Hey Guys,
Very new at this so please be patient with me. I was just wondering if there is a way to unlock the locked bootloader on my AT&T Samsung S5?
I'm trying my best to get my Galaxy S5 to work with my Pioneer AppRadio 2 w/ ARLiberator and it seems that the Knox and locked bootloader is causing the issue. I think that SuperSU has the knox handled but not for sure. Any Help would be Great
Thank you

The bootloader is locked on the s5 phone. No offense meant by this but if you Googled the "AT&T s5 and bootloader" you would have gotten your answer much sooner.

If it is a G900A, Do some research about your device, find out that the AT&T branded GS5 cannot run Cyanogenmod and then go buy a T Mobile branded phone so that you can.

thanks. slightly helpful, fairly rude, but concise.
Hello so I just got a at&t galaxy s5 that has been updated to lollipop with the G900AUCU4BOF3 bootloader and am wondering if it is any way possible to root it. I honestly don't care about tripping knox because it is already out of warranty and is used anyway. I have read some places and searched on here to see if I could find an answer but I haven't found anything about my circumstances... Any help would be greatly appreciated.
First off wrong section, second off to answer your question, no you cannot root since you are on lollipop already(needed to be rooted on KitKat).

Hey Everyone,
Just lost my S4 to the road (ride a motorcycle and phone fell out of the holder) and just got this S5 SM-G900A from AT&T to replace it. The new phone is fantastic - a dream, but from all the research I have done here and elsewhere, I am not really clear on whether I can downgrade to Lollipop 5.0 or any version of KitKat.
The problem here is that I have a very expensive set of earbuds and the best sound I can get out of them is by using the S4 with viper4android installed. However, viper4android requires the phone to be rooted and from what I can tell, it cannot be rooted with Lollipop 5.1.1.
So...can I downgrade to a lower version of android? The few pieces of info I have found has been related to people bricking their phone trying this. Is it because they did it wrong, or is it true that 5.1.1 has prevented the ability to downgrade.
Whatever info you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
Incidentally, I have tried towelroot and kingroot but to no avail.
Any insight into the matter would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks -
Rick

Thank you for the reply. At least I know now.
I purchased my friends S5 which was from AT&T and then I used the BYOP plan with Straight Talk. How do I root this? I tried Towelroot and it says its not supported. Also what ROMs can I get with this if any? I want to root to get rid of all the at&t pre installed apps on here that I cant use with Straight talk. Also pretty new to this. I have Odin on my laptop from installing stock firmware on my S3. Any help with root and ROMs would be much appreciated.
Good morning bump
Need model and ROM version.

Yep, that's how things that apply to all of a phone model work.

I imagine you are on the latest Nougat since we can't stop the upgrade/update... Rooting was only available on older versions like 5.1.1 Lollipop.

The S4. I figure it's a better device to start with than bricking my S6 Edge. Lol. I can't free up the bootloader on the S4 though I got it rooted but bootloader isnt unlocked
Verizon locks the bootloader on their phones
