Hey guys quick question, i am currently living with my long suffering firmware that is jellybean...the phones needing a good clean out and update!
So i was wondering if there is a UK regional FTF for the latest kit kat?
BUT ALSO! i have seen generic ES (Spain) Regional FTFs for Kit Kat and i will be moving to Spain in September.. so should i just go a head and flash that? i don't know the difference between ES & UK (not that i have managed to find a UK version, maybe someone could point me in the right direction)
Also are these FTFs available for rooting? my phone is currently rooted with CWM and will most likely want to re-root after i have flashed with flashtools..
sorry to ask such nooby questions
Thanks
Chris

Hey people,
i just started a Firmware collection for Xperia Devices.
All FTF files are hosted here:
http://ul.to/f/bd4cif
If an ACTUAL firmware (past firmwares are hard to get), is missing please write here so i can get it for you.
I want to see if users are interested. If no interest in the first month i will discontinue it. If Interest is there i will continue

Bin4ry if you look in Ion general section there is a stock firmware thread that has all the released stock ftf files if you want to add those. Also in the XT section the thread mention above by gregbradley has more stock ft files.

Currently bin4ry cannot host branded firmware.
Are you able to use pccompanion? If you can and your phone was on 3 UK firmware you can create your own .ftf following the guide from the all in one thread. If you have any questions about doing that, ask in that thread or PM me.

Yes this is no problem, all Android Firmwares are multilingual, even the Software will automatically change the language to the SIM language So no worry you can even install arabic firmware and you will get DUTCH automatically when yours SIM is dutch

Thanks! That is good news!
Question:
What's better of these two, I have a TL (AT&T) so I can not root the newer FW.
1.) 7.0.A.1.303 - ROOTED
2.) 7.0.A.3.195 - NOT ROOTED
Thanks.. looking for opinions please as I'm certain there are several others on AT&T who are wondering.

This is not the place for questions like this, but in brief the answer is that it's your choice. If you want system access you need root, if you don't need root then 195 is the latest fw therefore probably better..

You can root the AT&T FW and remove bloatware if you want without issue. As for the two you listed if you flash them you will lose LTE unless you exclude the baseband when flashing. The first one you will be able to root using Bin4ry's method the second one you will not be able to root at all since you have a locked bootloader and Bin4ry's method doesn't work on that firmware.
Thanks Spectre51, I understand the limitations and was wondering if going for the newer FW .195 was really worth loosing root on .303.

Hi guys, i have already searched on Google and here in the forum and found many guides for saving firmwares but not the real solution to my problem so hope you can help me
I am on stock ics 7.0.A.1.303 on my brand new xperia T and would like to update it to jb soon but before to do that I would like to backup my CURRENT running firmware just in case..
All the guides i found requires to update to the latest firmware available with pc companion or the other sw and then generate the ftf firmware starting from the downloaded files.. the problem is that I want to backup my current firmware not the newer one I will download!
Is that possible? Any chance?
Byte and thanks in advance
Either root, install recovery and make a backup or search for a ftf with your currant firmware version in the all in one thread from the question and answer section

Thanks my friend. I did read your all in one guide: that's simply great there i found all the info i will need for rooting, installing cwm and then be able to install custom roms.. I plan to install CM soon
Btw about the ftf's i saw them also, but i see there are many customizations of the same ftf so to avoid problems I wanted to save my own
The problem is that I'm in Italy + i have a no brand phone and I'm not sure if my ftf is in that list.. maybe my current ftf is the General ics central Europe one?
Bye and thanks again
Yes, you can use that one

Thanks! Just last question: if I well understood reading around here, the firmware ftf's don't include the kernel also, so if after updating to jb I would like to go back to ics i should flash the kernel separately right? If so, can i flash "[Kernel] Stock Kernel taken from Xperia T [LT30p] 7.0.A.1.303 [Vodafone UK]" I found in your guide even if it says vodafone uk? I guess so as it is "just" a kernel but just to be sure.. Thanks again!

That will be fine, but the ftf's do include the stock kernel, so don't worry.
Hi guys, i'm Darwin from Honduras, Central America. Im newest with my SP 5302
So i have dowloaded the newest firmware 12.1.A.1.201, and i didn't read that i can't root from 4.3 JB.
I read some thread and i can make a downgrade from my current FW. So the thing is i can't find a FW that's fits my phone (country or region), the question is ¿Can i use othe countrys FW in my phone (UK, India for example)? It will crash? I will be able to use my sim card and navigate without problems?
Thanks in advice, you guys are awesome.
PS. Pardon my bad english.
If you are interested in the latest .201 which is rooted, there are some devs developing nice ROMs based on .201 with root.
At the moment I am on purexperience which incorporates Z2 gui, etc and fast. It still has some bugs but I can live with it until something better comes along, if at all. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2691767&page=4)
Otherwise, another dev has put a full .201 in the forum which is rooted (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2704312 or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2704009)
Note: you will need to be rooted with CWM recovery in order to install these ROMs. The only way that I know is to downgrade the firmware to old 4.1.2 which enables you to use Doomlord's exploit (V18) after which you can install CWM.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2658952
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2405933 (for this one you will have to flash .254 full firmware before starting the process)
PS: you don't have to get the ftf that fits your country. Just take CE, SG, AU, UK (if you are comfortable with English) and it will prompt you for your language during setup...After all the downgraded ftf is simply a step to root and will be wiped out when you install .201
you can use stock based ROM, I am curently used existenz 2.1.5, it now also have newer version with xperia sirius features on it.

The radio baseband determines the frequency the phone can receive flashing another region firmware won't affect it if yours is a c5303 I know Brazil is then you will be fine flashing other c5303 fw for example uk. I think its just USA that has a different baseband.

Hey greatly thanks. If I do it wrong or if any wrong thing happened, what possible damages can cause? I want my mobile rooted for some apps and I am totally newbie to how to root.
As long as you follow the guide, nothing bad should happen. At worst you might have to reflash stock firmware, but that's very unlikely.

Hey everyone,
I need help soon as possible.
I have a Xperia Z1 C6903 with android 5.1.1 and my firmware is 14.6.A.9.368 and I want to downgrade to 4.4 (KitKat) because Android 5.1.1 is stealing a lot of battery and is slower than 4.4, so I want to get back to it.
MY PHONE IS ROOTED.
I saw a lot of threads about this, but I still don't know much..
I have flashtool, I just need a download link for a firmware of 4.4 (KitKat) that is compatible with my phone and will run without problems.
(I dont know if this is important but my SI is 1276-1925.8 EL,EN) <- Don't know what is this..
I'm from Portugal, so I'm sure I need a firmware of Portugal version I dont know.. I think I have an Unlocked phone.
Waiting for help.. Thanks!
Wrong board - this should have been under XPERIA Z1 Q&A, HELP & TROUBLESHOOTING
No, you don't need to unlock your phone's bootloader to use Flashtool and flash a stock 4.4.4
You can check the FTF download links posted in our community boards. Technically speaking it's OK to use another regions FTF on your phone, i.e. Philippine phone (like mine) using Singapore ROM is just as the same as Philippine phone using Philippine ROM.
I recently downgraded to 4.4.4 from a spanish mod'er.
Was also just sick of LL's battery life... and suddenly I can forget about charging etc. Finally lasts for about two days again...

Lollipop is faster and much better overall
Kitkat just fur battery life on 3g and app compatibility
I find if i disable location the battery last longer
