Well I know that any time I go to Jamaica with my AT&T phone it snaps over to Digicel automatically. That's about it Same for my brother except he has the One X+. Don't know if it still applies.

From what I can see it looks like th eTILT will work with Verizon.
We used to live in Nashville and moved to Oak Ridge and Cingular/AT&T here SUCKS.
From what I can find Verizon works best around here.
I am wanting to keep my Tilt and use it with Verizon if at all possible.
Mine IS CID and SIM unlocked.
1. Will it work ?
2. Can I still access the internet and email as with AT&T?
3. What are the network settings for Verizons internet/email access ?
4. Is there a Verizon cab for the settings ?

No I am sorry to tell you but Verizon uses CDMA and AT&T uses GSM the only other major American carrier that uses GSM is TMobile you will need to unlock your phone then it will be able to use Tmobile simm cards.
Yeah, where did you see that it would work?
"From what I can see it looks like th eTILT will work with Verizon."
It was hinted here that it would work, but was not clear.
That is WHY I asked

Darn that realy sucks.
Hello,
I am going to be selling my N1 on ebay and I didn't want to misadvertise. I purchased my N1 off contract and used it on t-mobile. Does my phone support AT&T? And if someone on AT&T buys my phone will they get 3G service on it?
Thanks
The T-Mobile N1 can work on AT&T but only on Edge as they use a different 3G frequency not supported by the T-mobile hardware. There is a separate AT&T compatable model, but they are harder to come by.
So it would be silly for someone on att to get my phone?

It all depends on how they want to use it. If they are wanting to use it as a dev phone for apps / ROMs etc..., then 3G is not as critical. If they are wanting to use it as their daily driver, then they may want something else.
As long as you state in the description that this is not compatable with AT&T 3G, you should be covered. How the buyer uses the purchase is up to them.
majority of people would say its crazy to buy a tmobile nexus one for ATT use as there would be no 3g. so yes its almost like false advertising. sure, it would work on edge. but just be up front about it.
Ok. Thanks for the input
I'm gonna try em out for there 20 day grace period and was wondering if there's gonna need to be anything special that needs to be done to my phone to make it work with the T-Mobile cards. Also does anyone here have a captivate on tmobile in central FL or anywhere that could tell me how their service is compared to att. Att is slow for me here in Ocala. I'm hoping T-Mobile can help me out.

sim unlock your phone. there are numerous tutorials in these forums to do so
if you think ATT is slow, wait until you put in a TMobile sim card and all you can get is EDGE network.
^This. Most ATT phones will not get anything past edge on Tmobile. (Housemate is with Tmobile and tested with Inspire 4G, Infuse 4g and my captivate. I've find it amusing that I could use his Vibrant with 3g no prob xD.) Still don't understand why ATT uses their freq that way, makes me think its just for them to be spiteful.
so ur saying theres no way to use tmobiles '4g' network on my captivate or my gfs inspire? if this is in fact the case, i will be cancelling the order.

thats absolutely what we are saying.
you will not get 3g or 4G with an ATT phone on Tmobile
Something to do how ATT uses data Only on the 1800mhz band and Tmobile uses the 850? something like that.
As soon as I received my AT&T S5, I wasn't happy to know that our dear carrier AT&T has disabled Download Booster. Having said that, I am really convinced to return the phone and switch over to T-mobile. Luckily, my area is pretty covered so coverage is not so much of an issue.
However, reading around the forum and chatting with Samsung Rep. It was confirmed that only AT&T features carrier aggregation. Although LTE-A is only in Chicago as of the writing, there are plans to roll it out in my area (SF).
As I'm not sure how much of an impact will this do to my service or over-all experience. Which would you rather have or be more beneficial -- given you can only pick one.
1. Carrier Aggregation -- stick with AT&T
2. Download Booster -- switch to Tmobile

Man if you have the option, switch to Tmo. I'm not sure what would keep anyone from switching really. I would if I wasn't on a corporate plan. So I think a better question would be, what keeps you on AT&T?
I might switch in the end. I'm contemplating on either paying ETF and keeping my ATT phone which is cheaper option for me.
Thats why im figuring out which feature is more important to keep

You know Tmo will pay your ETF if you switch right?
Why not buy a T-Mobile S5, unlock it and use it on AT&T's network. Best of both worlds?
The question is will tmobile S5 do carrier aggregation.
Is that actually a phone feature or a network feature?

This thread in the general section tells how to check the phone for it. If someone with a T-mobile S5 can see if the menu is available and what it says we will know.

As someone who is currently contemplating switching to TMO, I can tell you its easier said than done. Yes, they are paying ETFs but I'm not trading my iPhone to them and getting ripped off. The coverage is good, but not great. My entire neighborhood is EDGE for some reason. I also worry when traveling, especially on interstates. Now if the entire country was going to benefit from Verizon's 700mhz spectrum, then I would definitely switch, but that's not the case.

You would probably need to be on the stock ROM to know for sure. It might also be tied to the radio / modem.

I have a T-Mobile S5 unlocked on AT&T. Here's my screen shot of the CA status with stock ROM.
Interesting...
having it disabled might mean there's a chance for it to be enabled.
For the ATT variant, I know there's a switch for the download booster using Nova launcher but it seems like its just a ui and not the actual switch.

Has there been any confirmation or otherwise on whether or not the Play Store version will be able to be activated on Verizon?
I know there's only one SKU and I know that the Nexus 5 was able to be activated on Sprint, T-Mobile, and AT&T so I'm inclined to believe the Play Store device can be activated on any of the major carriers.
i've got similar questions.
like you, i wonder if this 1 "US" model is essentially identical across the board. i wonder if the play store variant can be activated on either cdma or gsm. i also wonder if there's a difference in the play store N6 and the N6 on motorolas web store. i guess i'm really just wondering if all the bootloaders can be unlocked, no matter where you purchased your Nexus 6.
There's only 2 models one for American one for the rest of the world. I have some doubts that Verizon will activate one from the play store only because they might require the imei to already be in their system as in bought from them. But it's possible to have them add your imei after the fact. Or at least sprint was able to with the N5

My understanding is with Verizon, if you already have an activated nano-SIM, you can just put it in the Nexus 6 and it would work (if you set the APN details right). Can anyone confirm this?

This is my understanding
The problem with VZW is you can't just out your Sim into a phone that doesn't have its IMEI/MEID white listed in their system because of the CDMA part. I'm hoping that all of the IME/MEID of all the Nexus 6s will be added but we have no confirmation and VZW won't comment on the matter.
I hope they don't even have to add the imei it should just work.

It wont just work on the cdma side .... Just like sprint and the nexus 5 they will have to manually add the imei to thier system. But should be easy .It may stop people from upgrading and keeping unlimited data but that is another thing in itself

How can you be certain it won't?
Cdma doesnt work like gsm you can't just insert sim card and it work ... You could buy the n5 from Google and sprint had to manually add imei to system or you would not get 1x or 3g putting sim in only got you lte . should be the same again with both carriers now

But if you buy it from them it should work automatically? And is there any way for them to know if I get one from t mobile instead of Google and try to use it on their network?

It's not going to work and unless your phone has a nano sim in it right now ie a iPhone your going to have to call and get it activated on your account... Like i said the imei on sprint had to be added until then you would only get lte .... Without a activated nano sim you won't get anything

Okay, so I can cut it down and if that doesn't work get a new SIM. Can they tell the sim size based on the iccid number?

Straight talk
I was wondering if I will be able to use this on the Straight talk CDMA network. Seeing the Nexus 5 was not sold by Verizon that made sense, but since Verizon will have the Nexus 6 I am hoping I will be able to use this phone on Straight talk using CDMA network. I am currently on AT&T and am waiting for the N6 release to switch over to ST, but I really need to know if I can use this phone if I switch. Anyone have an idea or is it still to early to know something like this?

I don't think you'll be able to use the N6 on Straight Talk CDMA. I can't use my Verizon Moto X on it. Only a CDMA flip phone was accepted.
You'll be able to use it he N6 on Straight Talk GSM network.

Ya, that is what I figured, not the worst thing to stay with the GSM network but I would have preferred the CDMA. Thanks.

Giving up both my Verizon Unlimited lines to go with AT&T.

I was going to try and sale them on ebay. I was looking, doesn't look like they go for as much as they use to. I'm hoping to get enough to make it worth it. At least $200 per line. But maybe with the Nexus 6 the price will go back up.
