter menu, by the quick start menu or by the widget menu, this popup never appear...
Get tasker and go around it like at start up have it use data and time it for some minutes and have it go back to wifi
i ve the same probleme when i click on receive in app "share it". i can't receive date
[FOR REFERENCE ONLY]
Problem solved!
The confounding variable was NOT Xposed Framework, but conena's Gesture Control app that was set up to use Immersive Mode to hide the navigation bar. And according to this post that I landed on purely by chance, if you don't exempt the Lockscreen Settings app, it causes all these problems.
Note that this problem has nothing to do with the app, it's the Immersive Mode setting to blame, on which any setting change at all will cause these same problems (to be fair, conena's app does preemptively discourage this)
Solution
Use a Substratum overlay to hide the navbar instead; do NOT use GravityBox to do that by setting navbar height to 0, or qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 in build.prop (which doesn't work, BTW). Next, backup your gesture bar data and wipe the data of the app, then restore the bar data – just don't fiddle with that Immersive Mode setting again!
Well, some explanation is in order because it wouldn't make for a great thread title:
I am running the last stock Oreo build on this G8441, which is 47.1.A.12.20, for the primary reason of being able to use rovo89's Xposed Framework because the original XPrivacy module that's vitally important to me does not run on any of the EdXposeds or LSPoseds.
Using systemless Xposed with the latest Magisk version (and older ones too, nothing changes) I find that if I were to set a lockscreen to anything other than "None" and reboot, I will have times where I simply can't see the display when pressing the power button -- but weirdly enough the touchscreen still keeps taking touch input! The only way around is to remove the lockscreen, reboot, then set your locking method and try not to have it restart for any reason.
It's quite obvious that systemless Xposed is causing this problem (Xposed can't be installed normally on this firmware version) because this problem can be reproduced even without any modules active. But I'm at a complete loss as to what's actually causing this lockscreen interference, because I've tried taking system logs with and without Xposed and there's simply nothing at all different except it taking insanely long times for the display to activate upon unlock (but the touch input working just fine for some reason?) and there's a small, dim red LED near the proximity sensor that stays stuck as long as the display is.
Please help me, I'm absolutely out of ideas -- and no, I can't upgrade to Pie, I have to stay on Oreo for the sake of the XPrivacy module.
So it seems like 47.1.A.12.75 is the last problem-free Oreo version for normal Xposed Framework, and I wouldn't mind using that, if it weren't for the fact that there doesn't seem to be any VoLTE-activating SIN file for India for it below 47.1.A.12.270. There's a 2G phaseout in progress with the largest carrier and it's only a matter of time before there'll be no fallback network and I'll have to have VoLTE at any cost.
To take a screenshot on this phone, I must tap the square button on the bottom right. This gives me 2 options: Screenshot and Select. They are both always greyed out, and so clicking on either one does nothing. I don't even get an error message.
Interestingly, I have found a crappy work around. If I reboot the phone, the options are not greyed out, and they actually work, BUT for only like 5 to 10 minutes, then at some point, they are once again always greyed out. It doesn't matter what app or what I have on the screen, even just trying to take a screenshot of my Settings menu, for example, the two options are greyed out.
Any suggestions where to start to narrow this issue down? Obviously, something during startup is disabling it since it works for a few minutes.

Sounds like global power management may be causing it. Not sure what Pixel call it. A settings issue if so. You'll need to either disable it or set the app that's getting shutdown as an exclusion to this service.
Developer options> standby apps; if all bucket states are showing as active, power management isn't enabled. If you have apps showing various bucket states, it's running.
Perhaps a 3rd party app; try in safe mode to rule that out. Regardless track down the root cause otherwise even with a factory reset it's likely to reoccur.
