I've unrooted my phone but it still says custom with an unlocked padlock upon startup, any ideas? Factory reset does not work for this. Also, system apps that I deleted while rooted are not restored when factory reset.
Final thought: I wonder when they finally send out a firmware update if it will clean up any evidence of rooting.

Run triangle away from chainfires thread it'll take away your custom padlock splash screen then you'll have to Odin back to stock to get system apps you've deleted.

Okay. Got it installed. Which setting turns off the padlock?
Edit: Didn't change any of the settings. When I rebooted/powered off the phone the padlock went away and the application now shows current status of System as "official" when it showed it as "modified" before. However what I'm now wondering is if I try to unroot with supersu will the padlock stay away for good? Or do I need to do anything else to reset this thing back to normal? I have not deleted any stock rom apps.
Ok, I went to the first link you posted and downloaded the .rar file and followed that method and phone is like stock. No padlock, got my calendar back, and I'ma happy man. Thanks again!

You can unlock your device so that you could use the S5 on any GSM network... Assuming your phone is paid off and 60 days have passed.

Yup I knew that was previously the case, and was pretty sure there was no workaround.
I hate when they do cap like that to the bootloader.
I'm going to take that as confirmation, as I knew back when mj4 first came out and I was maintain a Knox safe root thread. There were a few issues of people tripping Knox Even on a complete stock uprooted phone attempting to downgrade to run the Vega files.
Just hadn't looked into it since then wasn't sure someone hadn't worked around it.
Though why you would want to go back to mi3 is another question.

If you are using any third party root permission managers like SuperSu

Then you do this.
Dial *#2663# in the dialer and update the thouch screen penal firmware by selecting 'TSP FW update (General)' button.
Yes! But what's tricky about it is don't forget that since the screen touches are reversed, you must actually click the button on the right side of the screen to make the change happen. The one that says 'TSP FW update (Internal)'...or it won't work.
