[Q] Tampered, Relocked, Security Warming - Trying to get stock - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all!
I´m trying to get my M7 functional after rooting it, installing CyanogenMod, and somehow relocking it. I was a clumsy idiot and now I'm stuck at the bootloader. I've figured out that I need to install the correct RUU for my phone but my efforts have resulted in "remote: 12 signature verify fail" or that the RUU installation never completes. I'm S-on.

The latest ruu available is 4.19.401.9, but that is older than what you have so using a RUU won't work unless you are S-OFF.
So, unlock bootloader again (using HTCdev), then install a custom recovery (TWRP 2.6.3.3) and sideload or push a ROM onto your phone and install.
Check this on how to get a ROM onto your phone: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53270352&postcount=21

Thanks a lot! The sideload didn't work, but the pushing succeeded.

[Q] Stuck Unrooting Tampered, Locked and S-On HTC One M7 :(

Hello! I need a huge help with HTC One M7 stuck in bootloader.
The device is rooted and recently installed with custom ROM (fw 4.3) but then I had to unroot and get back to stock ROM for service warranty.
I was following this link to unroot my device: htc-one.wonderhowto.com/how-to/return-your-rooted-unlocked-htc-one-back-factory-settings-for-warranty-repairs-0149204/.
All iz well except for the last step, loading the ROM and returning to stock. I initially intended to use the nandroid backup ROM (obtained thru TWRP) in recovery.
The problem now is that I can’t enter into recovery since the device is already locked and S-On. I also can’t find an exact RUU match.
Current device state is tampered, locked, S-On, and with security warning. Below is the device info:
(bootloader) version: 0.5

there is also one on htc1guru.com
I've already tried running the Rumrunner but it can't detect the device.
I also checked the device via adb devices and nothing is listed.
Do you have any other suggestion?
I'm in the same boat. Has anyone found a solution?
EDIT: I found out I was flashing an RUU that was a lower version that what was on my phone. Flashed the correct RUU and everything fixed itself.

I relocked it and tried to use a RUU.exe and .zip but both didnt work. Getting errors like "12 signature verify fail"
I flashed a firmware, but the only thing is that the htc logo is shown and it ends in a bootloop (guess because no system is on the phone)
my S-ON is active, do i have to turn it to S-OFF? How can I do it if I can only enter the fastboot mode (adb doesnt work).

You have to flash the firmware.zip file first if you haven't flashed it.
It contains new bootloader stock recovery and radio and etc. Find appropriate firmware of your model then use ruu it will work.

What was the RUU you were trying to flash (version number)? Was it a signed RUU or a decrypted RUU?
Are you trying to go back to stock for warranty purpose?

I tried everything i could find to go back to stock. I tried restoring a nandroid backup and then updating, i tried flashing RUU for my devices but that gives me an error everytime. I locked the bootloader and updating but that didn't do anything. I tried Stock ROM – Guru Reset but after OTA update to 4.4.2 the phone doesn't boot anymore.
Must be something i'm missing, there is allot of information about the One M7. Maybe there is a official rom that i could flash and go from there. Just want to have a stock rom with KK.
Thanks in advance.

you cant use the guru-reset file because the version is too low for your HBOOT, the updates are failing causing a boot loop because they are trying to downgrade your HBOOT, not possible with s-on.
the RUU is also a lower version than you are currently running, and as you are s-on, you cant downgrade.
the only way you can get back to stock now is too unlock your bootloader, flash twrp recovery 2.6.3.3 and download stock odexed 5.11.401.10 rom from here: http://android-revolution-hd.blogspot.co.uk/p/android-revolution-hd-mirror-site-var.html
flash it through recovery, after its installed and your phone is set back up, if you want to be fully stock, download the recovery from the same page and flash that.
U can used firewater to get S-OFF and then used RUU.zip to return to stock
Link: http://firewater-soff.com/instructions/
I will try the solution Seanie280672 recomended. I can't get S-OFF for my device.

s-off is very hard with 1,57 hboot, some people are having success, most arnt still.
Yep. I'm one of those that get this: whelp, this sucks, firewater can not work on your device no amount of reflashing, retrying, or ruuing will fix...
BTW, thank you for your qiuck reply.

It is difficult finding a RUU if you don't know the version number (x.xx.xxx.x)! Did you try to side load a custom rom on to your phone? The instructions were in [Solution] No OS installed post? ADB commands will work while the phone is in Recovery. Once the prep is complete, then boot the phone up into Recovery and plug it into the computer.

(bootloader) hbootpreupdate: 11

all: Done!
I am trying to return to stock but unsure which RUU I really need. I did download this one to try my luck:
RUU_M7_UL_K44_SENSE55_MR_HTC_Europe_4.19.401.9_R_Radio_4A.23.3263.28_10.38r.1157.04L_release_353069_signed_2-1
But it stays at "Checking Header...." and never moves on past that point.
Since I updated my device before I tried rooting it. So it's HBOOT 1.57.000. So all I tried to S-OFF failed so I'm stuck with S-ON.
Anyone is able to help me?
PS I tried using this tutorial.

So I relocked my bootloader using "fastboot oem lock"

Are you trying to return to stock for warranty purpose? If not you can simply flash the stock odexed rom (6.09.401.5) and then the stock 6.09.401.5 recovery.
otherwise you'll indeed need s-off. Have you tried sunshine s-off?

No, I do not want to go to stock for warranty purposes. I just want to return to stock and receive OTA updates.
I know that if I want to return the device for warranty purposes I need to s-off but since nothing is wrong with my device I am not mentally prepared to pay 25$. Please don't get me wrong I understand the time and effort that went into sunshine S-OFF and even I feel that 25$ are justified, I simply not need it so urgently...yet
Ok, then where can i get the odexed rom and the recovery? Do you have some pointers? I just wanna make sure I get the right one.
