Djrbliss strikes again with a new Motorola exploit and it works on the Atrix HD as well. A much easier one than booting up Linux IMO.

Go into root explorer / system/ app / blurupdater.apk and freeze, or delete it.
I THINK that would do it.

Linux method work's fine! I promise, you just got to follow instructions very, very close, step by step letter by letter. like setting up share.its GROUP.. not group. and ip address will work 10.0.x.x.x.
But great job guys! I really hope you get rooted now!

I just tried going back to stock via flashing sbf and root using motochopper. It works 100% and all I did is just pressing one click button.
It's even easier than rooting on ICS.

I ALWAYS get mad when someone says that on Piratebay or other torrent sharing sites there is just pirated apps/programs in general. You can find everything on PirateBay, not just protected programs. Just for example, I ALWAYS use torrent for work, to share some projects with every people I work with.

I know you weren't saying that. You don't have to be sorry, you said your opinion! You are right, alternative markets are the best (some times) I was just saying that a lot of people say that torrent is for piracy, but actually it's not. No offence from my part
Apks are normally little in size. You only would need 1 seeder. Chances are they are pirated apos

I have checked unknown sources. I'm trying to download a song from tubidy.mobi for example. On my S3 I had after you selected the song it gave you an option to play or save using an installer. With this phone it doesn't. It gets to a point that after you "downloaded" the a file and it asks if you want to install, it doesn't allow you to. No error msg, no warning etc. It just doesn't do anything. Have you never had this problem on your LG? I bought the phone brand new from the UK, I live in South Africa, upgraded to kit kit 4.4.2.
Not familiar with tubidy, but let me get this straight:you are trying to install music files you download? Those don't require install
Could be extra Junkware it wants you to install
---------- Post added at 11:03 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:03 PM ----------
If file is downloaded to your phone, just open it with any music player
You should never have to install music files... Maybe try changing the file extension to .mp3 with a file explorer if it's named something different?
Ok guys, I know i left y'all hanging with my other thread with the custom launcher...BUT!! this one is fully working with native Ouya launcher.
You can log in, buy games, re-download games you may have bought on your ouya already and so on. its your ouya now in your hands
All files provided have been release in some form already so i hope i dont get banned for them...
Most are from different SDKs. I just found the right mix and how to make them run by directly inserting them to System.
All files MUST be transferred directly to the System/App folder of the shield, you CAN NOT install them as User Apps then move them to System/App. it will not work this way!!
Download Link http://www.mediafire.com/download/g8hdkw2xr92z9pa/Ouya_files.zip
1). Extract zip to a location on your shield.
2). Use ES File Explorer to manually move the files to System/App
3). Reboot your Shield.
4). Select OUYA Launcher form Home Screen selection.
5). Create/Log in to an account.
6). Enjoy this little mod!!!
I strongly recommend having Xposed Installer and App Settings installed on your device.
Set the OUYA Launcher DPI to 200 - 230 to fit the Shields screen correctly.
I can't seem to get this working. I transfer the files to system/app then reboot but after my shield reboots I'm not getting any options to use the launcher

Try installing the launcher apk as a user app also. (having both one as system and one as user)
or go into your apps and manually start it and or OBBE.

I didn't change permissions on mine though, just injected the apks, rebooted and it launched into the ouya launcher when I selected it. But I did clear cache and dalvik in recovery before rebooting. Which lead to the "Android Apps Are Upgrading" screen.
Also go to settings and manually set up an Ouya account in accounts before starting the launcher. See if that helps.

question time!
i know amazing frog extracted from the ouya works on shield, but with the ouya mod, do games that I extracted before(dub wars, the ball, and others) work?, or is this problem because of the developers coding to the ouyas Bluetooth module?
---------- Post added at 10:48 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:47 PM ----------
also tried connecting the ouya controller to shield to see if it would work with the extracted ouya games, but it doesn't, its the same as playing gta3 or vice city with the controller, its all wonky, and doesn't work properly, try it for yourself and you will see!
the shield is becoming more and more dead in the forums
first of all this zimage hasn't been test!!!
i made this kernel with little knowledge following couple of tutorials and thanks to OhHeyItsLou !!
remember if you gonna try this kernel remember it has not been tested and til i figure it out it probably wont be tested for knob ppl.
If you are going to try it and or you are a DEV "which i think you might know how to work this out" "flashing" please be free to do.
once again i wont leave instructions on how to flash it because i havent figure out yet how to do it!!
THATS WHY I RATHER SEE A DEV USING THIS OR HELP ME WITH FLASHING THIS ON MY OWN DEVICE
Be free to contact me on any questions
flash it at you own risk ! Which we all know while flashing anything can go wrong!
unzip file and you would get the zImage.

It won't flash in custom recovery because it's missing the "meta-inf" folder with the update-binary, etc. I'll try and write one tonight when I get home from work. Which will be around midnight central time.
I've got a meta-inf folder made and I've 're zipped it. Is this based on aosp or stock. Do I need to flash with my stock Rom or try with cm11
This die? Far as i can tell we need a kernel dev?
I downloaded zlmage_bumped.zip listed in first post and flashed it using flashify apk downloaded from Google play. Seems to have successfully flashed! My device is T-Mobile D959 running kit Kat 4.4.2 D95920h.
