Here is a very simple instruction on rooting LG GT540 when Universal Androot doesn't work:
1. Download and extract the attached package.
2. Connect the phone in "USB Debbuging Mode"
3. Doubleclick "root.bat" (extracted from the package)
4. Wait for the console to shut down and the phone to reboot.
The credit for this method goes probably to people from Modaco.
Since this is my first post and i am still not allowed to post links from external servers i won't give any mirrors for unregistered users. Sorry.
Any confirmation that this works?
It sounds just too easy!
Bakuj, you can PM me with link to the modaco forum, I cant find topic with this root method!
Cheers!
Rooted yesturdamy with this, works fine
I rooted my phone yesterday using that method.
I ran each line of code separately though as i had issues running the .bat file
Thanks a lot
Froyo?
I have a TMO Optimus T w/ FROYO. Will this work on it?
You can give it a try. But first look at the name of this forum section. It is for GT540.
I have made a new version which includes both root and app2sd.Named 1 click autorootapp2sd .
You can access the guide at modaco . The file is attached.Turn on usb debugging mode and run autorootapp2sd.bat.
Nice and handy ^^ thanks
ROOT for recovery:
1. Grab this file mediafire.com/?rc8g496og3482dx
2. Update.zip copy directly to an SD card
3. Reset the phone and start the recovery mode
4. Select the option to apply sdcard: update.zip
5. Root been made
Application was added to the package:
root explorer, superuser and busybox
Thanks a lot arekl1988r
but how can i unroot it?
flash the original GT540 ROM with lg software?
Yeah it should work. Also you can try a factory reset (never tested).
Hi Rooting will void my warrenty??
Im trying to root my phone.
I have USB debugging mode on the phone, and i tried running root.bat both as an administrator and a user.
I get stuck here (see attachement)
What have i done wrong?
I can see: device not found, try Turn USB Debugging ON
It is on, i also rebooted the phone.
Ok, so try this way: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=803682
I found out that i cant even connect my phone to LG Pc suite.
USB storage works well, but Suite never finds the phone. I have installed all the drivers from LG.

Hi AEZ_BEST,
if i have understood well you actually have a stock rom (may be rooted) and htc_sync package installed on pc.
OK, trying this:
go there http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=950759 and download new version of 1-click root for tattoo (which occasionally you can use to easily root tattoo and install CWM recovery):
decompress dowloaded package into c:\rtatto folder
set tattoo to use ADB (android debug bridge) instead of mounting as a removable drive, it's possible but i not remember where the option is (sorry but two years and half that i not have stock rom installed ) and connect tattoo to pc [maybe it ask for ABD when you connect]
open cmd as administrator and issue these two commands
Code:
cd c:\rtatto
adb devices
it should reports you the list of attached devices
if your tattoo is in the list you can lately use adb to push the rom you wanna flash on sdcard.
Ops, i don't know if you have yet installed CWM recovery, if not look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27174485&postcount=129

HI!
I want to install the brand new stock ICS build by Stefan Gündhör using NVflash (coming from stock 2.3.4). I followed the linked instructions on modaco (can´t post links) and installed the APX-drivers but discovered that i can´t run the NVflash.exe when i tried to test it, because i´ve got win7 64-bit OS on my pc?
I searched and read lots of threads but couldn´t find an answer.. I know this is a noob questions but does someone know how to make it run properly?
Thank you

I am on Win7 x64 and everything worked like a charm.
Have you tried running "flashme.bat" in the folder?
Installation NVFlash version (under Windows): = Full wipe, and also wipes Internal SD (not External though)
download the ROM, unpack it with WinRar, 7Zip or similar to any folder you want
take battery out of phone, press VOL + AND VOL - simulataneously, and while doing this plug the phone via USB to your PC
screen of phone remains black, this is normal, but you should hear a sound that you plugged the device. Probably you have to install APX drivers at this point if you are asked.
assuming that you already installed APX drivers: run the "flashme.bat" file in the folder where you extracted the ROM
if your device is properly connected, a terminal window will be opened for some minutes, showing the Flashing progress
once flashing is done, the window closes or notifies you that it is finished. Wait 30 seconds and then unplug phone, put battery back in and boot your brand new ICS!
That's already it No complications to be feared. Enjoy!

btw if your APX drivers weren't installed properly - try going into "My computer > properties > device manager" and check if there is an "!" under APX device (or something) - if it is > manually install the drivers from your hard drive (and specified folder where you've extracted the apx drivers)

I found something interesting. When i used the OTG checker, i noticed that 3 system files are disabled(they don't have full permissions).
Here's what you have to do(if the FIX button doesn't work)
1.Use a root explorer (Xplore is needed)
2.Find the files with the X from the screenshot
3. Change the permissions and check all the boxes.
4.Reboot and done!
Someone test this and comment if it does or if it doesn't work.
I didn't tried ( i didn't root yet) but i hope it will work
(Tried on my s4 mini and it worked)

Hiya Fellas,
I was messing around with my development build last night and I was able to turn on USB host mode and successfully plug in and use a usb flash drive. Now keep in mind that this was on CM 13 but, this might also work on a rooted stock.
Using adb or terminal app.
1. Look for a path in /sys/devices that ends with hisi_usb (e.g /sys/devices/f4000000.hisi_usb)
2. Now inside that folder there should be a file called plugusb.
3. use this command
echo hoston > /sys/devices/f4000000.hisi_usb/plugusb
Replace "f4000000" with the real value.
Now plug in your device and see if it is recognized!
EDIT: You may need to be root to do this!
ADB: "adb root"
TERMINAL APP: "su"

WORK !!! THANK YOU !
- install from Playstore Universal Init.d
- Open Universal Init.d and activate support
- Create a generic text file Ex. usbotg in /etc/init.d folder with the following content
#!/system/bin/sh
echo hoston > /sys/devices/f4000000.hisi_usb/plugusb
!!!! Replace "f4000000" with the value found in your smartphone (my: ff100000) !!!!
- give to the file 755 permission
- reboot
I used Root Explorer to do all.
Enjoy !

ThankS!!!! It worked but, there are some troubles:
after using that command doesn't work the usb cable phone - PC (need reboot or to write "hostoff" instead of "hoston");
after rebbot need again to rewrite the command.
With universal Init.d it can be a little easy cause you can make 2 file ( 1 for hoston and 1 for hostoff) and just run them from app, so with 2 touch you can enable and disable otg instead of wirting everytime the command using terminal.
Edit: universal init.d doesn't work properly so I used a script runner and just run from it (with root permissions) 1 of 2 script (enable, disable).
Edit2: Look these images to see what I've done(don't need to reboot phone after):
Image 1: http://prnt.sc/ckk9hs
Image 2: http://prnt.sc/ckka26 (used this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.snclabs.scriptrunner&hl=it)
