Okay - is there an all in one guide I can follow from someone? How do I backup the Ta partition and do I have to unlock the bootloader using Android Sdk or is there a different way?

I don't know. But do you have USB debugging on?
Google doesn't say something for your problem? Which tutorial/method you use?
You need root to backup your TA, so yes and no
Strictly seen you don't need it to unlock, but i strongly suggest you do backup your TA do you can restore your drm keys should you ever have the need to

Dude use the SEARCH button.
Watch this:
http://youtu.be/l78p_2ShPS0
You don't need to unlock the bootloader to get root. If you wanna keep it locked and get root:
http://youtu.be/1aq9YTlfCgc
If you do decide to unlock the bootloader. BACKUP YOUR TA:

Yes, before that you have to Backup your TA. Remember, unlocking bootlader will void your warranty.

You won't lose your IMEI by flashing ROMs.. usually
I just got a Z1 C6903 and want to unlock the bootloader/root so I can flash a stock android rom (= nexus like rom). I have only previously rooted Nexus devices - is there a one-click root tool that will do this ??
Thnx, and sorry is it was posted before I'm new here

No need to unlock the bootloader to root, just follow my sig. But to install an aosp ROM you will have to unlock the boot as well

Okay so I have never rooted and unlocked a device apart from Nexus'. Is there a Complete guide on how to do this for the .108 firmware?? And what do Ioose when unlocking the bootloader? Is it safe? Should I unlock the bootloader and then root the device following your guide or the other way round? Thnx
Please only start one thread per question, I have locked the other thread you started about this same issue.
First root, follow my signature for guidance (4.4.4 is the easiest to root)
Then backup your TA partition, look in the cross device development section for the TA backup thread.
Finally you can unlock the boot http://bit.ly/1okTnqd.

Oh sorry I needed answers fast Anyway thanks allot for your help!
Also, you should know that you do not need to unlock the boot loader to install a custom recovery. You only need root. And one you root using the newroot method you will have cmw recovery installed.
You only need to unlock the boot loader if you want to flash a custom kernel, or flash a custom rom based on a custom kernel such as CM, AOSP etc

I want to Install Cm and get stock android. Can I use a Ta partition backup tool? And how risky is this?
Yes you can use it, I have advised you to do it. There is no risk, it just copies your trim area partition so you can restore later if you want to relock your boot loader

This is the only video I can find but the website now looks totally different
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PvUIu5EG3ng
The website has gone through an over haul, but is exactly the same process.
You can use flashtool but you still need the unlock code from Sony.
If you have installed the fastboot, flashode and z1 drivers in flashtool then you do not need to do anything else.
Connect in fast boot mode, type
Fastboot devices
Then you should get a reply back with a serial number.
Then type the command to unlock the bootloader with the code you get from Sony.
To install the drivers from flashtool, goto
C:\flashtool\drivers and run drivers.Exe
Choose fastboot, flashmode and z1 drivers

Hey,
I've got a Sony Xperia z1 which I will be selling now and I need to get it to factory settings. Im currently running CM11 and am rooted, unlocked bootloader and have a custom recovery. Are there any guides that will get me back to stock firmware and is it possible to get it back so that no one knows it was ever rooted ?? When I unlocked the bootloader I backed up my TA partition.
Thnx

Well, warranty fraud is not condoned on XDA. I have told you how to relock your bootloader and return your phone to a stock state.
If unlocking your bootloader voided your warranty then its voided no matter what you do after that,
