Hello fellow XDA members,
I have noticed a little something that's strange on my Moto X- 1052 - Non-rooted running 4.4.2 and would like to know if anyone else faces the same problem .
While playing music using an app like Poweramp/Player Pro on the external speaker, I found that if the volume was turned up to the max limit , then over a period of a few seconds, the speaker would crackle and the volume would automatically decrease . However, if the volume was then turned down by two steps and set back to max, it would go back to being loud (only for a few more seconds) .
Contacting customer care, they said that I would need to do a factory reset or visit an authorized service center to solve the issue. So, bada bing , one factory reset done and everything worked as it should UNTIL I reinstalled poweramp.
Now, the odd thing was that as long as Poweramp was installed , even other apps such as MX player and Youtube suffered the same sudden volume decrease . I've tried changing the audio focus, audio priority and the Direct volume control , but none of the options worked .
Now, I've uninstalled the app but PURELY as a curious soul, I'd like to know why a 3rd part app would affect the audio settings of another app ??
[TLDR ? ] - Using Poweramp and PlayerPro caused speaker distortion crackling and volume decrease even in default settings and this pervaded into every other audio app . Can you please help me understand why ?

Well the other day I noticed that while listening to music and going to the camcoder the volume significantly increases. Any one else notice?? If so plz post
Yeahh it also happens to me when I back out of certain games. The volume on the media player will only play at 25% even at the max. Solutions . Soft reset(turn phone off and on) or use media volumes settings which is an app that lets u adjust the volume back to normal. I think they wil fix it eventually in a nodo update.

I noticed the same thing quite a while ago but for me it was because I have the HTC Sound Enhancer app and had the settings different for music and video.

Hi. I have a big problem.its hard to explain what i did so ill make a chronology:
-My phone was fine,i was happily using cm7 and my ace had no problems at all.
-i love changing roms once a week and i usually tried new roms.
-one day,i noticed my INCALL VOLUME was very LOW.
-My external speaker audio worked very well.
-I decided to try VOLUME +,it didnt seem to work but i left it installed at +4.
-some days after,i started SUDDENLY to hear a buzz from external speaker everytime a sound was played. It feels BOOSTED because the audio quality is still good.
Since then nothing managed to solve this problem. I flashed lots of roms, i uninstalled volume+ and put the settings to 0 again but nothing.
Today i unrooted and flashed stock xwktq with odin but the problem still there. Then i found the secret code (*#*%197328640#*#*) but...in the menu, when i thought i was about to solve the problem..
AUDIO IS LOCKED. Only that setting. I tried another stock, xwkt7 , now it says [5]AUDIO in the secret menu but if i tap there nothing appens.
Then i rooted again, pushed a deodexed servicemenu.apk, flashed sgsii jb but nope, I CANT ENTER IN AUDIO SETTINGS FROM SERVICE MENU. Please help me,i wanted to try this solution before taking my phone to samsung support,i need it hope it is a clear explanation!

UP..really no solution?
Volume+ is an Advance app.... It possess the capability to Distort any Speaker or Headphones foe a short time or Prolonged use or high Frequency may cause the distortion to stay forever... In short your Speaker might be permanently Damaged...
Hi everyone, I have some speaker issues in my n6. The front dual speakers are fantastic and hands down the best I have ever used in any smartphone, but whenever my phone's battery level drops below 70%, the speaker volume automatically decreases, without me having to manually lower don the volume.
Whenever this thing happens with me , I immediately check the volume panel and there it says that its already max. Then when the phone's battery level drop to around 30%, the speaker volume decreases significantly as if I am listening to at half the volume and the volume panel still shows the volume to be at the max.
At first I thought, it must be a hardware issue, but that wasn't the case. when i watch videos on MX player, this problem doesn't seem to occur at all even if the battery is less than 10%. This problem only occurs whenever I use a music player. Earlier I used google play music, then I changed to sony walkman and I have also tried various other music players from the playstore as well but the problem always persists.
I even changed my roms for months , but still no luck.
My question to you guys is, does it happen with anyone else? How can I fix this issue if its not common?
Your help will be appreciated

Hello All,
I have an issue with Nexus 6 after the recent update of 6.0.1. Through eaphones the sound is very low and it is plain. No bass, could not hear clearly. Maximized the sound and cannot hear properly.
I have tried logging in safe mode and nothing worked. I have also updated the music apps/video apps to the latest version, still no luck.
Music and Video apps which used are as follows:
1. Google Play Music
2. Blackplayer
3. MX Player
4. VLC
5. Youtube
Seems no dust inside the audio jack, still it isn't working. Also, I am sure that I did not drop my phone down.
Could someone help me out with this issue? Has anyone had a similar experience?
Regards,
Try going back to 6..0.0
If its really software related, it will be good to know.
I just got a new Bluetooth headset and noticed turning on the equalizer in play music lowered the volume and sliding the bass higher resulted in even more of a muted sound. It sounds a lot better with the equalizer off. Just a thought in case you have it enabled.

I didnt notice a difference with my earphones however it had low sound with my headphones before 6.0.1 and with 6.0.1.
RE:
Thanks you all for your valuable responses.
seems there is no issue with the Android Version. Many of them stated, it works with latest android version.
I suspect its a hardware issue. I have tried a factory reset, Hard Reset also cleared cache data but no luck. I did not go for flashing the latest OS.
Submitted the device to the authorized Moto Service station, awaiting reply from them. They said there are chances, there could be an issue with the audio jack.
Any suggestions ?
Hi,
I have suddenly experienced low volume while using the stock headphones that came with my phone. Weird thing is when I turn on the voice chat feature on a game that I play, the volume goes back to normal and when I turn it off the volume is low again. I tried another stock headphone (same model) and the issue is not present.
I don't believe that the headphone's hardware is the problem since the issue is not present when activating voice chat on games. There could be a configuration or setting that I need to configure.
Thanks in advance for your help and suggestions.
