When moving apps to SD card, you will loose the shortcut on your home screen.

I've been working on my own winphone7 type theme (using LauncherPro Plus and Desktop Visualizer), and I'm hoping maybe someone on this forum could help me out with it.
My question is whether or not Desktop Visualizer can create shortcuts to navigate through homescreens on a press.
I know it can be done in LPP with the dockbar icons using a LauncherPro Shortcut, but I have those assigned to primary functions already and I don't want to essentially not have a dockbar.
I cant post my screens yet (I am a terrible, awful lurker) but essentially the bottom row of each of my homescreens has a LEFT and RIGHT icon I was hoping to assign functions to, right now they have no action tied to them and just serve as an open space to swipe without accidentally launching anything.
You cannot assign the shortcuts using DV.
I'm looking for a widget that can display the files from a folder (mnt/sdcard/Documents) in my case. I just purchased a silicone flexible keyboard to bring around with my tablet and want a quick way to access my notes from the homescreen. I tried creating a shortcut to the files or folders themselves, but this is not supported by default. Any suggestions?
can anybody help me with a guide etc. im trying to create an icon pack for desktop visuliser i have searched a fair bit but still nothing, im currently applying icons by selecting image from the menu, is there any way of creating an icon set so that it shows up in the menu "icon pack" from within desktop vis, also is there a way of putting the packs on the market place?
The only icon packs available are from the developer of the app. If I were you, I'd contact the dev about either finding a work around or maybe send the dev the icons to see if they'd like to package them up for release.
The way you're doing it now is the way it's supposed to be done. I use Desktop Visualizer for different sizing options, but I use Folder Organizer far more. In Folder Organizer (the paid version) you can assign each app its own icon, and then place it on your homescreen as a widget or shortcut.
I made these for myself then thought I would share, these are just image files sized 72x72, I used Desktop Visualizer (from market) to create the shortcuts using these images as the icon. I am using Launcher Pro and used a custom dock image for it. just place them in a folder on your sd card, open Desktop Visualizer and "select icon" then choose "image file", then browse to the folder you saved these in and select.
This does not change any system images/icons and this is not a theme..These are just to make shortcuts on your home screen with custom icons using Desktop Visualizer (from market).
root is NOT required to do this the way described.
