[Q] Help: Lost floating call functionality - Verizon LG G2

Can somebody please help me get it back? It's a little window that appears on the screen when I'm on a call.
Thanks,
M.

Is this this option?
Open the dialer, settings, Incoming voice call pop-up.

Thanks! That's for incoming calls and I have that option checked already. What I meant was a little green window (or simply a bar) floating on the screen when you're on a call and the dial window is in the background (you're doing something else). It allows you to tap on that window to get back to the dial window. Not sure if I explain it correctly.

Disabling the notifications bubble?

Can the notification bubble be disabled?
Its absurd that in the sounds and notifications, I uncheck all notifications from all events and still get the "Dismiss" button for a notification of a missed call or voicemail or email or mms.
I really dont need to see new email counter increment, plus notification/dismiss bubble at the bottom of the screen and finally the envelope icon at the top. Im not that dense.

You need to uncheck "show message on screen" from the connection established event under sounds and notifications.
no that just dosnt allow the message to pop up on the notification. i dont believe there is anyway to disable the icon that pops up in the top.
but what you can do is disable the message that pops up

The instructions I posted prevent the notification bubble from popping up, which is exactly what the OP was trying to accomplish.
no i think he means the icon that pops up on the top not the message that comes up when ever something happend...
at least thats what i think he means...
Which one
I dont mind the envelope on top, what I do mind is when I have the keypad locked and it take 4-10 button presses to get the normal soft key navigation back.
Example:
Missed call, new email, new mms, new voicemail. Each has a seperate "notification" that has to be viewed and dismissed in 2 keystrokes.
So for example, on a missed call only:
1) Turn display back on
2) Unlock (left softkey)
3) Unlock touch right mid screen (or *)
4) click softkey notification (left softkey)
5) click dismiss softkey (right softkey)
As you can see, it takes 5 buttons to get my left softkey back to normal and get rid of the notification bubble. The handset icon with the ! on it is sufficient to indicate the missed call.
Now, how about a missed call, which of course causes a new voicemail:
1) Turn display back on
2) Unlock (left softkey)
3) Unlock touch right mid screen (or *)
4) click softkey notification (left softkey)
5) click dismiss softkey (right softkey)
6) click softkey new message
7) click softkey dismiss
Now add new voicemail, missed call, new email, new text message and you can see it takes a ton of annoying keypresses to get rid of the bubble notifications and return the softkeys to normal where I expect them to be whenever I need to use my phone.
I have everything unchecked in the sound/notify section so that doesnt help.
If I dont use Today but instead, a Today replacement, does that go away?
Thanks
take a look at this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1843894
goto HKCU\control panel\notifications\
and change whatever you want to not show up to 0 or 1 in the options. What i do is set everything to 0 and i used to have a 1 ring lag due to that stupid bubble but as a disclaimer i use S2U2 to Handel the phone calls and phone alarm to Handel notifications so i am able to turn all this stuff off and still have the notifications i ask for.
No Luck on that thread
No luck on that thread. I still get the missed call changing the softkey to Notification and then a bubble, then dismiss.
I tried setting all the "Options" in each key under notifications to zero. So far, I think they all went away except missed call.
I have also been looking for a solution to disable the left soft-key notification / notification bubble. It seems that anyone who receives a lot of calls, voicemail and e-mail on there phone would find this "feature" annoying. I've tried various phone alarm type applications and not had any luck.
You're idea of replacing the today screen sounds like a good idea.
...but so far I just have to disable all on-screen notifications in notification settings and then press the left-soft key over and over again to dismiss all those stupid notifications.

Absolutely! I also can not understand why it seems impossible to get rid of this "feature". Specialy since HTC Home Plugin (and lot of other today plugins) make this notifications absolutely unnecessary.

No Quick Response Option for Incoming calls

After the upgrade to Lollipop 5.0, I do not have the option of sending a text "quick response" when I receive a call. Only options are to accept or decline call. Any one else experiencing this problem? I am using Messenger for texts.
When you get the drop down notification while doing something on the phone, the option is gone. When you get a call when the screen is off, it's still there.
Just added some pics
No option for quick response when call received and screen is off. I've spent hours with both Verizon and Moto and they can't figure it out except to do a factory reset which I'm not going to do.
When you're in the phone app, tap on the three vertical dots by the mic, then settings, then general settings.... Is there an option for quick responses?
Yes, there is a heading for "quick responses" and I've edited them to my liking. It's just that the ability to send a quick response when a call is received is not available. As I have indicated neither Verizon nor Motorola can solve the problem. In both instances the "took control" of my phone and could exactly what was happening when a call was received. Sigh, I can live without this feature and hopefully will be fixed in the next Lollipop update.
I'm out of ideas, other than the one you don't want to do.... Hmm, did you try clearing data on the phone app?
Thanks for your interest and help.
If you tap on the contact icon in the pop up it takes you to full screen where the quick response is available. Essentially one extra tap

That is very good to know.
But
I think the OP is saying that he has tried all this and the option is just missing. Like when you or I tap on the answer circle and we see the quick message icon above the answer/hang up icons, his is not there.
Oops, missed that. Sorry. Thanks for clarifying
Yes, you are right. Shame on me. I now realize that you can tap on the icon of the caller and then leave a quick message. Thanks.

[Q] How to I get back to this Voicemail Screen?

Attached you will find the images "Screen I want" and "Missed Call Screen", these will be referenced in my question.
See: "Screen I want" attachment.
There are two way I know how to get to this screen and both of them aren't very useful. The first way I know of is to get a voice-mail. If this happens a notification will appear in the tray saying "X Voice-mails" and clicking on said notification will bring me to that screen. Note this only works when the notification is there and thus can not be used to check an old voice-mail or a notification I excused on accident.
The second way is to have a missed call. When I have a missed call selecting THAT notification brings me to the "Missed Call Screen". On this screen I do not have the ability to listen to voice-mail but if I click the Option Dots in the top right corner and hit view contact, then hit the arrow in the top left corner (of the contact screen) to go back I not to the missed calls screen but to the ideal voice-mail screen.
Phone: Samsung Glaxay S5
Interface: Lolipop
Updated: Fully
Launcher: Google Launcher
Voicemail Provider: Googlevoice
Service Provider: ATnT
I will gladly provide any more information if requested. Please help me .
To be clear; I am looking for a way to get to this screen, to check my voice-mail, at any time instead of only when a notification is present. Thank you.
Not sure if there is a way to mark this solved but I solved this:
Contact -> Logs -> Click on person with voice-mail.

Another novel way to do this is to find the icon on your system that looks like an old-time telephone handset. Tap that, and the phone application should load. At the top, there should be an icon labeled Keypad. Click on that. You should get a numeric keypad. Hold down the 1 key, it will dial your voice mail number.

While it is true this will call the voicemail it does not work on my phone. My visual voicemail (seen in the picture) downloads the voicemail from my server so calling the server (via the voicemail button, or holding 1, or dialing myself, ect) always results in it telling me there are zero voicemails. The ONLY way for me to check voicemail is that screen.
........... if your using Google Voice do you have the GV app installed ? .............

V40 ThinQ disable green pop-up bubble during active phone calls

I've been digging around trying to find an answer, and I think the only one I found was https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/help/disable-floating-popup-call-t3142001 which essentially says you need root / can't disable it.
When making a phone call (not an incoming call, but during an active call), if you switch to a different app/screen, a green floating pop-up bar appears. You can drag this bar all over the screen, but I really couldn't care less about it. It's not useful to me as the only status it shows is the call duration. If it at least showed my microphone/speaker status, it'd be useful. But I really couldn't care less how long I've been on a call.
Is there any way to disable or otherwise configure this feature? I can't even figure out what it's called.

Go into the default dialer app and select the Dial tab. Click on the 3 dot menu in the upper right and select Call Settings then select Additional Settings. There is an option called "Show voice calls while in an app". Select that and you have the option to change from a pop-up.

That's only for incoming calls. He's talking about the in-call timer floating button. Never have been able to disable it since G2. It sucks and is annoying af.

Yes, this is exactly it. Stinks that there's no way to disable it. It's almost entirely useless.

Question Calls falling to notifications

I have a problem with calls. When I receive a call, I slide down to accept it and it immediately goes to the home screen. I can see the call icon in the notifications bar, and it is listed as a sticky notification, but in order to find it I need to scroll through all the unread notifications to find it. Sometimes I cant find it and have to clear the notifications in order for that to be the only notification in the list.
Another problem I have when I make calls (maybe the same problem) is that if the phone goes to the home screen for some reason (intentional or not), if I select the notification to go back to the call or if I select the call app via the recent apps button, it goes to the calls app as if I were to make a new call. I then need to click on a tab inside that app to get to the actual call.
Have you noticed these issues? I am running the stock OS.
