Download and install BusyBox and update SuperSU to version 2 or higher from the Play Store .

[Q] Problem Rooting

Hey folks,
I've just recently done the following:
1. installed the 4.3 OTA update for the Sprint HTC One.
2. Unlocked my bootloader via process provided by HTC
3. installed Clockwork Mod Recovery, Touch version
4. used CWMR to install super user for root
Well, the application is there, but I don't have root. Root explorer says I don't have root, and Root Checker says I don't have root.
I have no clue why I don't have root, or what to do to get it that I haven't already done.
Help?
EDIT: Downloaded a newer copy of SuperSU, and that seems to have done the trick.

Can't root (3.62, stock)

Hey guys,
I've just received my replacement phone and I'm trying to route it.
It came with 4.3 already installed.
I've unlocked the bootloader and installed CWM but want to s-off so I'm trying to root my stock (Three UK branding) ROM.
I've trying flashing superuser an superSU from recovery (CWM and TWRP) and they flash successfully and install onto my phone but don't actually give me root access!?
It also won't let me update the binaries in SuperSU
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
Edit - I'd somehow managed to download an outdated version on SuperSU. It's working now. Silly me.

[Q] I cannot get htc one m7wls to root

Hello everyone, I've read over many post on rooting this phone, did research online and even watched youtube videos, for some reason its just not working for me. I have unlocked my bootloader, with my unlock code.bin, I've installed TWRP version 2.6.3.0 because the 2.5 version doesn't work with touch for some reason. I then went into recovery mode and hit install and hit SuperSu-v1.25.zip and it says successful. I do notice it says "Updating partition details" . . . then followed by "E:Unable to mount '/cache". I hit reboot system, use the root checker app, and it says sorry phone is not rooted. I click on supersu in apps icon and get message saying "There is no SU binary Installed, and SuperSU cannot install it. This is a pronlem!" I hit ok and the app exits. What did I do wrong? Any help would be appreciated
Try updating your recovery to 2.7.1.1 (via the same method you installed 2.6.3.0) and try using the most up to date su.zip. do a Google search and you should find it in the first couple of links.

Thanks for the reply! I found an update to supersu and installed that zip with same version.recovery. I updated prior to posting to their 2.8 version but something made my phone stay stuck at the HTC brilliant spreen so had to use a recovery and reinstall this older version. Well in any case phone is rooted, now to find threads of getting s off on 4.3 android
Gaining s-off is dependent on the hboot version not the android version. Reboot to your hboot and you'll find your hboot version. Hboots 1.56 and 1.57 are very troublesome to s-off manually, but the sunshine s-off method makes light work of it (it will cost $25 though).

[Q] Is my warranty still intact?

I had previously rooted my HTC One M7 with Weaksauce .apk+Supersu. I unlocked my boot loader through HTC.dev and obtained s-off via firewater while connected to PC using adb commands. The custom recovery I used was twrp. I am closing in on my upgrade through Verizon so I decided it was time to revert to 100% stock. I locked my device with revone. I failed to make a backup of my stock ruu in the beginning so I had to find one. I may have unintentionally installed a stock rooted ruu but I am unsure. During this time my software build number was 3.11.605.1. Before I installed the new ruu, my hboot was 1.56 and my previous os was kit Kat 4.4.2. After obtaining s-on, I flashed an ruu that professed to be the latest OTA ruu available for the above build number. Once the ruu was finished installing I rebooted my phone and followed the on screen initialization. Now that I was on my "stock ruu" I performed a software update. When that process was complete I rebooted into the bootloader with the intention of verifying that there wasn't a tampered flag and that all appeared in its original state. The bootloader is locked with s-on and no tampered flag. Okay now that I have said all that, I do have one concern. I checked my apps and supersu is still a system app that is installed without any way of uninstalling. I opened supersu and went to settings and full unroot. At first glance supersu had uninstalled itself, however when I rebooted my phone supersu was still there except now I cannot open the app b/c the binaries are not up to date. I downloaded es file explorer and cannot delete or uninstall any part of su through bin or xbin folders and I cannot uninstall the original apk. From what I understand is that I must reroot to remove supersu. My issue with that is unlocking my boot loader since I have updated to 4.4.3. Even though supersu is still on my phone would that void my warranty? I downloaded rootchecker and I do not have root access.

to remove files from /system you need root + unsecured kernel or simply from custom recovery. I dont know if having supersu will cause an issue with your carrier (bootloader is locked, s-on, no tampered flag). It all depends who will look at the phone imo, if that person is smart enough, he will understand that the phone was tampered before by seeing supersu installed. Some others don't even know what it is... Probably a better idea to remove it just in case...

M8 Sprint H/K Rooting Issue

Hi
I have HTC one m8 Sprint harman Kardon devce.I rooted the device and s-pff using SunShine. After that I unroot it(still s-0ff). And I updated the software version to 4.20.654.10. Then I was going to root the device again(still s-off) using HTC One m8 toolkit. It shows already unlocked the bootloader. But 'Root Checker' app says my device was not rooted. After I installed TWRP,SuperSU app says 'There is no SU binary installed, and SuperSu cannot install it.If you just upgrated to Android 4.3, you need to manually re-root'. Please help to root the device again. Thank You
Flash the latest version of SuperSU
