it was discussed alreay in another thread, dont remember where exactly, looks like it would be very difficult (if not impossible) because of many factors. This will probably never happen, fortunately.

hd2 is just one lucky phone.
The hd2 is one of the first high-spec phones. So it created a huge user base.
And since most of the hardware was very well documented and what was not was reversed in a relative short amount of time.
Besides that, most people didn't like win mobile 6.5 because it has quite some flaws.
Basically thats why the HD2 is just well one of the only phone's that has all the OS systems.
Friend of mine also has HD2 with Cyanogenmod on it, compared to my old desire (with cyanogenmod) its extremely fast.
Because the Incredible S has a pretty small user base its not very likely that win7 is available for our phones, but when someone (or group) is willing to write something similar for the desire HD or any other Android Phone which has similar specs as the IS there is a possibility that someone is willing to port it to the IS. (think of a custom bootloader or wrapper script)
Until than, your out of luck and have to do with android , but i cannot imagine that that really is a problem.
p.s. olmost forgot: the bootloader of the HD2 was pretty "simple" compared to the bootloaders we currently have and was pretty easy to modify to run a different OS.

you should read this article about HD2.
the Wp7 drivers for HD2 were leaked, probably that was why it was possible.
not on the IS though ):

New phone :)

So basically, I'm going to get a note 2 in the next week or so, and I was going to sell my IncS. However, I realised how much I'd miss this xda community, so that's the reason I'm going to keep my phone as a media device for my future car just thought I'd let you all know how great this community is

There are a number of people (i dont know them personally of course. We just see each other on another forum occassionally). When I asked him what for, he said Android is a bit unstable for him. He said his phone crashed in the middle of a business call or something important like that. So he went for a Windows Phone and its rock solid. He said it never crashed on him yet and I totally believe him. Windows Phone has always been quite solid and very reliable for day to day tasks like email, messages, dialing and the likes. The only thing lacking though, is the app store but he says it does not really matter. he uses his phone for work only so yea, does make sense that he would not care.

[Q] Name for HTC One sequel...HTC One Two?

Let me start off by saying that I'm really enjoying my HTC one, it's great and phenomenal. I'm hoping HTC will make a great comeback with this phone, but here's a question: What would they name their next phone? Maybe they'll just go with HTC Two, but that sounds pretty silly. Hopefully they won't take a step back either to last year's models.

[Q] Cyanogen Mod / Other ROMs for the Butterfly S

Hi, I've been digging around here and generally around the internet too. There doesn't seem to be much interest in developing for this, yeah ? Does anyone know if there exists a port of Cyanogenmod for the Butterfly S or if anyone is developing for it at all? Love this phone but i'm not expecting much in terms of updates and that really would be a shame.

Hmm.. Yeah, it is a really nice phone. How was the original Butterfly with updates ? I'm liking some of the stuff Google is doing with 4.4 and i hope the update makes it over to the Butterfly S as well eventually.
The original had the updates to 4.2.2 right after HTC one but I sold mines because I wanted dual speakers bigger battery etc. I till miss the lightness of it

I just hope they don't repeat the crap with the One S again. So far HTC has not been clear on when the Butterfly s getting 4.3. IF there is an update we likely won't be delayed since these phones are unlocked. Taiwanese versions usually get it first shortly followed by the rest.
Also an interesting note it seems you can disable BlinkFeed on One X/X+ and original Butterfly on 4.2/Sense 5, but they left out the "home screen style" option on the Butterfly s and One which means you can't disable it. Personally I don't mind Blinkfeed I look at news from it whenever I'm bored, but it seems a lot of people hate it. It seems HTC wanted users of the newer devices to use Blinkfeed but didn't want to force older device users.
The HTC ONE and the butterfly s came with blinkfeed so ya can't change it but older models were updated so u have a choice

Selling HTC One to get a Nexus 5

Quick question, would you sell your HTC One to get a Nexus 5?
I'm thinking of doing it, but not sure yet.
Don't get me wrong I love the One, but getting a new device is always exciting.

I wouldn't. IMO, the roll-outs for software updates are coming fairly rapidly for HTC with the One. Nexus would get it's updates directly from Google, which has the upside of getting it first, but other than that, and having a "clean" Android phone, there really isn't any point to it for me. To each his own, though...

go get it!
by the way, last thing you wana do is ask htc one users or nexus 5 , if you need a unbiased view u have to go outside this group and watch online videos and see if its worth it. This always works on people who cant make decisions.
I'm keeping my One and getting a N5. If It did come down to it though I probably would sell it. I do prefer stock android and I like quick updates. HTC is doing a good job, but I like having them immediately. Only reason I'm keeping my One to be honest is the 64gb of storage I need for music listening purposes.

I went a head and ordered one from Google. It will take 3 to 4 weeks to ship.
I can cancel anytime before my order ships, just waiting on some reviews to see how the Nexus does.
Thanks for all your feedback!

I'm thinking about it. I'm just afraid the speakers won't be as great on the Nexus. Anyone know how the Nexus 5 speakers compare to our stereo boomsound?
Nexus 5 speaker flat out sucks compared to One..
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Nope! I wouldn't
- way better speaker(s) on the One
- Cotulla is here bringing us Windows goodness ?
- I've heard android 4.4 and snapdragon 800 are the only pro's for the N5, of which we'll get Android 4.4 soon enough and snapdragon 600 is powerful enough
- I love the aluminum unibody too much to let it go
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I wouldn't just cause I like the One more than Nexus 5. Other than 4.4 which we probably will get soon enough there isn't much to make me really want to get the 5. Plus I like having the option of using Sense and not having just different AOSP roms.

Software updates coming quickly from HTC... are you joking?
4.3 and Sense 5.5 has not even been sent out OTA yet here in the UK and now we are on 4.4... so we will get that about this time next year then from HTC officially!!!!

I would say no.
I was very keen on getting a Nexus 5.. was sat waiting for the official release online on Thursday, kept refreshing websites etc, but over the weekend I have totally changed my mind as like others have said, the only real big advantage is 4.4, Snapdragon 800 and quick to receive updates.
HTC One is only a little behind on speed, has higher dpi and far far better speakers. Now I like the latest version of Android asap and hate waiting, so here is what I did today and would suggest to others.. I converted my HTC One to a Google Play Edition. I now have a nice clean install, no bloatware, OTA updates, so I should receive my 4.4 update when it rolls out in i believe about 2 weeks, maybe less.
I didn't use blinkfeed or Zoes or any of that stuff so losing Sense 5.5 is no loss for me.
I have a nice warm feeling inside now that my HTC One is soon to be just as good as the Nexus 5 when I get 4.4, until then, I can handle it being a little under par...
