It shouldn't. Never did for me.
Zeus 6.4 or Marvel 9 (with the "There is no delay" patch) were absolutely flawless.
I'd try a full install with a full factory reset.
Either something didn't install correctly or you have a hardware issue.

I dont have the phone anymore, so I cant really help on that... But I think I always used Zeus 7.xx and I always used the non-undervolted kernel (I think it was included in an older version) since I also had problems with "random" reboots on undervolted versions. And I think to remember that Marvell ROMs and the one by CDiederik or DCiers and achyut were quite stable. And IIRC paul also had a quite good ROM for this phone based on GB.

So far from all the ROMS i have tested it depends software version
on Gingerbread Zeus 6.4n is pretty much the best there is( I'm just annoyed by the launcher and GB in overall isn't smooth )
then on Ice Cream Sandwich i'm handing this one to Huexxx's IZS v2 (awesome ROM right here)
lastly on Jellybean i'm handing it to Mackay Reloaded (though it has some annoying bugs )

Stability wise, they're all reliable (unless they specifically say they are unstable).
Speed wise even CM10 is perfectly usable for me.. the more lightweight ROMs may be faster, but I prefer the features to a fraction of extra speed.
Definitely a Jelly Bean rom is your choice. Like already said, all of them (if listed here on XDA) are good for everyday use unless stated otherwise in the OP.
Which JB one? That is your job through trial and error. Because what's best for me, is not necessarily the ideal one for you.
Would you also recommend SlimBean already? I'm still on SlimICS, which is a really good rom for me...

But what if everyone provided a benchmark score (eg AnTutu) when they report about the speed and stability of which ROM they are using. Then we could all make a direct comparison and find out which ROM really is the fastest. (As for stability, that is more subjective.)

I'm on SlimBean but I wish I'd stayed on SlimICS.
I got 2 days of battery on ICS but now it's struggling to get half a day.
I wonder if they archived SlimICS anywhere, I'd like to reflash it
Actually I don't find the stability of any JB rom to be as good as GB's one. You might be interested in trying GamerzRom v9 (GB 2.3.6). I think it's THE cleanest rom ever made for this phone.
Anyway, at the moment I'm using CyanAOSP v0.52 which is pretty stable(not much rubbish installed), lightning fast(with recommended settings) and has a great battery life.

you obviously dont know how to use the phone. latest cm10 nightly dont have that bugs, maybe the battery drain but it depends on how you use the phone but my experience with any gb roms specially stock is the same battery life with cm10, so everyone can use it now as a daily driver aside from you caveman who dont know how to use your ob.

nightly from 20121111 or 20121114 have an exelent battery duration, the only issues that I had so far, is GPS takes around 10 minutos to lock a satelite, and the camera crashes every time you try to record a video, photos works great

Doesn't make much sense, if you flash a stock ROM you need to root first to flash a custom ROM and if you want a custom ROM why flash a stock ROM first?
Hi,
I just bought a SGS+ and I am curious what ROM shoud I choose?(I`ve seen a lot here) Because stock ROM lag`s every time I unlock phone, sometimes apps lag a couple of seconds and I would preffer ICS based ROM but I can try JellyBean too.
I'm looking forward to hearing from you guys!
Thanks.
Really comes down to your preferences. Some are feature rich, some are slimmed down, still others are aimed at gamers and performance. Personally I'm enjoying the Tsunami builds in the 4.1.2 flavor. Just check out a few until one suits you.

There are many good ROMs, you should try them and decide what is the best for you.
If you want more performance or if you don't want lag, you can flash a kernel with OC support, you can change the governor and the IO scheduler.
Good luck
I too own a SGS + and for me Bio Hazard is the perfect ICS Rom.
While Gigabread + is the perfect Gingerbread Rom.
But that are my views, it may not be the perfect match for you, so just try out all the ROMs, and one last thing, Jellybean at the sec is a little buggy so stick with 2.3 or 4 !
Ty Brahmnoor! I've tryed Biohazzard and it is a great ROM! Till now!

I strongly recommend using Jelly Bean ROMs rather than ICS ones. There are several reasons for that because JB is clearly an upgrade to ICS and not to mention the notorius ICS media bug.
You can start working with cm rom's i find them very attractive. although flashed today MagicBean rom, pretty nice to.
All you need to do is start working in that, keep on trying
My two favs...and the only 2 i switch between after trying almost everything there is.
1. CM9 + Devil Kernel (ICS)
2. Saurom + Semaphore 2.7.4 (gingerbread)
Currently using Saurom + semaphore 2.7.4
Just recently flashed this and im very impressed and pleased.

I would suggest trying out the JB ROM by Ivendor (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2000828). I'm pretty happy with it, especially since I do not use the features mentioned in that thread as buggy/not working.
The overall performance is awesome, the user interface is very smooth and battery life is better than I had with CM9 ROM.

Optimised battery i would think is a combination of both Kernel & Rom Apps, the stock kernel runs close to the 832 MHz frequency at most times even when the phone is idle. I always found my battery went fast when on stock firmware. RB's Kernel supports different frequencies and thus depending on the load on the CPU this can help save battery consumption. A bareboned ROM will also help keep power consumption low but the trade off is less app functionality on your phone.
See retribution gave me a very poor battery back up with 3G and wifi. But its quite fast. Right nw i am on stock deodexed XXLH3...with domscript and rafaels kernel. It gives me a 3/4th of a days use....with 3g and wifi.
Battery back up with simplicity V2 was quite good. But it has some app issues. (extreme bareboned). Kies doesnt recognise my fone. So had to restore my XXLH3 back up.

Are you running WIFI and 3g permanetly all day? If so this will drain your battery pretty fast regardless of what ROM your using i would assume. The Simplicity ROM's are fast and smooth, but at the moment i would wait for its v3 release, im currently using Jillie Bean Beta2 which works for me. You need to be realistic about how much battery use you will get out of your phone, if its being left idle power off functions you dont need.

All living JB Custom Roms are based on the XXLSA leak from sammobile with my OTA updates to XXLSX and the dump of it. Until Samsung provides a new version you'll have problems with the leak - no matter what Custom Rom you choose.
Stay on ICS or GB and wait for OTA updates from Samsung. I'm using the stock XXLSA right now (and still hoping and waiting for new developer updates like XXLSB and XXLSC) and it's ok.
go for any custom LSA (eybees) of LSC (ultimate)... good stable and smooth. but will require a reboot in a couple of days to keep it working smooth.. Yes and as ThaiDai said.. use ICS stock rom for rock steady
I'm currently running Ultimate 5.1 with Philz 3.99 as a daily driver and am loving it. No sleep of death/reboot of death. Great performance, great battery life. Stable as hell.
my two cents...
i've used ultimate (xxlsc) for some time but changed it with BurtROM. i find burtrom much more smooth than ultimate's
If you like tablet mode RevengeDevTeam and xperiacle made an awsome tablet mod... search for Angry vT1 rom and update with OTA its great....

Strange, I just tried Alliance ROM XXLSZ and found it not very smooth as compared to CM 10.1 nightly. I did a full wipe for the installation. Sorry for the (noob) question - can I ever achieve the same level of smoothness on TW based ROMS as the stock ROM on Note 2?
