Hi,
I have an HTC One M7 with it's original Vodaphone ROM (UK, vodap102)
Everything was ok but about 2 days ago suddenly it lost it's cellular network.
from time to time it connects but looses it again the moment i try to enable mobile data.
I have tried to reboot, factory reset, tried different SIM cards (from same company) but nothing.
when i go to network operators sometimes it can't find anything but sometimes it finds all the networks around. when i try to connect to my network it tells me it "Your SIM card does not allow a connection to this network"
I had a firmware update as well (sense 6) but after the update was no change.
Is there anything else i can do?
P.S.
The phone is with unlocked bootloader, S-on and is being used in a different country, not in UK. as i said, it worked perfect for about a year in the same cellular network
Please asist, Thanks.
A little update...
If i choose 2G only, it works fine. but only in this mode.
any suggestions what might it be and how to solve it?

Hello,
i got a Big problem, since i updated my trinity to 20070327_WM5_AKU3.3.1_LVSW_v1.24_WWE, my phone provider is E-plus ( Germany) and i got two sim cards, one delivered with the trinity (umts) and another gsm card. But with both i can´t get a connection to my Phone provider.
I also tried to install a rom, which has worked in the past DOPODASIA_WWE_1.23.707.6_6275_1.35.00.11_108_Ship and
HTC_WWE_1.23.405.2_103_6275_1.38.00.11_108_GPS but no success.
Only with the original rom, it will find a signal, but only for few seconds and then it disapears again, or it keeps changing from G to 3G and back, when the UMTS card is inserted.
But the connection isn´t stable.
In the meantime i tried all roms which i got, but none of the are stable.
By the way, the GSM card works fine in my other mobile Phone.
So it´s defently no problem by my provider.
Try manually disabling the 3g and using only GSM.
Thanks, it seems that this solved my problem.
But i´m wondering, it worked before with UMTS, that means that i got
3G on Top, in the past and didn´t experienced any problems.
But now not even with the original Rom without GPS, i can get a connection using 3G.
But nevertheless with GSM it works fine, i appreciate!
Try getting a 3g connection on an another phone and with the same provider because it may be a network/provider issue and nothing to do with your phone.
my other phone is a sony-ericsson k750i, so it´s not UMTS capable.
But i can try to switch back to umts later, to see if this is a provider problem.
thanks and regards
Hello.
Having problems with my I8190N. About 2-3 days a go it suddenly lost ability to connect into internet. I can switch data connection on or off, it doesnt make any difference. I have tried to reflash various ROMs and it's all the same, no internet. I get the usual signal bars but no H/G/E marks.
It did not happen after flashing, had CM11 on it for days and I could connect Internet just fine. No carrier limitations either, I can make calls out and same SIM in my old phone can go to internet.
Should I flash the stock ROM/bootloader back and RMA it? Or is there something else I can do? (perhaps known issue and solvable on my own)
Phone is fairly new, bought it in August as brand new.
i suppose APN settings are correct?
you can try to flash another baseband to try with it, what is yours current baseband?
basebands you can find here for N version, XXAMJ ist newest and working for me...
I had the same problem a couple of days ago. It turns out that my problem was the simcard, have you tried to put another simcard in your phone and see if it works?
I have this problem, same with two phones and two SIM cards, both phones are ZTE, both problem SIM cards are on Vodafone, both phones have no problem connecting to data via t mobile sim? This leads me to believe that voda data does not work on zte phones, apn details are correct. Does anyone knowa fix?
finally sorted it........... f'd around with a few different apn's and even phoned up talktalk(same as vodafone network) who confirmed I had the right settings which I hadnt!
Found the correct settings on the geeksquad website. seems i didnt need to bother filling out some of the fields and then wham internet connection straight away!
Sent from my ZTE V967S using xda app-developers app
Hello everyone,
I have just recently unlocked my phone because I'm currently away for business in China. However, when i got here and got a new simcard with the local mobile stores my phone cant connect to the networks at all. my phone is rooted and i am quiet a beginner regarding cellphones and what not. any help at all is greatly appreciated
Go to Settings / Mobile / Preferred Network Type.. choose different settings? Maybe you are trying to connect to a frequency that is not offered in China... or click "Choose Network Operator"
yep i did that, theres a choice of three networks, all three for China, two is GSM and one is UTMS, i tried connecting to any of the three and was not successful. automatic select network was also not successful. I bought my phone with Wind
Try inserting that sim card in another phone.Couple months ago i just lost signal with my phone was busting hed for 2 hours try to fix it and eventualy i realized my sim card was dead.
thanks for that, i have my old wind simcard and that works fine I dont think its the simcard's fault because i can still choose to select a network without the simcard in my phone, which still doesnt work.. pretty frustrating.
I was reading something about a HTC phone having the same problem and they solved it using something called a superCID or something like that. Does that ring a bell for anyone?

So you bought phone from Wind, wind simcard works. You put another simcard and it doesn't work?
Your phone is locked to wind. So it won't accept any other simcard aside from wind simcard.
Hi
I am in Kolkata India and recently switched from a 2G to a 3G plan with Vodafone Kolkata. Ever since then, my problem is that I am unable to connect to 3G using WCDMA. Neither voice nor data works. If I revert to GSM only, then voice and 2G works fine. Wifi has been fine and my saviour at home.
Phone details: Sony Xperia SP C5302 running Android 4.3 build 12.1.A.1.205.
I have confirmed with network service that it is not a SIM card issue, by carrying out the foll. tests already
1- Signal strength in the area of use : At the time when I am unable to connect to 3G, my colleague sitting in the next desk and using a Motorola phone is consistently able to connect to the same 3G network from his phone. So the network strength must be fine.
2- SIM damaged or dirty - I have obtained a new SIM card as replacement, after this problem started, from my service provider yesterday. But the problem is not resolved.
3- Manual network search and connection - I have tried this many times, using WCDMA only or WCDMA(Preferred) options. In either case, only on rare occasions, the phone was able to connect to a network. However, 3G data connection (H+ icon) did not show and then the phone disconnects from network. On most occasions, when I manually attempt to connect to the 3G network, I get the message "Could not register to the selected network. Make sure SIM is inserted."
3- Trying different SIM/Handset - I have tried out both options of switching SIM and handset.
- My SIM on Motorola handset - connects to H+
- Another SIM on my Sony - momentarily connects, then disconnects and then does not connect to network.
Please let me know if anyone has faced similar issues and found any resolution. Thank you in advance.

I think that there's an option to use 2G instead of 3G in the settings menu, have you checked to see if that is enabled?

That is the WCDMA option I've mentioned about, there was no other setting for this.
Anyways, it turned out to be a hardware problem. Got the "mother-board" replaced for free as it was under warranty & now working fine!

Good to see that you've sorted out the problem!
I bought my Droid Turbo about two weeks ago to use it in Europe. I checked all freq and bands of my carrier and I also spoke with a guy who is using Droid Turbo in my country (Poland), all was ok. I got my phone and before inserting the sim card I updated to lollipop 5.1 OTA. After inserting my sim card the phone detected my sim and connected with network (LTE). I thought that everyting was ok untill I started using Droid Tubo in a daily basis. The phone is constantly switching networks. Its loosing lte signal switching to 3g for example, then to gsm. After a while its reconnecting but not always, sometimes I have to restart. I was trying almost everything: wiping from recovery, wiping via fastboot, switiching network connections by hidden menu commands, changing apn settings... I noticed that my problem seams to be similar to the problem which was solved by 21.44.8 update which: "Fixes an issue that could prevent proper switching from 3G to 4G LTE. Fixes issues that could trigger a dropped call, prevent a call from going through, show that no service is available or show that a SIM card is not inserted" - this is quote from motorola update release note. This quote very well describes my problem. After doing almost everything what I could I decided to ask for your help, because Im starting to think that this is a hardware issue. I am looking forward for your help and will be very gratefull for any suggestions.

Hello, I have almost the same problem. I recently bought DROID TURBO and i was using it w/o any problem for about a month. and Poland is also my country I did everything like you including update to lollipop before inserting SIM card. Everything with the phone was ok until i tried to change cellular bands in menu to see if it will affect battery life in some way.
Unfortunately my Droid Turbo is now refusing to connect to any network. To be exact: it is logging to my network ( i have checked it on the service hotline of my carrier ) but then after about 3-5 sec. signal bars are greyed and no connection to the network. I've tried three different cards from different carriers and with all a have the same result. Now i cannot use my Droid Turbo as a phone ....... i've tried factory reset, cache cleaning, disabling Verizon apps&services .... nothing... Could someone help me/us, do you have any suggestions ?

Hello again.
The only way i've solved this network problem on non-rooted Lillipop is to install new firmware using Verizon Software Upgrade Assistant for Droid Turbo. You have to run this software and use the rapair button then it downloads new firmware and installs it on your phone.
i have same problem.
just flash last firmware with fastboot
