[Q] Any Kernals or Custom ROMS for 820d ( m7cdwg) - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
This is my first post in this forum.
I have been trying to install a custom kernel and custom ROM for my HTC One 820d (m7cdwg) , without any success .
I have a rooted , S-OFF phone.
I tried to install ViperOne 6.2 ROM , which installed fine, but showed a blank screen and entered a bootloop ( tried to flush the cache - no use).
I am also not able to install TWRP Recovery version greater than 2.6.3.4 , anytime I try a latest version , it again enters a bootloop. It is the same with CWM Recovery.
If anybody has any success in installing a Latest Custom ROM, kindly let me know .
Thanks,
Anoop

everything for the m7_ul wont work on your m7cdwg, use only roms, kernel and recovery specifically made for that variant. there is thread in the general section with all m7cdwg stuff.

Are you sure you downloaded the correct version for your phone, because I have just tried downloading for my device which is the M7UL and the link is dead ?
which other roms have you tried downloading and flashing ?
doesn't matter which firmware they are based on, they should still work regardless, no need to be s-off for sense rom's, just bootloader unlocked, s-off is only required for GPE rom's
and most sense rom's require TWRP 2.6.3.3 recovery, which are you using ?

[Q] Rooting Hboot 1.57.0000

Hey guys,
Im new to HTC One. I have Tmobile version running on stock sense 6. I wanted to install a custom stock rom without the Tmobile Bloatware.
I know how to unlock the bootloader using HTC Dev method and install recovery to root. But i am a bit confused about S-Off. I have read that S-off will not work with Hboot 1.57.0000
So my questions are
1. Do i really have to S-off to install custom roms on HTC?
2. If not can i install ROMs for the int. version on my phone ?
3. Does the CID ver/number have anything to do with unlocking and rooting?
Thanks in advance.
1 No
2 Yes
3 No
If any time after install custom Rom you need revert back to Stock Rom for Warranty purposes you need S Off
You can s off with 1.57 if you need to. If Firewater doesn't work sunshine will but it'll cost u $25

Thank you for the reply. I have successfully rooted my stock rom and installed CWM recovery. And i have flashed custom kernel too.
I would now like to flash a 4.4.3 sense custom rom. I have read on some threads that the kernel wont be flashed on S-on devices. So do i have to flash a custom rom always after flashing a custom rom?
And one more thing. I currently have CWM touch recovery. I have seen lot of roms require TWRP. So my question is does the recovery image depend on the HTC variant? I have a Tmobile M7UL

Correct your Q
you don't need always flash custom kernel See requirement of kernel for custom ROM at their post
custom kernel don't need S Off ( it can be flashed with S On and it HELPS GETTING S Off)
S On wont let you flash Lower firmware or kernel then present now. see bootloader screen for that

yes You can flash any firmware same or higher version
TWRP 2.7.1.1 I not tried till but 2.6.3.3/4 is perfect
If only you could root your phone without having to unlock your bootloader so that you could know whether you can S-OFF or not.

Are you having issues with your M8? If so, this is the wrong forum you want the HTC One (M8) forum this is for the M7.
Hey pretty new to this site so I apologize in advance for any stupid questions or not posting enough info! I have a htc one m7 telus. Recently I had soft bricked it by accident so I sideloaded a guru reset that was the stock android 4.3 Rom and then I flashed stocked recovery and everything, but for some reason everytime I go to update the phone via ota it crashes in the installation and soft bricks my phone again. So I was wondering if I flashed this Rom and stock recovery would it still soft brick my phone when I go to ota? Or will it fix the problem (whatever it may be lol).? Very frustrating and I can't figure out why! Please help.

No luck on 2.8.4.0 either, so here's what I did-
Got the ARHD 90.0 file, installed that.
It got updated and since ARHD 90.0 is rather minimalistic in terms of tweaks, I suggest you do too!

Well, I think it has to do with a fault in the actual file. If you do need Lollipop, I highly suggest you install ARHD because it is almost stock Sense with tweaks that make it much better. Cheers!
I have MaximusHD at the moment so LP is there already. I was just curious on the stock version. And yes, there has to be something wrong with the rom file.

I think it has to be because HTC hasn't officially updated it to Lollipop and they seem to far from actually doing it (as you can probably see here )
Either way, this ROM is pretty cool
Edit: P.S- once you have updated, you can use this modpack which is pretty good!

You said you updated hboot but you`re on 1.55. As I said in my first reply to you, update to hboot 1.57. And in the future, please read through the thread before posting. This has been discussed before. You can find the latest firmware with hboot 1.57 here.
I recommend updating firmware using the file from the link above, but if you only want to update your hboot, you can download this. It`s the same as the firmware above but with only hboot 1.57.

I can't get multirom to work. Even with CWM Touch Recovery.

What SW version are you on, i you are S-ON you cannot flash a lower version than the one already installed on your phone, it has to be a similar or higher version, plus it has to be precisely for your Model or it will fail.
