[Q] [PROBLEM] In-game lag spikes. - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello. Recently i bought Xperia Z. Kept using stock kitkat OS, but decided to downgrade to 4.3. Now the problems is- a lot of games that i play have decent lag spikes. Games like AVABEL (mmorpg) runs smoothly for a few seconds and then lags, then again. Googled a bit, it seems that this game runs perfectly for others. Other games (like The Infinte Black) run at 9-10 fps, while on four times weaker Xperia Play i played at a decent 24 fps. I have about 4gb free storage space. Any ideas what might cause this lag?

[Q] HTC One stutter/lag in games and sound

Okay so I've had the HTC One for over a month now and everything was running smoothly until the recent update to 1.29.666.17 (It's a canadian version). Im not sure if it's the update or what since I couldn't find anything similar with anybody, but all of a sudden there are stutters/lags everywhere. I was playing subway surfers which ran smoothly before and now there are alot of audio stutters and alot of game stutters almost making it unplayable and this game was running perfectly before. I restarted the device a couple times but no luck stutters are still there. It's literally everywhere in playing games, using the browser, playing music, watching videos etc.
I checked "Force GPU Rendering" and changed all animations to 0.5x to see if that would help sadly nothing worked. This phone was a powerhouse before and now its like a 3 year old phone running jellybean.
Has anyone else experienced this or is it just me? My phones not rooted nothing special done to it and I doubt it's a defective device as it was running perfectly for a month. Any ideas? Any assisstance would be greatly appreciated.

Some games not running smoothly

Hi everyone,
I have my One for three weeks now and I enjoy almost everything about it. Since I don't own a nexus 7 anymore I play my games on my phone and I have installed about 65-70 games. However I really get annoyed by the fact that some games like Real Racing 3 don't run smoothly. I noticed after resetting the phone that it was very smooth, but when I restored my other apps it was the same story again. I don't think this is normal as this device has the best SoC at the moment. Do I really have to uninstall almost all of my apps to be able to enjoy graphical intense games?
I'd really like to know if there is another issue I'm not aware of or if there is a solution to this apart from having almost no apps.
Thanks in advance

[Q] Lag on Xperia Z 4.3

Hello Xda. I have a Sony Xperia Z, stock rom, locked bootloader , non-rooted and with android 4.3 (10.4.B.0.569, Belgium version). All of my games lags on this device ( asphalt 8 , subway surf, even fruit ninja sometimes). Except games, nothing lags (menu, transition between apps etc). I tried many of the 10.4.B.0.569 build versions (singapore, switzerland, australia version ) but nothing changes. Strangely is that on .267 version the menu, album, camera was laggy, but not the games. Anyone knows what can I do to resolve the lag problem? (root or changing the phone from stock isn't an option, because I don't want to lose warranty).
You won't lose warranty by rooting mate..

its wierd because it lags... serioulsy..maybe u have a phone with faulty hardware.
You can Try the Repair-option in the Sony PC companion. be AWARE that you might lose all your data, but the program will warn you again if this risk exists.
A better option would be to flash a Stock rom with flashtool and datawipe unticked. If you feel unsure about using flashtool, this thread should help. If, after reading it you still feel unsure, ask me via PM, I might be able to help you.
If you don't want to mess around with flashing and things like that, you can tap settings/about phone/build number a few times and play with the developer options, especially the categoty "hardware-accelerated rendering". be aware that the developer options can (very very rarely) have unexpected behavour like forceclosing apps. It has been a long while since it last happened to me, but just go untick whatever you did and it will be fine again. do not simulate a secondary screen if you have that option.
I have this lag as well. I have not been able to identify why.

logcating the phone gives lots of vsync delay messages, could be the problem. (use logcat extreme and see for yourself.)

To free the system resources it takes up to write it. Besides, logcat files could take up several hundred megabytes of internal memory on my I9100.

I play a stupid game called Kiwi Dash, after a while the phone gets hot, really hot, on the back, next to the camera, you know, where the processor is located
Well, when it gets hot the lags appears, I had previously a CPU meter and I came to the conclusion that when it gets hot it slows down the CPU, one time in the summer it reached 50 celsius, even the home screen was laggy! So I bet that our foe is the overheated CPU....

never had that problem with the i9100, but I'm sure you can find a kernel with logs disabled somwhere in the Original Android Development sub-forum...

It is well known that this device has a overheat protection "thermal throttling". It slows down the CPU if the phone is in danger of overheating. you could try to run the game at 720p instead of 1080 via xposed module to see if it is easier on the chips. but the hardware stays 1080p, so the load on the chips wil stay comparatively high...

[Q] Asphalt 8 Crashing

In my new Moto G Indian dual sim bversion Asphalt 8 is sometimes crashing suddenly without any error message like 'Unfortunately Asphalt 8 stopped' etc. It's directly comes to the homescreen quitting the game all of a sudden... Is there any problem with the game or firmwire? I downloaded directly from PlayStore. Any same incident or help?
Did you try reinstalling it?

try freeing some space & clear cache
I did it.. Cleared cache and data too several times. Even did fresh reinstall from PlayStore. Same problem occurring again. Even sometimes just before the end of a race and coming 1st position game suddenly crashed. Total frustration! Space available a lot already!

I've just got a moto g (1 gen) LTE model running 4.4.4... from amazon in the UK. I thought I'd try Asphault 8 to test out the phone today. Crashes back to the homescreen with no message whatsoever from the menus, during loading and sometimes I can get it to just get into the game.. when I use task manager to got back into the game it just loads from the start again (Gameloft logo). I haven't actually been able to get through the tutorial at all. Medium (default) settings.
Any ideas?
i think ram management problem in the new moto g 2nd gen... I never have this problem on moto g(2013)
same
same problem tried it several times always crashes no matter what u do
same problem here is due to low ram clear ram before playing game.
Asphalt 8 not working for me too..
The same happening to me too..
you are right---"i think ram management problem in the new moto g 2nd gen"
This happens with the background apps also.. closes for no reason...
Yeah the problem exists.
Asphalt 8 does crash to main screen and many apps are closed in the background. Can someone tell what issue is that and how can that be handalled. Also Firefox and Chrome don't keep the tabs loaded in the background. The tabs reload even if you jump from tab to tab, which is very bad and inconvenient. If someone finds a solution please tell, waiting for reply.
All this problem have only 1 reason low ram problem try to free up ram before playing any game u always disable apps that you dont use like some motorola app to free up ram.
Clearing RAM is not a proper solution. It crashes even after that. In KK ram is cleared a=by automatic in built tasker. Anyway, after a much research and tinkling with my Moto G2 I finally came with a successful solution. Most of the time with high graphic most part like Dubai track with high speed car the chance of crashing suddenly is more. Moto G 2 has a serious RAM management problem. Hope this bug may be corrected in L update very soon. With smaller application it is not felt particularly.
Anyway, root your phone first. Install RAM manager (paid app) and any build.prop editor. First edit your build.prop section the VM Heap size to 512 mb and VM Heap growth limit 256 mb. No matter, due to less collection of paging garbage your battery backup should also increase a little. But your RAM potential will be utilised at fullest. Now go to ram manager set 'Hard Multitasking Mode' and clear memory with it before playing the game. Asphalt 8 will never crash!! Tested!!

Same Problem.. But is Rooting the only solution
I am facing the same problem as GT racing 2 also force closes. and Real Racing 3 too tried several apps but i'm unable to run all the apps. what to do
asphalt 8 :airborne
I have installed Asphalt 8: Airborne on my XT1068 , and it runs smoothly with good graphics ( i didn't change any settings for graphics in the game )
the game crashed 2 times after installing , but it has worked fine ever since i rebooted the device once
my device is rooted but there is no optimization apps .
Real racing 3 also worked fine without a single crashed, since i haven't installed many apps there is always about 300mb RAm free
Asphalt 8 crash on Moto G2

Sony Xperia SP Asphalt 8 Lag (C5303)

Hey there,
I have a problem about Asphalt 8 Airborne on my C5303 device. This problem started after updating the game to 2.1.0l. I use Williams Kernel (lastest version) and my phone is overclocked to 1.944 GHZ. On stock kernel or DoomKernel the game crashes when I start a race. But in Williams Kernel it wont crash but it keeps lagging so much. I cant even play online. But when it is not lagging the game runs perfectly fine. This lag keeps doing at sometimes. Is there any solution for this?
And I use ramexpander to get more ram. The strange thing is other games like Real Racing 3 or Truck Simulator Pro 2016 ıs not lagging or crashing. I got stock rom too.
Note: Sorry for my bad language, I am Turkish.
hmmm look like we have same problem
I think it is not about the phone, it is about the game. Ganelıft should realase a update which will have lower graphic options.
