Changing the Resolution? - LG Optimus 4X HD

Yoh guys,
I was using and testing different Roms for our LG Optimus 4XHD device. My favorites are clearly the Lego, Beanstalk and Vanir roms.
Somehow the Lego Rom had a different resolution than every other Rom I was testing. The standard resolution of our devices is
1.280 x 720. The Lego rom had a resolution of 1920x1080. Is there a way to get the resolution of the Lego Rom on other roms too?
Regards,

If the lego rom have option to change DPI change it to 320 and see if it fits you.

For now I am using the Vanir Rom. Thx to u the problem is solved. I didnt know that u can change the resolution by setting the DPI.
It was on 320 already and I changed it to 268. Now everything's awesome. Thank you very much!

Bogus. I just downloaded and installed it. Recording only at max 720x480, and NOT 720p (which should be 1280 x 720).

That sucks, I never tried it just passing on what I read.

Why don't you scan the roms in the dev sub-forum and check out thier OP pages, then try a couple?
really isn't any rom?
so can i fix this with kernel for some rom?
i don't think it was so hard!!!
anyway tanks
The limit right now is the 720p requirement. The only ROM I have seen that mentioned that is the Broodcomb one mentioned earlier.

High Resolution - SlimRom

Hi,
Me and a couple of friends building a ROM now.
We want everything in the ROM to be small and it will look like the resolution is high, like in the SlimRom.
How can we do it?
Thanks everybody!
The resolution in slim isn't higher. The dpi is set to 182 instead of 240. Go into build.prop and change the value of ro.sf.lcd.density.
God no.

Latest JB Roms Have Better Picture than Older Roms?

I've been going back and forth between roms a lot and my impression is that the latest jb roms have a sharper, more detailed picture than older jb or ics roms .... And no, I'm not talking about dpi.
Am I imagining this, or has anyone else thought the same?
no . sharper images are because of build.prop tweaks by developers.I know this becaus i am a custom rom developer

what tweaks are you talking about in particular ?
In my experience jb leaks have an issue with gamma correction, it's always on so the hue changes quite frequently. It's an acknowledged bug by Google which should be fixed next release. As for image clarity, i don't see any difference.

I would also like to know which tweaks those are, if you don't mind?
So I keep going back from LS7 and LSA and older roms and there IS a difference in the sharpness of the image.
I am convinced of it. Try watching a 1080p trailer with LSA and then watch the same trailer on say, CM10. It looks much, MUCH sharper on LSA.
It's driving me crazy because I actually like the older builds and feel LSA is too laggy ... but I can't live without the super sharp 1080p.

1080P screenshots problems.

Hi there, I've changed my Nexus' resolution to 1080p using terminal with wm resolution 1080x1920 and wm density 420 commands.
I have a few problems. The biggest one - screenshots (see attachment). Also loading screen looks the same as screenshots.
All apps are working great, there is no problem with 1080p.
I'm using Nexus 6 with Android 9.0 (LinageOS) with magisk root.

Well then don't expect a fix. Looks like I am the only maintainer left doing real work for shamu and I have zero interest in 'fixing' stuff like this.

I know the reason why people want that.
But LineageOS doesn't allow anything but native resolution. That's why I am not wasting any time to change the resolution.
No bad feelings, I just wanted to tell you that it's not working like you tried it, and probably nobody is going to fix it.
Well, then i have to give up screenshots

In a terminal as root, or via adb shell:
wm size 1080x1920
wm density 420
And to return to default:
wm size reset
wm density reset

Always 4k resolution mod?

Hi, just wondering if anyone has been successful making the phone run in 4k all the time?
I tried the old adb method that works on older 4k xperias but on the Xperia 1, after setting it to 1644*3840 i lose control over the home back and many other functional buttons. I played around with several densities as well to no avail. Even installed the old xperia home launcher fr xz2p also can't get it to work.
If anyone has done this successful kindly share. Thank you.
Changing the resolution by using wm size will only "emulate" 4k. In order to have the phone in 4k mode, you'd need a kernel that supports it. I remember back in the XZP, there was an AOSP release that allows you to choose the resolution and refresh rate. Unsure if Sony devs are working on AOSP for the Xperia 1 as well.

With Xperia1 it's a bit different, you can change the wm size and density but it won't work. It doesn't behave the same way it did on the xzp for some reason.

Changing the resolution using wm size has never worked in the first place. Just "emulating" a resolution.

Only when 4k is required which isn't very often, pointless being 4k all the time as it will just waste battery
On the XZP it did visibly work, background images (if you used image2wallpaper app for example) for CLEARLY sharper in it's "always 4k" mode than the regular ones.

No point as you won't be able to tell the difference. Only 4k when required

the 4k is always active, not to be confused with the adb command which only makes the applications in 4k, but the screen is always in 4k when the application is less than 4k there is an upscale
any luck to get this working i want this on my new sony someone make it happen please thanks James
Hey there,

The way to get that is simply to compile AOSP for griffin (Xperia 1, j8110 or j9110) and you get 4k always on.
Or if you can't, wait for me to release my Pixel Experience may build with that feature baked in.
I'll have to make many xda threads for each supported device (which is from the xzp to Xperia 5, so that's a lot)

Hello mate, is it safe to say this is abandoned now or will you still release your ROM? I've been looking forward to it for a while now for the Xperia 1

Please link to a step-by-step guide.
Also, isn't it already running at 1644x3840? I just took a screenshot of the home screen and it was 1644x3840.
Thanks
