[Q] Rooting I9305T with Clockwork Mod - Galaxy S III I9305 (4G LTE + 2GB RAM) Q&A, Help &

Hi all,
I recently installed CWM Recovery and Cyanogenmod 11 on my I9305T in order to improve my battery life after the most recent stock rom update. Is there a way to root my phone using CWM and/or heimdall? I've tried installing Root_SuperSU.1.02-Busybox.1.21.0 in Recovery, the installation succeeds, but superSU informs me that there's no SU binary installed afterwards.
Cheers.

Download SuperSU from anywere but not playstore. Install .zip file in recovery. Wipe dalvik and cache.
I hope that will help you.

You have to reinstall the latest SuperSU app, the one you have installed now is probably an older version.

Status 7 error while installing omni 4.4

tried even updating updater script by removing permission command and assserts but it is not working and gets aborted raising "status 7" error.
Also, I have rooted my phone very first time. please help /suggest
install a 10.2 kernel like Raw-r4 and then boot into recovery again and flash the rom. You will need to reboot into recovery after installing the new kernel for the new recovery to take effect.
Worked!

[Q] Updating Superuser binary in twrp

Hey all,
I am getting a notification that the superuser binary is out of date and needs to be updated. I recently switched to TWRP from Clockworkmod Recovery because it is needed for ARHD 4.4 update. When doing this before under CWM, I used to just boot into recovery and it found the install and away I went, but TWRP just boots to install and I have no idea where the install is.
Anyone got any ideas on this or should I just get the new install from koush's site and install it via recovery?
Thanks

[Q] Installing custom ROM e.g, CARBON, CyanogenMOD, OmniROM, etc in GT-N7000

Last 3-4 days I had been searching all over the net but couldn't make a solution. My GT-N7000 phone is running on stock ROM N7000ODDLSC_N7000DDLS6_INU (4.1.2). I want to install any custom rom like CARBON, CyanogenMOD, OmniROM, etc. So I followed following steps:
1. Rooted my phone with "Root_SuperSU.0.98-Busybox.1.20.2-signed.zip" from stock recovery.
2. Then faced a lot of difficulty in installing a custom recovery (CWM). (I went through ROM Manager....failed, downloaded recovery zip and img file both and tried to install through recovery and/or adb update....all failed
3. Later on I got a custom CWM recovery (temporary) "recovery-clockwork-4.0.1.5-galaxys2 (Temp).zip" and tried the folowing steps:
a. Wipping cashe partition, delvic cache, facory reset for installing new ROM
b. Installing zip from sdcard>select: "omni-4.4.2-20140313-n7000-NIGHTLY.zip"............then its giving status 7 error
4. Also I tried with CWM touch recovery but also same kind of error.
.................can anyone provide me any kind of solution????
Perhaps you need a newer clockwork mod version...

I can.
From stock recovery, install any of these kernels.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1901191
Then reboot the phone back into the new recovery. and install this.
http://goo.im/devs/chasmodo/Asylum-Omni/n7000/kernel/raw_kernel_r4_j43.zip
Reboot into recovery again, and now install rom.
Keep in mind that the recovery of the galaxy note is build into the kernel.
installing 4.4 roms
try philz recovery its clean and easy

I can't install any recovery from my stock recovery. It shows E:/Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip (Status 7). Again the cwm recoveries that are in *.img format requires my phone (GT-N7000) to start in fastboot mode. I don't know how to do that. Again I tried to install recovery from ROM Manager. The latest recovery is "ClockworkMod 6.0.4.3". But when i reboot into recovery....it wont start...after trying for sometime, shut down automatically.

So you didn't do what i said.
Go do it again.
Thankyou Azeazezar I could do it following your directed guide. I installed Omnirom Nightlies.
But now problem is, It's not rooted anymore. So i tried to root from the recovery again with "Root_SuperSU.0.98-Busybox.1.20.2-signed.zip" package. But now the SuperSU app does not start. It says:
"There is no SU binary installed, and SuperSU cannot install it. This is a problem!
If you just upgraded to android 4.3, you need to manually re-root - Consult the relevent forum for your device!"

Clockworkmod Recovery Galaxy s3 problems

Well guys this is my first time on the forums. My phone is rendered near useless right now. A few days ago, i rooted my phone via towelroot. as a friend reccomended, i installed ROM manager and flashed clockworkmod recovery. I backed up my stock, perfect ROM with CWM and decided to try installing cyanogenmod 10.3.1......... it wouldn't install. I even tried other apps like ROM installer. Then i came across the handy dandy Cyanogenmod Installer. This seemed great, i didn't have to do anything except click a few buttons on my PC. as i was ready to enjoy a new custom ROM, the following message popped up, "Root access possibly lost. Fix?". I was given the options of "No" and "Yes - Fix root (/system/xbin/su)". i chose the second one, and waited for my device to boot. when it did, it was stock Touchwiz Android version 4.4.2, just like i had initially. what's more is my imei and bandwidth version were both "unknown" and i my sim card was undetected. I decided that technology had gotten the better of my and i tried to flash my old stock ROM back on. i found the file in recovery mode but it kept saying "no files found" whenever i clicked on it. I tried the cyanogenmod installer again, this time choosing "No", resulting in exactly the same scenario. At this point, I would be fine having the stock ROM since i have had such bad luck with the "developer's world" of Android.......... PLEASE HELP!!!!!
Another note:
ROM manager now is telling me that CWM is not installed, yet it is present in recovery mode......

Have you tried installing some other recovery, like TWRP? You won't be able to install CM from it, but you should be able to install other roms.

follow the guide and replace your recovery easily. after flashing, what recovery you have flashed will be default recovery, i recommend philz, they are all downloadable in the guide

Would I have to uninstall CWM? I'm just wondering if the file for CWM will still be on my phone. I'll check out the link.

it´s the best if you also do a format of internal sd in recovery before changing the recovery, because sometimes there are some folders left of it in interrnal memory and you cant delete it, do that if this will be the case. but i think Philz and CWM use same folder, so if you flash philz it will be okay if im correct otherwise you can always format internal sd afterwards
Edit: dont use rom manager for recovery actions, use recovery itself, much more reliable

[Q] KitKat fails to install

Hi. I am supporting my friend. Who has the i9305, via teamviewer so i am using the Universal android toolkit, and it worked ok.
I rooted it, and installed twrp 2.6.3.0 but here i failed. I could not install kitkat or anything else. So i had to revert to cm 10.1.3 and the camera does not work also the android keyboard from gapps 20130812 did fail to work. I had to push him a swiftkey apk, to work.
Now is my question what do i have to do to install cm 11 for i9305 ???
Just a new recovery?
Because every newer file just gets aborted and doesnt install, no liquid smooth or cm11.
Thanks.
My device was on 4.3 and I flashed Philz touch recovery and did a backup and restore. Then it stuck at Samsung logo when booting.
Wiping caches, resettings, fixing permissions, ...... non of them worked.
Finally I could get it booting by flashing 4.4.4 Stock Rom using Odin 3.07

Its working PERFECT now
also rooted using this guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...covery-i9305-cwm-philz-twrp-versions-t2694249
(In this time I did not used any recovery mentioned in the post. I just rooted it)
