Hey I hope one of you guys can help me.
I have a galaxy s running cm10 and I have had this persistent problem with my phone turning off automatically.
When I use it, I press the side button to turn off the screen and it is fine for a minute or so, but if I leave it any longer than that it turns off.
I have heard of something called Deep Sleep, is this the problem?
Is there a way to change how long it has to be locked to go into deep sleep?
Please help
I am losing hope
Cheers

Sounds interesting i know this from the first custom roms i tried a year ago!
Which build of cm10 are you using? Any "faulty" app installed? for me dropbox made cm10 instable and laggy, so i stopped using it.
Have you checked the md5-sum of the .zip file of your downloaded rom? Maybe the download was faulty... Happened to me twice on cm-nightlies.
Cheers
EDIT: Which kernel are you using? For me Stock-Kernel ist aboslutely rocksolid! My phone had 140 hours ontime this morning, before i flashed the newest build.
Hi,
Is you IMEI ok ? I had this problem with CM10 too but now my IMEI is ok I have no pb at all
have you overclocked your phone? i had the same thing happening with other roms...as soon as i had overclocked and turned the screen off, my phone got stuck after a while. try cleaning nstools settings. if that doesn't work, you might try turning off deep idle if it's active, could also be the reason

Okay, let's start from the beginning :silly:
Whats the exact name of the rom you flashed?
How do you flashed it? (Wipe, etc.)
Have you flashed any other stuff? (Inverted Gapps, Battery mod, Kernel, etc.)
Have you many apps installed?
If i where you, i would flash the newest build with a full wipe, so you got a new, bugfree and stable system
same issue
I have been having the same issue ever since switching to CM10, I have been installing nightlies hoping it will end, but appears to be isolated. Would it help to manually flash boot for each ROM? It cuts off randomly and won't turn on unless charged by a wall charger, or other high-power input (doesn't turn on or charge from car outlet). It doesn't appear to be caused by an app.
Did you wipe when installing nightlies?
If you try to go stock with Odin, and the issue is exactly the same, I think you should consider it could be battery malfunction.

Are you in the stock official samsung Rom?
Are you rooted?
What kernel?
Many times that happens because of some conservative governor kernel features!

Did you install WiFi Keep Alive like mentioned in the thread countless times?
Some phones can handle 900MHz with no problem. Some can't even handle 750. That's just luck. Try and see which one is stable for you.
Thanks for answers..

the same to me. In addition, if rightones are located in external SD then there are lost after swith on/off the phone. Probably it's a bug in slimROM
so question to
@andriod-Andi from which device the rom is ported?
Then we can talk to slimROM comunity.

I hope that helps you: move the ringtones to Ringtone folder in internal SD. The same and with Notification ringtones (to Notification folder).
solution
please, download slimlauncher3.apk from download sections.
works ok, for me
I have two problems, maybe someone can help:
1) PacPerformance won't keep statistics of the CPU frequencies reset, even when I press the button multiple times. After waiting a little (usually around 30 minutes) it adds the recent frequencies to the formerly deleted ones..
2) My phone goes to deep sleep quite rarely (~10%), even in the night, airplane mode on. WLD doesn't detect anything above 10mins wakelock, Battery statistic say phone wasn't active.. is PacPerformance wrong?
Thanks in advance!

Okay will try.
Also one more thing:
Double tapping the status bar locks the screen, is there any option to disable it?
Edit: Oh pardon: sakuravtive, sio
Results from Performance Control in the last night and WLD for the last 15 hours:
And the lowbat_wake_lock is the only significant wake lock, in CPU wakelock there is nothing above 30 minutes..
Battery shows no active CPU for the time of charging, so why does it stay up?
Shall I try to freeze the apps one by one looking for the right one or is it more probable that the kernel causes it?
Couldn't add this in the other post:

To freeze the apps one by one is one of the solutions. It could be many things and many conditions that cause the problem (3G always open, GPS always open, WiFi always open, bad install, gapps, some apps etc). I suggest you first to close all the connections and check if the problem persists. If it does reflash the rom and new gapps (avoid full gapps and prefer the pico pa gapps) with full wipe (Dalvik Cache/System/Cache/Data/Internal Storage) and without your apps. Five minutes after make a check with Pac Performance to see if you got the proper deep sleep value. If everything is ok install your apps one by one to see which cause the problem.
Btw try this combination: smartassV2 CPU Governor with deadline I/O Scheduler.
At night I have it in airplane, GPS is perma off, wifi only on when at home..
I let it run for the day now, as seen on the pictures..
Anyway thanks for the help, I think I will start freezing anything I don't use daily..
Hey guys. I'm thinking to flash a kernel. Would you suggest any kernel by android andi or cropol kernel or stock slimkat kernel is good for better battery life?
And if i update my baseband, would it help? And if i back up a nandroid and restore it later, will my baseband turn back to normal? I have xxamg4 baseband atm.
Thank you so much and im sorry for too many questions.

AnyKernel is similar to the built-in Kernel. Cropol and F_Kernel from Fred68... are interesting alternatives because of OverClocking and min frequency. I made very good experience with F_Kernel, specially for battery savings.
Baseband is diffcult. Depends somtimes on your provider and location. After testing several Basebands I'm back on AMG4. With others I had often Problems with Wakelocks which ends in Battery drain.
Thank you . I'll keep my baseband as same and will try f_kernel then. I checked other roms but guess slimkat is the best about battery life. Just having a bit issue when I have my Wifi on. I'll check f_kernel. Thanks again. It helped me a lot.

Not work on SlimKat 1150 MHZ ?
For life of battery i concur, this is obvious
Sorry i can't post in the original thread. So i will post it here. @Fred6681: 1150 MHz and SlimKat is no problem for me. No reboots, no force close[emoji3].
Greetings K.
Link to f_kernel from fred68? I wasn't able to find it for some reason..

1-Andi said in the original thread that the built in kernel of the rom is better and newer than any kernel, by himself. So, you might just keep it or try others like cropol (for oc)
2- I had ANA2 baseband atm I flashed the rom and experienced some 2g - 3g issues. Then I updated to ANE 2, much better now
3- Other than that, anyone alse having the clock freeze bug? Mine had the minutes ok, but one hour late, i just change the 12-24hs box twice and it was fixed.
4- My AOSP keyboard and google keyboard do not recognize when I longpress the "." button to use the ¡? etc... symbols.
Hi! Loving this ROM. Just a question. Is by any chance a possibility to have Netflix running in it? The only one thing missing to me. Thanks!

I second this, Netflix running would be awesome!
So, my issue is as the title shows.
The A53 cores do not stop, and A57 cores only work like 0-1 core at a time, usually doing nothing.
Which causes my phone to be heating up whenever it isn't sleeping, sometimes drains battery even when charging at 2A.
I'm using E6533(dual sim version), and it happened when I updated my phone to 7.1.1(32.4.A.0.160) from 7.0.0(32.3.A.2.33) firmware with flashtool.
Yes, I've rooted my phone, but just for removing shutter sounds.
I tried to rollback to my TWRP backup, factory reset, rollback to 32.2.A.0.305, using custom ROM(lineage), quite everything I know, but nothing worked.
Does anyone have a clue of what might be the problem, and what might work?
Thank you.

Well, if that's normal, this shouldn't be an issue. Though I do wonder where's the big little concept gone.
Did it ever occur to you guys that it might be dynamic hotplugging and a specific configuration/setup is being used ?
Or is it in your case really being buggy and broken ?
You left something working in the background and monitored how the cores behaved ?
Using different apps ? (say: kernel adiutor [or kernel adiutor mod], EX Kernel Manager, CPU Z, etc.)
My situation has improved, so I'll update my situation, hopefully it'll help someone.
After updating to stock 7.1.1(without modifications), my phone got just very hot while the screen was on., consuming more than 2A.
Rolling back did solve the problem(becomes normal heat), but as for me, I chose to use lineage OS, which was great. The only drawback I'm having now is that the camera button's function isn't as versatile as the stock ROM, especially while opening the camera app from sleep state, is a bit unstable.
A great thanks for all of you guys for giving me advices.
