Hey guys. Wechat is pre-installed on my phone and im not able to delete it? How is this possible? I have attached two screen shots, please check them out.
Thanks!
hi, seems to be a system application, so it can't be simply deleted.
you need to get root, then you can download the app "titanium backup". with this app and root access you can delete every app you want to..

Hey, thanks for the reply. But is wechat supposed to be a system application?
honestly i've never seen it before, but the preinstalled apps depend also from your region and your provider.. maybe you have a branding too..

I purchased it unlocked, we don't have any branding here in India. And even I have never seen such apps, pre-installed. It seems to be something fishy. Also it has permission's to almost everything.
WeChat is the most used chat application in China. All my chinese friends are using it, so it shoudn't be that harmful.

likely nothing fishy going on other than htc getting paid to have it loaded at factory for your region. it's like some of the appls i can't uninstall for t-mobile usa without root so i do is disable them under the apps list whenever possible.
I held down the WeChat icon in App Drawer and dragged to Uninstall which comes at top. Voila!! It was gone. Try this way. Worked for me.

Hey guys,
i'm wondering if we are able to uninstall an app that is located in the setting hub like Display + Touch from Nokia? Uninstalling a "normal" app works with holding the app and select uninstall, but works this also for apps in settings hub?
No, there's no official way to do such a thing. Sideloaded apps can be installed with minor hijacking of the installer code, or by changing them to install in the app list (it's a simple flag in the manifest), re-installing the app, and then removing it as normal. Store apps (including OEM apps, which are store-signed and can't be sideloaded) do not permit such shenanigans.

thanks for the tip!
I solved now the Problem by making a new app, with the same app id. It was the easier way than reseting the phone for deleting some apps from the settingshub...

Hi, I'm a Lumia 520 user from China. I've just read something about how to uninstall apps (e.g., from Nokia) located in the settings.
You can just set the date of the phone to 100 years later, say 2113/08/11. Save the date and re-enter the settings, try to open the settings app you want to uninstall, then will be prompted that "there are problems with this app", and there are "Uninstall" and "Purchase" buttons.
Hope this trick will help you. And the attachment is a screenshot of mine (in Chinese, sorry).
I have no idea about this trick to uninstall settings apps. Anyone knows? Thanks.
You're setting the phone's date past the expiration date for the app DRM. When the phone detects that the DRM is invalid (expired), it won't let you launch the app and offers to remove it for you.
Clever trick.

Does this work with the Samsung settings apps too?
Yes, of course it does. The only things that this *won't* work on are built-in programs (not apps, even if they were pre-installed) and *maybe* sideloaded apps (but probably those too; the dev-unlock has an expiration point).

You can't remove that app, I think the only way for delete is reset he phone.

Hi guys,
I'm getting a problem related to the chinese variant. And it's really irritating, i hope you can help as this is really popular and discussed a lot.
-Google assistant won't stay the default assist app.
-Access with voice match is greyed out.
-when i make google the default assist app, google is greyed out as seen in the third screenshot.
-weirdly enough i don't have default assist app anywhere in settings, I can only access it from google (first screeshot)
I already have disabled breeno stuff and some chinese stuff except breeno space.
I tried some solutions online from deleting cache to re-installing google, but the issue is rom related.
What i haven't tried is unlocking bootloader and rooting then making the assistant a system app. So what I'm trying to say is did anyone have it working like a charm, and how??
Unfortunately that's what the rom does. The only way I had made it to work is using tasker..
My first approach was for event when the secure config was changed tasker will change it back to Google. But this doesn't seem to work all the time.
My second approach was to create a shortcut that set the assistant and then launches the app. See screenshot.

Man this is irritating, using tasker for an assistant ?? this reminds me of an old tcl tv I have running android 4.4 and no matter what I do i can't get apps to function correctly on there
I tried making it a system app. Didnt work. still greyed out. I used android terminal App systemizer
It moved the whole folder to system/apps. I also tried system/priv-apps. But its weird that i can still uninstall google from the app drawer.

This is absolute bs, i thought root will make it work but now i don't even know why the cn rom is behaving like this.
I really hope someone got it working
As already mentioned in other Posts, my Vivo X90 Pro Plus is really unstable. As I don't know if I'm the only one having these issues and as it's not so evident, I decided to create a new Post about it.
I quickly installed after receiving the phone Google Play Store like a lot of people I guess, then many apps. I'm using quite a lot the GPS applications, and they seem well working. But the first thing I observed and didn't understand was the WiFi speed. It seems when downloading a big file by WiFi to be slow compared to my other phones even older in technologies and on the same router connection and at the same distance. Then I had a lot of crashes of the phone. A lot during the use of GPS Apps like Google Maps and WAZE, but not only. I was thinking it was due to the Debloat script I applied, but after doing a complete Erase and trying without the script, I observed the same. I did try to take a Log of the OS to check but as I'm not so specialized in these logs, I would need help of someone knowing the Logcat and their readings if possible... Because it's not clear for now if it's Hardware and need to change phone, or Soft or OS... I observed when it start crashing, it can be even every 5 minutes and becoming worst and worst and consumes a lot of the battery without any specific reason.
As it seems I can't attach here the Logcat file, here's the link to it;

Thanks a lot

You mean the problem is there after a factory reset too (without Google Play and debloat)?

Without Google Play it's difficult to say, as I can't use the phone without anything installed and I don't speak Chinese. But without the Debloat also, yes.

Then the issue is being caused by Google apps and services. Where did you install those from?
Also, try deleting app data for Android System Webview and Chrome. These have been responsible for several app crashes in the past.

I installed once from APKMirror, then once from APKPure. Ok, I'll try to delete datas. Have you seen from the Logcat what was the cause? Thanks

Isn't it good to use APKPure for the app not available in our region we need in the Google Play Store and we have to update? If you've another proposal...

Do you check the APKs on VirusTotal before sideloading them?
I haven't seen the logcat as I won't make anything out of it.
I would stay away from apkpure though because I don't trust that site.

What version debloat script did you use?
Hi, that's ok. From the logcat I understood there was an issue with the app "Weather Widget" I installed and got used to and all GPS apps. After removing and cleaning its data, the problem is solved. There are no issues with the apps coming from apkpure. This app was coming from the Google Market and caused this issue. Thanks for your help.
But to refer to a comment, I've indeed yet a lot of error messages related to "Android System Webview" which should be updated when there are no update available. Like for Email checks, it seems often causing issues.
Hi !
I will receive soon a x90 pro plus.
I read all posts about debloating phone, I think it is a normal thing to do if you don't use apps.
But I wonder if using vivo app store is so bad. Somebody here uses this phone without Google play, only with vivo app store ?
Thanks
So, I understand now no English !

You can remove if you want, but the vivo store itself is pretty bad, and no english at all (or I don't know how to change it to english). However, if you remove it, you will likely lose the ability to install 3rd party apps (i.e, any apps outside of google play store or vivo store). Just think twice before disabling it. Of course, you can resintall that vivo store back using adb, so not a big deal here.

I did not touch it. So, no problem.
We find apps in english but I won't go further with that, no possibilities to make it usable like playstore with payment method ... etc.
Thanks !

It's just a mystery like the way X90PP with Snap 8 Gen2 still sucks tons of battery. They designed the vivo store app as a dogwatcher then they can observe what we install/uninstall on our phones. I just know that if you remove it, you cannot install any 3rd party apps anymore. Tested by myself and had to reinstall it back.

Which means the package installer is part of the Vivo Store app.
Try installing the Android Package Installer app and see if you can install apps without the Vivo Store app. Once package installer is installed, apps can be installed using any file manager that supports it or an apk installer like SAI.

Thanks, I'll check, but I guess it will end up being the same as some apps like sms and phone app. That means you need the original app to make it work.

Thinking about it, the package installer must be a system app. You won’t be able to install an app as a system app without root. Give it a try. May be it is just a question of enabling the default package installer which Vivo probably disabled in favour of their own Store app.
